Blurb: Can a kidnapped fairy and a human find love despite all odds?

Nathan Alexander’s batty aunt has done it again. This time she’s sent him a rare plant he doesn’t want. Imagine his surprise when he finds a kidnapped fairy hidden within its leaves. As a man who heads a non-profit organization for abused women and children, Nathan makes it his mission to help her find her way home.

All her life Katenia was warned about the evilness of humans. Never was that proved more true than when she was kidnapped from her quiet valley home. Thrust into the human world, Katenia must fight her very instincts to trust Nathan if she ever hopes to return to her rightful place…and to her normal thumb-sized fairy form.

But with their lives in danger, finding home…and love…will be a journey worthy of a fairy tale.

Review:

When Nathan receives yet another plant from his crazy aunt, he doesn’t expect a thumb-sized fairy to come out of it. Convinced he’s losing his mind, it doesn’t take long before the little fairy gets Nathan to take her home with him. Unfortunately, the unthinkable happens on the way and Katenia goes from a tiny little fairy to a fully grown human in the blink of an eye. Now Nathan has to help Katenia figure out what happened and how to change her back but while their time together is short, that doesn’t stop the flames from igniting between them. But when the time comes for Katenia to return home, will she chose the life she once knew or the man she’s come to love?

Awww, this book was so adorable! Katenia and Nathan together are definitely hot but I loved that they were so different. Nathan is this big burly man who’s aggressive and possessive, not to mention growly! While Katenia is this little slip of a thing who has no idea what is going on. The simplest phrases would confuse her and that confusion was so cute! Nathan was extremely tolerant of Katenia’s adjustment and I loved that he didn’t fault her for not knowing most human euphemisms. At the same time, I liked that Katenia was such a spitfire and was at her strongest when defending Nathan against other people. So cute!

I adored this simple, funny story but its not without its faults. Mostly, I just have a bunch of questions like who kidnapped Katenia? Was it Nathan’s aunt? If so, why did she kidnap Katenia? To what purpose was sending Katenia to Nathan supposed to accomplish? And then, if she did intentionally send Katenia to Nathan then why was she surprised when Katenia turned human-sized? How did Katenia change size? Why didn’t Mellie (the aunt) stop Nathan’s evil ex from going all psycho on Nathan and why didn’t she notice the ex was a witch before? So many questions unanswered and then even more in the fact that Nathan’s personality was sometimes the exact opposite of what he would claim he avoided. He supposedly didn’t yell at women but it seemed like a big chunk of the book was of him doing a lot of yelling at females.

In the end, though, I still liked this one. It was fun to say the least and had a ton of amusing moments. I loved Katenia’s innocence and confusion but I also liked that Nathan couldn’t resist the little fairy. The premise of Katenia trying to acclimate to being human-sized and the two trying to fight their developing love gave the book a light-hearted feel to it. A really good story and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author. If you’re looking for something short, fun and light, definitely give this one a try.

Overall Impression: I liked it
