Blurb: Andy Finnegan is a six foot three brown-haired, blue-eyed, Mack f*cking truck. A former marine who spends his nights dancing for your entertainment, he has a dark side hiding beneath the beautiful veneer.

Sweet little Stefan is awestruck by the big, gorgeous dancer with the rock hard abs and the lonely eyes. Determined to see what lurks behind the perfect surface, he gets a little more than he bargained for.

blogger_bee_transReview:

This story wasn’t nearly long enough! I wanted so much more but feel like I only got the appetizer. Andy is a former marine with quite a few issues. He is dancing and hoping to make it into porn in order to pay the bills. He appears to be surrounded by other former marines who all share the same understanding of what each other has been and is still going through. He goes to work one night, hoping to catch the eye of a porn producer, but he doesn’t count on meeting Stefan.

Stefan is a really sweet college guy who has been a bit mesmerized by Andy. But, he sees right through Andy’s façade. He sees the trouble and loneliness and wants to learn more about the causes of it. When circumstances cause Andy to lose his temper and his job, Stefan is there standing by his side.

We learn a bit about Andy and his struggles, most involving his time in the military, but it felt like it only scratched the surface. Unfortunately, we really don’t get to learn too much about Stefan. As I said at the beginning, this really felt like an appetizer. What we do get is well written and interesting, but I really wish this was more of a full story.

Overall Impression: I really liked it

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*

  1. Excited to read this one; I really enjoyed book #1 in this series.

It’s really short. That was my biggest issue. It really felt like there was a much bigger story to be told.

  2. Andrea M

I love J.P. Barnaby’s writing but can’t see buying something so short for the cost. I had looked forward to this book so much but just can’t do it.
