Review:

Antoine is out traveling when his airship is attacked by pirates. The next thing he knows, he’s aboard the Bloody Aria as a hostage. Scared and confused, Captain Rivas opens his eyes to a whole new world where he works everyday as a pirate and sees the world in a way he never thought he’d be able to. But the more time Antoine spends with Rivas, the more his feelings develop for not just the rogue captain but the freedom of being a pirate. But what will happen after Antoine’s ransom is paid?

Oh, how I LOVED this book! First, I just want to say that you don’t need to read book one in this series to read this one. They are completely standalone stories and the only thing connecting them, I believe, is the world they’re based in. Now, my favorite parts of this book is the chemistry between Antoine and Rivas and the secondary characters. I just adored the fact that Rivas had some morals while being an infamous pirate and Antoine was pretty much having his dreams come true. I loved that Rivas was so sweet but rough and Antoine was so wide-eyed and innocent. They’re complete opposites but make a lovely couple, so cute together!

The only thing that could of made this book even better is seeing how Rivas settled into his new ‘identity’ at the end of the book. I just wanted to see where things actually went from there.

All in all, this was an AMAZING book! I absolutely loved it! I adored both Rivas and Antoine and I really love the adventure Rivas took Antoine on. I loved that while Rivas had Antoine kidnapped, it ended up being exactly what Antoine was missing in his life but it was just great to see the chemistry between Antoine and Rivas. I also love this author’s writing because it was just so smooth and captivating. I can’t wait to see what Lorraine has coming out next but really hope there’s more to come of this series.

Overall Impression: I loved it!

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*
