Review:
I was really looking forward to this story because the blurb appeared to promise lots of angst. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I was hoping for, and instead, seemed to be more like a gay Pretty Woman, and I was not a fan of that unbelievable fairy tale, either.
Dennis is dying, in pain, and ready to drown himself to end his pathetic existence. Luca is a very dominant Mine-Mine-Mine kind of wealthy businessman who controls every aspect of his life. Lucky for Dennis, Luca happens by as Dennis washes up on the shore and saves him. Dennis is pissed to have a savior, and here is where the story nose-dived for me. Luca doesn’t know Dennis from Adam, yet he is instantly his boy: at the hospital, at home, in life. And Luca barely puts up a fight. Maybe it was the expedited lovey-dovey feel, but I prefer my men to know each other before they claim ownership and forever.
The “dying” aspect threw me a bit. Being a wealthy man, Luca easily could afford the medicine needed to control a dying Dennis…who is no longer dying. He is miraculously healed and yay, he is attracted to Luca too. I missed something, I’m sure.
I apologize for my review, as I know it’s not glowing, and I can’t recommend it, but I feel compelled to let readers know that if they are like me and not into the insta-love and overly fluffy romance, then this might not be for you. However, some readers live for these kinds of romances, so if you want your own sugar daddy love story, then this book is for you.
Overall Impression: It was ok
