Blurb: Buckle up – Matty’s back!

Figure skater Matty Marcus didn’t capture Olympic gold, but he won rancher Rob Lovely’s heart.

After Rob sold his ranch and Matty hung up his skates, they started a new life together in New York City. Now Matty has taken on a fresh challenge as a figure skating coach, and Rob’s second career as a physical therapist should be everything he’s dreamed of. But in the brutal heat of their third summer in the city, Rob yearns for the wide-open country, and the intensity of city life awakens Matty’s demons.

Matty asks for increasingly intense BDSM scenes, and his disordered eating and erratic behavior ramp up the stakes. Rob struggles to stay in control, and after a well-intentioned anniversary gift goes awry, he still thinks he can handle the fallout. But the concrete jungle is closing in and his coping skills are unraveling.

Their love is deep, but Rob will have to admit the truth about what he really wants before they both tumble into chaos.

Review: In the sequel of the love affair between Matty and Rob we find that the guys are still madly in love but are each dealing with their own set of demons. It seems as if the guys just can’t catch a break, but at least we know that they have each other to fall back on…well, after Matty gets over his own selfish needs first. I know many will think I am being cold-hearted towards to Matty, but the fact that Rob knew every issue affecting Matty, but Matty had no idea that Rob was so unhappy leads me to believe that Matty always put himself first.

I felt for Matty, I really did. His self mental abuse is a very real issue that he needed help to control, but he got way too needy for me. I just wanted Rob to force feed him, spank him, and send him to his room, because he really was acting like a spoiled rotten brat. Who knew that getting spanked was what Matty really wanted all along? Matty and Rob had a healthy sex life, but it takes a turn to the worse and becomes very uncomfortable for Rob. You knows it’s bad when the Top calls his safeword. Poor Rob had had enough.

Rob just broke my heart. He was not a city boy and New York was killing him. He needed the quiet, the fresh air, and Matty. Sounds like an easy wish list, but unfortunately Matty was a city boy and had no desire to move on. I was foreseeing a short term split for the guys, but I am happy to report that didn’t happen. I was so thrilled when the opportunity presented itself for both of them to get what they wanted. If these two teach you anything, it’s to never give up on your dreams. The impossible is always possible if you both put the needs of the other first.

Overall Impression: I really liked it

*I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.*
