Blurb:  Malcolm Tate hung up his flogger when his submissive sought out another Dom and landed in the hands of a serial killer. Convinced his lack of dominance sent his sub away, Mal has spent two years blaming himself for what happened. But when his best friend finally convinces him to go back to the local dungeon, Mal’s grateful. Especially when he wins beautiful, submissive, firmly closeted Kyle Bingham in a charity slave auction.

College grad Kyle hasn’t earned enough to move out of the loft his conservative, homophobic parents bought, much less to buy any of the other things still in their name. When he’s won at auction by the hot, amazing Mal, he’s shocked that anyone would want him. No one else seemed to—not his parents, his former Doms, or any of his disastrous dates.

But Mal does want him and Kyle lets his guard down, only to be outed to his parents. With his world crashing down, he must find a way to trust Mal—and their developing relationship—or risk losing everything.

Review: Malcolm is still feeling guilty over the loss of his sub whom he feels he pushed toward the dom who actually was a serial killer that murdered him. He best friend finally gets him to see how misplaced his guilt is and convinces him to go back to the club scene. It just so happens to fall on the night of a charity sub auction.

This is where Malcolm meets Kyle, a sweet sub that calls to him immediately. Kyle doesn’t have a ton of experience, and what he has isn’t the best. But he quickly sees Malcolm isn’t like his previous Doms and longs for more than just one night. These guys are really sweet together and exactly what each other needs. Kyle has a lot of things to overcome, such as his general feeling of unworth that has been growing for some time. His parents care more about status and image than anything else and are cold to say the least. Unfortunately, they own his condo and the car he drives, so he is somewhat forced to remain closeted where they are concerned for fear of losing it all.

Malcolm works hard to gain Kyle’s trust in the bedroom and out. Their relationship grows and does well until outside issues set them back. They share more of a total D/S relationship, meaning more 24/7 than just playing, although it is made clear Malcolm wants to know Kyle as much, if not more, than the sub. I really enjoyed these guys together and the story moved along at an easy and enjoyable pace. If you like sweet BDSM stories, this one definitely fits that bill. The story focuses on building their relationship and trust with lovely “vanilla” scenes intermingled with the interesting and sometimes intense BDSM scenes.

This was a lovely story about submission and finding compatible love and I definitely recommend it.

Overall Impression: I really liked it
