So I was asking around looking for something “sexy” and “fun” to read and my friend Ami gave me the most PERFECT recommendation!
The conversation went like this:
Ami: Oh, have you read Lana McGregor?
HC: Nope
Ami: It has D/s situation but it is so hot and sexy because the boys were awkward together. It is friends to lovers. I loved it. It is basically smutty but this is one case where the sex scenes work so well, and you know how I feel about sex scenes. LOL
HC: Ohh, What’s it called?!
Ami: His Roommate’s Pleasure. Hopefully it works for you. The sensuality is through the roof. I loved how they both were not exactly experienced in D/s so they tried to learn it together. It was sweet and sexy.
I was sold…immediately!
*Fast-forward a few hours*
All of a sudden it’s 3 am and I had just read the hottest, kinkiest book in…I can’t even remember how long!! Obviously, I don’t read a lot of erotica, but this had STORY too; and is easily the steamiest book I’ve ever read published by Carina Press.
Oh man, from start to end it was a sexy, intense exploration of Adam and Josh’s secret desires…desires they have only just discovered. It doesn’t get hardcore or anything, just some spanking/paddling, control and a little humiliation. Neither of them have any experience at all, but they know what turns them on when they see it. I loved how they took their time discussing and planning out their “scenes” to ensure the safest route to pleasure.
This is a college roommates-to-lovers story; they were never really friends before they started having sex. Adam is a bit nerdy, majoring in philosophy and Josh is a jock…so there was the whole we-have-nothing-in-common trope tied in with the we-are-only-fuck-buddies understanding. Oh, I forgot to mention Josh is still in the closet and doesn’t appear to have any intentions of coming out soon! See, the usual, predictable college story told over again…with added kink. Not that I’m complaining because I can read this kind of story over and over again.
Four stars because it ended TOO FAST! I wanted to know more about the characters outside of the bedroom and what the future REALLY holds for Adam and Josh now that they are “boyfriends”.
Ami gets a cookie for this recommendation!
