Blurb: Dashing von Stride has one thing on his mind: winning the window display contest for the Miracle on Main Christmas Contest. His plans are set and ready—and then he walks into his toy store, Reindeer Games, to find a sleigh that shouldn’t be there. The mystery sleigh sparks a new plan, however, and now all Dash needs is the perfect Santa to model his display after.
This year, the pranks with his reindeer have gotten out of hand. Instead of preparing for the Big Day, Niklaus Kringle is hunting for his missing sleigh. Locating it should have been easy, but games easily won are seldom worth playing…
Dash walks into his store one day and sees a magical sleigh sitting right in the middle of it. Not knowing who left it, the sleigh sparks a great idea for the window display contest coming up but now he’s still missing his Santa model. As son of Santa, Nik’s supposed to be preparing for the Big Day but his mischievous reindeer decides to play some games instead of hides his sleigh in Dash’s shop. When Nik meets Dash, though, there’s more than just an instant attraction between them.
A. FREAKING. ADORABLE. Oh my god, this story was so cute!!! I absolutely loved how it started and the fact that Dash ended up being some long-lost decedent of some hidden elves. It was nice seeing Nik trying to explain Dash’s heritage to him and how Dash took it. At the same time, I really liked that there was such an instant connection between Nik and Dash. There’s also a few moments in this story that had me cracking up!
I loved this book so much! But the ending was so abrupt, I felt like I was missing something. I wanted more to the story, I wanted to see the window display contest play out. I wanted to see where things go now… how long will Nik & Dash stay… I just wanted MORE because the ending was so sudden.
All in all, this was a great little xmas story. I absolutely loved that Nik’s reindeer unknowingly (or was it?) left Nik’s sleigh in Dash’s shop and that there was such a huge draw between them. I wish there had been more to the story but really hope it’s not the last we see of these characters!
Overall Impression: I really liked it!
