Blurb: Step into the dark, passionate intrigue of The Inner Room – where submissive dreams become reality
Dr. Marissa Roberts takes charge and saves lives by day, but spends lonely nights embracing fantasies of erotic submission. When a friend encourages her to explore her submissive longings, Marissa agrees to an evaluation to become a member of an exclusive local BDSM club. With that act, a door is opened to Marissa, and her long-standing fantasies may just become reality.
Cam Wilder, a nurse at the same hospital as Marissa and an experienced Dominant in his private life, has no idea the prospective slave girl he will assess in The Inner Room of The Power Exchange will be his reserved co-worker. Sparks of desire ignite into flames of passion as Cam recognizes in Marissa the heart of a true submissive yearning for freedom, and she sees in him a Master who speaks directly to her soul.
Their potential BDSM paradise is threatened by the unwanted attention of an arrogant bastard who refuses to take no for an answer. His secret surveillance and devious plans lead to terrifying results that threaten to destroy not only Marissa and Cam’s careers, but the bonds of trust and love they’ve forged together as Master and sub girl.

Review: I very rarely read m/f stories these days and am even pickier about the BDSM books I choose. Having enjoyed quite a few of Ms. Thompson’s books in the past, I felt pretty confident I would enjoy this one as well. I was not disappointed.
Marissa is a strong, confident woman, and that does not change once she meets here man/master. She is a successful doctor who discovered her potential submissive side and the world of BDSM through her best friend who is in the lifestyle with her husband. They introduce her to the Club where she must undergo a trial session before being allowed to join and take the next step in her journey of discovery.
Her session takes place in the Inner Room of the club and is led by Master Cam, a trainer who just so happens to be the new nurse at Marissa’s hospital. Marissa turns out to be the woman Cam has been waiting for, and the two of them click right awy. Cam is a fabulous Dom. I loved them and their sessions, and I loved that they didn’t play master/sub while not in an actual session or scene. It was nice to see them actually begin their relationship while setting that aspect aside, even if it was for a short period of time.
Unfortunately, most of the growth of their relationship took place off the page. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of that play out in the story, but what we did see was wonderful.
This was a quick, enjoyable read. The scenes were all well done, with not too much of a feel of BDSM 101 even though that was the case for Marissa. You could tell she felt comfortable and trusted Cam, and it was his actions and character that allowed that to happen. This strength is what pulls Marissa through a pretty horrible ordeal when the story takes a bad turn, but it was great to see Cam (with the help of friends) help Marissa through the ordeal and bring the matter to a successful conclusion.
I definitely recommend this story to those who like sexy, erotic romances with a bit of kink. There is one couple that really intrigued me here and who I would love to get their full story – Club onwer, Jack and his partner/sub, Jesse. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that we will see them again.
Overall Impression: I really liked it!
