Blurb: Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle of nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can’t say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.

Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there’s nothing pretend about their relationship.

blogger_bee_transReview:

When Jeremy walks into a bar in the middle of nowhere, he only expects to have a quiet drink and that be it. Instead he meets the bartender, Reg, who’s as easy-going and friendly as Jeremy has ever met. After a long night of drinking, Jeremy offers Reg a once and a life time chance: go on tour with him and get to see the world. How can Reg refuse that when he’s such an adventure-seeker? As the months progress, though, can the two be more than just friends when Jeremy’s supposedly straight?

I absolutely ADORED these guys. Jeremy, while a big time rock star who’s face covers all the gossip magazines, is a bit of a snob but surprisingly naive and innocent when it comes to the real world. He’s only known the Hollywood life and really has no idea how ‘real’ people act. Reg is his exact opposite, being very laid-back, gentle and experienced in all the crap the world has to offer. The two are opposites but that’s exactly why Jeremy asks Reg to be his pretend boyfriend. Not only does Jeremy get Reg’s companionship on a tour that lasts much longer than he’s up for but Reg’s able to pull Jeremy back when he starts to get a little out of control.

They’re a very cute couple and I loved that Reg takes Jeremy out into the world to explore all the cities his music tour stops at. I really loved the fact that this was such a slow burn romance. At first, they’re just friends. After all, Jeremy is straight and while Reg is gay, he doesn’t advertise it. As the story progresses, though, Reg knows Jeremy will end up being his and waits him out while Jeremy slowly starts getting curious about all the gorgeous man he’s with has to offer. This story had a really nice, slow pace to it that fit the characters and their relationship well. It wasn’t about sex for them but instead about love. It was so sweet!

This book was just about perfect. My only big issue was that you realize pretty early on who the ‘villain’ is. Not only that but you realize he’s the one sabotaging Jeremy and Reg, even after he was supposedly ‘dealt with’ at first, he still pops up, which made me constantly wonder… why? He had no connections with Jeremy anymore, yet he kept causing problems for Jeremy and the reason for why he couldn’t leave Jeremy alone never got answered… at least not that I remember.

In the end, though. This is DEFINITELY my favorite Cardeno C. book. I loved it so much that I literally was consumed with this novel for a good five hours. I adored the characters and their slow development from friends to lovers. By the end of the story, I felt like I knew them. This is a sweet, slow-burn romance that is just that… a romance. It was light and funny in some places and just heavy enough in others but most of all, it was engaging and had a nice flow to it. I already feel the urge to re-read it!!

Overall Impression: I loved it!

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*
