Blurb: This wandering spider will pursue his mate, knowing he’s walking into the very heart of danger.

Boone has kept it no secret that he wants Julius for his own. Hell, he’s pursued the guy relentlessly from the moment he saw an assassin lying in wait to harm Julius. Now, Boone has one mission, to go with his friend, TL, and unite the fire ants to their cause of getting loved ones and Mission Territory back. However, there’s no way Boone will leave his mate, knowing that even at the hive, Julius could be taken from him. So, now, he will have no choice but to bring the man he loves into the heart of danger.

Review:

Learning that Reef from the Pacific Territory in Venom City has Kalder’s and the wasp queen’s brothers, everyone is determined to get them back. Unfortunately, to do that, they’ll need more help from the Fire Ants meaning Julius, Boone, TL and Cash are tasked with getting their assistance. Julius has no idea why he’s going on this mission except for the fact that Boone won’t leave him behind. Julius doesn’t believe Boone’s his mate but Boone’s determined to change his mind and this mission just might be the perfect opportunity to do so.

I swear, I’m addicted to this series! I don’t know what it is about it but I’m just loving each story so much. The world in general is awesome, with all its venomous creatures and I really love that each story uncovers a different type of venom. This one has Fire Ants and we also got to see some Black Mambas and learn a bit about who is behind certain venomous tortures. I really liked Julius and Boone as characters, though. Boone, in previous books, is just the creepy stalker LOL. Seriously, he watches Julius sleep and it’s very odd but he’s just trying to protect his mate, which I found very sweet. I also loved that while Julius was normally shy, he had no issues with standing up to Boone and telling him to back off. They’re ADORABLE together!

As with the previous stories, I wished this one had been much longer. I loved the fact that Boone, Julius, Cash & TL were going to the Ants to ask for help but I wished we had gotten more in-depth with them, the journey and the characters. Mostly, I wish there had been more depth to the connection between Boone and Julius. Julius was so adamant he wasn’t going to be Boone’s mate but there wasn’t much of a focus on Julius changing his mind and I just wish there had been more of a struggle with that.

Overall, this was still a great short story. I’m definitely loving this series and with each story, there’s more and more of the world uncovered, more characters introduced and more of the overall plot unveiled. Everything is moving along at a fast pace and I can’t wait to read the next book and seeing which couple will get their story.

Overall Impression: I really liked it!
