Blurb: The sexy chipmunk shifter isn’t afraid of the dentist; he’s in love with him.
Phillip has the best job working at the Paranormal Dentistry for the Fanged and Friendly. As a chipmunk shifter, Phillip has seen handsome men walk through the door but none so gorgeous as his boss and wolf shifter, Dr. Gunner Samuels. When he finds himself being manipulated by his best friend to ask the big bad wolf over for dinner, Phillip realizes his biggest dilemma, he’s never cooked a day in his life, let alone meat. Can Phillip pull off a fabulous dinner for two? And has Gunner had his eye on the sexy shifter all this time?
Review:
This little story was absolutely adorable! With the prospect of a new job, Phillip is all too eager to move to a new state to work in a town filled with all types of shifters. What Phillip didn’t expect, though, was the wolf shifter who just so happens to be his future sexy boss, Dr. Gunner Samuels. Phillip feels more than just lust when it comes to the hunky wolf and in an attempt to push the two together, Phillip’s best friend invites the boss over for a dinner that Phillip has to cook. There’s just two problems, Phillip doesn’t know how to cook… and he’s a vegetarian.
I loved that this story is filled with so many clever one-liners. It had me chuckling often because of the mix of humor and funny animal characteristics. As a wolf, Gunner can’t help but sniff Phillip and as a chipmunk, Phillip can’t help but hoard nuts and other foods. It was a good mix of cute and funny that kept a smile on my face throughout the story.
With those little attributes, I found the characters very endearing. I just loved Phillip’s stammering over talking to Gunner about anything not related to work but I also loved that Gunner found so much amusement in Phillip’s awkwardness. It’s… well, adorable. I’m not sure how else to describe it! It’s also very sweet the way that Gunner wants to cherish and care for Phillip.
While I enjoyed the story it was just too darn short! I loved the chemistry between Gunner and Phillip but I wished there had been more meat to the story to really give that connection some justice. As it is, I didn’t exactly feel the love that the characters claimed to have. There were also some moments that I would have loved to see instead of being told about.
All in all, an adorably funny story about a chipmunk and a wolf who just happen to work together. Add to that a vegetarian trying to make dinner for a wolf who craves meat and this story is bound to give you a few laughs. For those looking for something quick, funny and cute, give this one a try because it definitely fits the bill!
Overall Impression: I liked it!
