Someone is leaving a trail of bodies throughout London, and Detective Anthony Parglietto is determined to end the violence. Then he’ll return to the man he loves.

Tough, street-savvy, and used to dealing with lowlifes, Flynn Parker is the last person Anthony thinks he has to protect. Then the Bow-Tie Killer strikes close to home and the world turns upside down. Right is wrong, black is white, and a policeman might become a monster. But in the name of love, justice must be served. In the name of love, pain can be endured. In the name of love, a man can taste the very essence that defines him.

Review: I can always count on it, and, once again, here is another solid offering from Ms. Mac Nicol. I love that her books all seem to take a different direction, yet each one is as fullfilling as the last.

This starts off running with reporter, Flynn, having been taken hostage by the notorious Bow-Tie Killer (“BTK”). Flynn had made comments about wanting to tell BTK’s story, and to get back at the lead detective on the case, Anthony (Flynn’s lover), who the BTK saw as smug and arrogant, BTK decided to hit Anthony where it would hurt the most.

Flynn is released, but his torment does not end there. BTK has him under his thumb and holds those he cares about as collateral in order to manipulate Flynn. Anthony wants to help Flynn, wants to seek justice, and now, BTK has made it extremely personal.

BTK is one heck of a psycho killer. I loved that we got to see things from his perspective, both as the psycho killer and that of a psycho killer’s double life as a “normal” person in an actual relationship setting. It is difficult to comprehend, but so very interesting to see things from this double angle.

There is so much going on in this story, between BTK and Flynn, Anthony and Flynn, Anthony and his desparation to find and eliminate BTK, Flynn’s ex, Kieren, everthing is woven together with threads that keep you in suspense and on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed how this story played out – so many emotions and angst and psychological thrillery.

If you are looking for a powerful, angsty, psychologicall thriller with a side of smexy love and hot sex, be sure to give this one a try. If you are looking for something sweeter, don’t hesitate to give some of Ms. Mac Nicol’s other books a closer look, as her various books really do offer a little something for everyone.

Overall Impression: I really liked it!

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*
