Blurb: Ever since Reggie’s garage became part of a popular reality show, business has been booming. As much as he hates playing games with the network, at least he doesn’t have to worry about his bottom line anymore.

As the show’s lowest-ranking producer, Wes is tasked with proposing a new spinoff show to Reggie. He has a hard enough time looking the sexy mechanic in the eye on a normal day, but this time, he’s holding cards he can’t show. With execs breathing down his neck, he’s there to pitch a show he knows Reggie will never agree to do, even if his refusal puts his existing show on the line.

The network is counting on Reggie refusing to sign. But they’re not counting on their messenger falling for the man they’re trying to fire…

Review:

Well, I enjoyed this little short story. Set in the same garage as Marie Sexton’s Normal Enough, Wrenches, Regrets and Reality Checks is about Reggie, the garage owner and star of the TV reality show Wrench Wars. Well, actually, he is no longer the star and the network wants Reggie’s garage off of the show (I have no idea why) and has sent Wes over to inform Reggie he will have to participate in a dating type spin-off series or Reggie will be in breach of contract.

There’s some good tension between Reggie and Wes and when they finally hook up, its decently smexy. Okay, yeah, its HOT!

There isn’t a whole lot going on in this story other than the network/contract conflict which get resolved pretty easily, and comically at that. Wes and Reggie end up with a good HFN, but I believe a HEA is still possible for them.

I did have an issue with Kasey, the MC from Normal Enough. He didn’t really match up with what we know about him from reading his story. I’m assuming this story takes place at a later date…and maybe he has evolved…?

Overall Impression: I Liked It!

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*
