Blurb: He let her father chase him off once, but this time nothing is getting in his way.

Fletcher Stone was forced out of the pack life, and now he makes his living as a hired thug, living day-to-day without honour or commitments. Shame over his choices and his lifestyle keep him from returning to the pack to claim Delaney — the woman who holds his heart. But when a rival pack hires him to kidnap her, Fletcher takes his chance. Now he must convince her that he never wanted to leave…and reveal a betrayal that will break her heart.

Delaney Jones has spent the last five years convinced the man she loves is dead. Nothing else would keep him from her. So when Fletcher shows up, whole, healthy, and very much alive, she’s devastated — and pissed off. He broke her heart once and he’s never going to get close enough to do it again.

This story starts out strong.  Fletcher has always been a bit of a lone wolf.  Thrown out of his own pack at a very young age for being scarred and seen as weak.  He met Delaney, and they became fast friends, eventually becoming much more.  Unfortunately, Delaney’s father and pack alpha had other plans, and they did not include Fletcher being a part of them.  Thus, Fletcher was, once again, forced to leave the pack and love of his life, Delaney.  Five years later, Fletcher has now returned to claim Delaney.  Due to circumstances surrounding his departure, Fletcher has now kidnapped Delaney in hopes he can save her from her ruthless father and his scheming plans while securing his mate bond with her.

Delaney is a bit of a spitfire and takes some convincing to even hear Fletcher out.  This part got a little drawn out for me, but perhaps I was just as impatient as Delaney to hear his reasoning and excuses.  Before long, the story picks up the pace as the truth is revealed and the cause of all Delaney’s heartbreak is realized.  Fletch and Laney are hot together, and there is a good bit of snarky banter to go along with the smexiness.  There is not an overabundance of sex, but definitely enough to whet your whistle.  The rest of the story flies by as Laney confronts her scheming father and his cohorts.

This was a very fast, very enjoyable read for me.  It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book in this genre, and for me to find this one so enjoyable is saying a lot.  It is was well-written and easy to follow.  I really wish it had been longer and a bit more fleshed out, as a few parts felt a bit rushed.  However, this is a fantastic story from a first-time author that I recommend you give a try.  I know I will surely be keeping an eye out for more after this very promising start.

Overall Impression: I really liked it

Thanks Jen! I plan to read this later today. I met this author via another site years ago and I loved her “random writing” back then! Very excited for her to get a book out to the masses!
