Blurb: A search for missing unicorns reveals a Fate that Samuel has only dreamed of before.

When they first meet, Jordan takes Samuel’s breath away—but not in a good way. Jordan knocks Samuel, a gatekeeper from a world called Eden, flat on his ass. In Jordan’s defense, Samuel did freak him out, appearing out of thin air the way he did. Luckily, the appearance of the unicorns preempts a possible fight.

Relieved to have found Eden’s unicorns, Samuel is astonished that Jordan knows about them, despite the fact that their horns have been concealed by magic. Attempting to remove the halters that bind them, Samuel is rendered unconscious.

The question now is how to get the unicorns back to Eden, as well as solve the mystery of who has stolen them to begin with. But just maybe Samuel and Jordan need to deal with this attraction between them that seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. Are their feelings tied in with the mystery of the unicorns?

Review:

When unicorns from Eden are kidnapped, Samuel is tasked with bringing them back. His search takes him to Earth and a little ranch that not only houses the unicorns masquerading as regular horses but a man named Jordan as well, who knows exactly what the unicorns are and who stole them. Unfortunately, the unicorns have cursed halters on that prevent them from going back to Eden and the only way to release the halters is to find the man who created the spell. But when that man proves unwilling to help, Jordan and Samuel might have to take it upon themselves to find another solution.

This was such a cute story! I loved that it was about unicorns and how the author created an interesting world centered around the magic the unicorns bring to it. I also really loved the characters. Jordan’s a bit naive and gullible but he’s also sweet and adorable. He has a gift with horses, which meant the unicorns adored him as well. Samuel is, I wouldn’t say bitter, but more hardened than Jordan and is duty bound to get to the bottom of who the kidnapper is. The story is short so there’s not much of a chance to really get much depth to the story but what there is, I really liked. I could see the connection between Jordan and Samuel the instant Samuel saw Jordan and I liked that.

I thought this was a great little story but it definitely was too short, IMO. I loved the concept of the story, the hints of Eden and the connection between Samuel and Jordan but I just wished it had been longer! I wanted to explore the unknown world, get to know more of Samuel and Jordan, and experience their life more, especially Jordan’s training.

In the end, though, I really liked this one. It’s a quick, sweet story that has a very intriguing world and exactly what I was looking to read. I loved that this dealt with unicorns and Samuel’s task of finding the kidnapped creatures. If you’re looking for something that’s fast-paced, easy to read and a bit intriguing, definitely give this one a try!

Overall Impression: I really liked it!
