Blurb: A short story set just after the end of The Magpie Lord. Stephen Day and Lord Crane return to London. Neither is quite sure where their fledgling relationship is going. It seems unlikely that there can be much of a future for them, under the circumstances, with Stephen going back to work and Crane returning to China. Until they encounter an unexpected moment of magic…
Review:
Sooooo, I’ve been hanging on to this little story for a while…wanted to save it to read in preparation for A Case of Possession, the sequel to The Magpie Lord.  And if you haven’t read THAT yet, you MUST add it to your TBR list STAT; its one of my favorite reads for 2013.  Flawless!

It’s the day after all the excitement went down at Piper…umm, and you remember what happened there, right?  On the desk?  I’ve read that final chapter AT LEAST 5 times!  Crane and Stephan have returned to London and Stephen is a bit conflicted on how to deal with The Council.  And then there is this interesting new “thing” happening between Stephan and Crane…

Crane took his hand and kissed the fingers.  “If you must leave, you must.  When will you be back?”
“Back?”
“Here.  Where I am.  So I can see more of you.  As if there was anything I hadn’t seen, but you take my meaning.”
“Oh.  I hadn’t thought – “
“Had you not?”  Crane arched a brow.  “I do trust you aren’t going to suggest we stop fucking.  We’ve only just started.”

So it looks like Crane and Stephan aren’t nearly over yet.  In fact, they’ve only just begun.  As I hoped, there’s some good smexiness and a bit of humor…and some freakier things happening with Crane’s tattoos.  I LOVED the notes at the end; damn I didn’t want it to end!

I don’t want to listen to Merrick, but I can’t help from being worried about what’s going to happen next…

This is a perfect interlude in an amazing new series!  A Case of Possession releases soon on January 18, 2014.  Keep an eye out for my review.

Overall Impression: I Loved It!
