Review:
First off, look at that beautiful cover. Full disclosure, I know Jared and David, the cover models, and I can’t get over how perfect that cover is for this story. Jared and David make for the perfect characterization of Lucky and Saint. I admit, it was a bit difficult separating the models that I know from the characters in the book, but seriously, what an awesome problem to have. Bravo to the author for choosing a beautiful, real life couple as the representation for the characters in this book.
I loved the small town setting for this story, and the relationship that Lucky has with his grandma and her bestie, Alice. I never tired of reading about the golden boy who had a beautiful heart and soul, and was just a naturally sweet and loving person. And Saint, who is a sexy, confident, dirty talking rich boy from LA. He was the perfect complement to Lucky’s innocence. Both are bi-sexual, but living in a small town left slim pickings for Lucky, whereas LA was a near smorgasbord for Saint. They say opposites attract, but to me, I think Saint and Lucky were one in the same but whose life path was set more from their environments.
Saint, for all his cockiness, was lonely and distressed to have been deprived of family. But, Lucky has more than enough family for Saint to share. Especially Alice and Helen. Seriously, I think my favorite part of this whole story was the interactions with the old women. They were hilarious, dirty talkers, and real. The biggest impact I took away from this story was the realism and the family dynamics. It has its sexy parts, and it has some awesome dialogue, but more than anything, it was full of love.
Overall Impression: I really liked it!
