Blurb: Noel Nicholas is on a sabbatical from the North Pole realm. Back home he’s known as the Son of Santa, but in the human world, he’s a university student and he likes living in anonymity. Only Ruby, his cupid friend from the Eros realm, knows his true identity. That is, until Fannar, the gorgeous ice-sprite from the Pole, shows up unexpectedly. This causes Noel’s suppressed and unrequited crush on Fannar to return full force. However, there are more pressing matters at hand—Noel’s father has taken an extended vacation but cannot be found, and there’s only a month until Christmas.
As Noel is finishing his semester at school and he hasn’t seen his father in months, Mrs. Claus has tasked Fannar with finding Santa. Fannar keeps in touch with Noel but comes around far more often than necessary. It’s not helping Noel’s ability to hide his feelings… but as it turns out, they may not be as one-sided as Noel originally believed.
Three years ago, Noel took a break from the North Pole and decided to become a student in the human world. Since then, he’s been left alone but when Santa disappears, Mrs. Claus asks Fannar to try and find him. Fannar does his best to track Santa down and that means seeing if Santa’s Son has heard from him. Unfortunately, Noel hasn’t but that doesn’t stop Fannar from trying to stick around and spend time with Noel. Noel doesn’t understand why and all his old feelings for Fannar are coming back, making him grumpy but with a little help, Noel might just realize the real reason for Fannar being around.
Oh my god, I absolutely LOVED this story! I loved how grumpy Noel was and how flighty Fannar was but I also enjoyed how they circled around each other. But the biggest reason I adored this book is because it was different than the traditional Santa book. In this one, Fannar was an elf who went on missions while Noel, as the son of Santa, had a different power than Santa himself. He HELPED people find the right present, which I found very refreshing and creative. The only thing that could have made this book better is if it were a novel!
All in all, this was probably my favorite story of the Advent Calendar this year. I couldn’t get enough of the connection between Fannar and Noel and I loved that this story was a little different than the traditional Santa tale. Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for a cute, Xmas story and I’ll definitely be reading more from this author!!
Overall Impression: I loved it!
