Blurb: Deadly poison…or exquisite cure?
Noah fell from an eighth story balcony as a toddler, cracking open his skull and shattering his body. The accident would’ve killed a human, but even shifter blood can’t heal some damage. After the pack recommended a mercy killing, Noah’s family ran. But there’s no outrunning the mating pact formed before Noah’s birth.
Wade, the new alpha, chooses an adult Noah to fulfill the pact. Wade believes the previous alpha was a fool to reject Noah as a weak and inferior wolf, but Noah’s family was wrong to hide him and starve his wolf, too. Human doctors with human medicines are poison to shifter physiology. Now that Noah is fully grown, halting his shift to retain the pins, plates, and bars holding him together hurts rather than helps him, and for Wade, more than Noah’s recovery is at stake.
Noah’s family sacrificed everything to keep him alive. Noah will do whatever it takes to save them—including mate with the alpha who is determined to correct past mistakes and defeat old prejudices contaminating the shifter community.
Too bad some still believe Noah is the true poison…and should be culled from the pack for good.

Review:
What an interesting spin on this not so typical shifter story. I was intrigued by the blurb and captivated throughout; not wanting Noah to suffer, but not wanting a miracle ending either. I wasn’t disappointed.
I felt the pain and suffering that Noah’s family was dealing with by leaving the pack in order to save their young son. I felt Noah’s pain of trying to live with a broken body and his wolf that was locked inside, never allowed to shift because of the damaged human body. It was quite literally a painful read, but I really enjoyed it and hope there is a sequel.
Wade is an incredible Alpha and his intentions with Noah, though initially appearing harsh, were actually quite admirable. The fact that he made a statement by mating with Noah, even though it was by force, was the catalyst to a better life for the poor guy. He had no qualms about sexing up the poor guy…and Noah LOVED it.
Noah’s family tried so hard for him. They risked it all to save him and having the new Alpha rip Noah from their home was quite brutal. I was glad to read a story where the family actually stood by their kin instead of kicking them out or abandoning him. Noah was very fortunate to have them. However, I was surprised they didn’t fight a little harder at the initially claiming.
All in all, it was a pleasurable read and one that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. I read many shifter stories and after awhile they tend to run together. Reading about a handicap wolf shifter who has a wolf that can’t walk was quite different and Noah will forever have a place in my heart.
Overall Impression: I really liked it
