Blurb: In the world of Regency England, only one thing matters — the begetting of an heir…
There is one fact I cannot hide nor deny. I have borne my husband no sons…
When Lord Jacob Fielding suffers a traumatic injury denying him more children, it devastates both his present and his future. He and his wife Jane have only daughters, and the brother in line to inherit his title and lands is a disgusting reprobate, a man who should never have power over anyone.
In desperation, Lord Fielding formulates a wicked plan. He invites his distant cousin Matthew to come and share their home…and possibly more. Jane is shocked, but cannot deny her curiosity. She loves her husband, and their situation is desperate, and Matthew is a kind, gentle, attractive man. But what can this situation bring, but tension and jealousy?
Emotions and libidos run high as the Fielding men search for a way to satisfy the need for an heir, their own lusts, and, most importantly, the desires of Lady Jane, before time runs out.

Review:
The Private Affairs of Lady Jane Fielding is a series of journal entries that tells the story of Lady Jane Fielding her husband Jacob’s desperate plan to produce an heir.
A year after Jacob receives a severe injury from a horse kick, it’s become evident that he can no longer father children. Without a son, Jacob’s disgusting brother Arthur stands to inherit everything. Jacob refuses to let that ever happen and hatches a plan to convince his distant cousin Matthew to impregnate his wife. But it doesn’t turn out quite like Jacob planned…
If you’ve read the blurb, how can you not already be intrigued? I knew I wanted to read this immediately even though I’ve never been a huge fan of menage.
It was very sexy. Jane and Jacob’s marriage was a love match and they do not hold anything back in the bedroom. There are plenty of sexy scenes between them before Matthew ever arrives.
The menage was very believable at first: from Jane and Matthew’s reservations to Jacob’s extreme jealousy once the deed occurred. But then I felt that Jacob’s quick 360 on sharing his wife with Matthew for more than just one night wasn’t quite as realistic. I can’t say that I’m complaining because the three of them were totally hot together! Plus, I loved how it didn’t really work well between Jane and Matthew without Jacob there.
Warning: There is a pretty graphic non-consensual scene involving Jacob’s brother and a maid. So, heads up if you have any rape triggers.
Why did I knock off half a star? Because I wanted it to be longer! This was a short read and I read it all in one sitting. I’m just greedy and wanted to see more of Jacob and Jane and Matthew together!
I see there are some more stories in the Regency Diaries collection; I loved this author’s writing style so I will definitely be taking a look at some of her other work.
Recommended!
Overall Impression: I Loved It
