Blurb: Thomas Grayson is young, handsome and in prison. If he wants to survive he only has one choice—find someone who will take care of him. Neil Booker is perfect for the job, but Grayson must be willing to pay the price.
Grayson has never been with a man and isn’t thrilled about being a prison bitch but he’d rather be with Booker than be abused by other convicts. He takes to it easier than expected and actually enjoys his time with Booker.
The roles are changed when Booker is paroled and Grayson gets his own boytoy. However, he can’t forget about Booker, not even when he finally goes home.
Review:
So, yeah, I’ll admit, I grabbed this one after one glace at the title figuring the blurb was pretty much self-explanatory. I was hoping for some down and dirty, gritty prison sex turns love story, or not, and this one sounded like it fit the bill.
It was a fast read, though probably almost too fast. I understood Thomas’ desire to find protection pretty quickly, but was a little surprised at how easily he took to it. Not to mention how easy it was for the action to take place. This story leads you to believe these guys are living it up pretty well, considering they’re locked up and all. They basically just have sex with whomever, whenever and wherever the mood strikes.
For some reason, I felt quite a disconnect between Thomas and Booker through most of their encounters. Then, when the story changes up a bit, and the roles are reversed with Thomas becoming a protector, it was like starting all over again. I wish we had seen more of a buildup to Thomas and Booker’s relationship. As it was, I could see them together but just couldn’t get on board with the connection.
But, this is a fast-paced, smutty afternoon delight of a read, if that’s what you’re in the mood for. It doesn’t ever really get very harsh, aside from a few forced scenes, and it does end with a HEA. I enjoyed it but wish there were more to sink my teeth into.
Overall Impression: I liked it
