Review: Well, when I started this audio, I didn’t realize it was book three in the Hope series, but good news, I don’t feel like I’d missed anything as the main characters took up most of the book. I’ve listened to a few Cardeno C. audios and they are usually fast and enjoyable. But, this one took me a bit by surprise. I am not a huge fan of May-December if the one character is still a teenager, but since Todd was in his early twenties, I was good to go. The issue I had was not so much the age difference (20 years), but the way Richard treated Todd…it felt more like a father scolding his son than a boyfriend. There were many scenes when I was just ready to call it quits, especially because Todd willingly changed who he was to make Richard happy. Not cool.
But, I let the story play out and in the end, there was a reason for Richard being such a jerk. It was a bit weak, but long story short, Todd needed to be controlled and Richard loved to control Todd, so if it worked for them who am I to complain?
Ezekiel Robinson is a new narrator for me. He did a great job with a tough story and I especially enjoyed his sexy voice, moans and groans. It was quite obvious he was getting into it, or he is really just that good. Regardless, I have Mr. Robinson to thank for finishing this audio. I was not feeling the control freak vibes but the narrator did a phenomenal job of keeping me vested.
Overall Impression: I liked it!
