Blurb: Creigh Delacroix works for a sadistic man, one who likes to humiliate his employees every chance he gets. Confused by the desire he feels when one of his co-workers is made a spectacle of, he can’t ignore the driving lust. Creigh does his work and usually stays out of the line of fire, but when he breaks the rules, he’s the one kneeling at his boss’ feet, his heart pumping.
CFO Gabriel Etienne has always tried to balance his brother’s aggressive behavior, but when he sees Creigh on his knees—and clearly enjoying it—he’s intrigued by the quiet man.
A mysterious coin shows up on Creigh’s desk—an invitation to the most exclusive BDSM club in all of New Orleans, Le Cachot.
Creigh can’t ignore his curiosity and goes willingly… and ends up serving a new master.
Welcome to Level One of Le Cachot…
Review: Creigh works as a programmer at a company run by two brothers, Martin and Gabriel. Martin is rather cold and ruthless lording over his employees. When Creigh’s tardiness puts him in the crosshairs of Martin, he is surprised by his reaction to the humiliation. It does not go unnoticed by Gabriel, however, who then invites Creigh to a private BDSM club.
Creigh is a bit confused but realizes he has been missing something in his sex life. He takes a chance and follows the clues given by the token left by Gabriel and decides to see what it is all about.
Gabriel is a Master at the private club, La Cachot, which is pretty high end and quite elite as BDSM clubs go. He shows Creigh a little bit of the club, going as far as Level One (there are 9 levels I believe, each representing a different level of kink). Creigh isn’t gay, but his apparent need to be humiliated and mastered takes over and he basically just goes with it. He has a lot to think about when Gabriel offers to show him more, and I was happy to see he was having at least some concerns or misgivings about the whole situation.
Setting aside the beginning rather unbelievable bit with Martin, I really liked this series opener. Gabriel is super hot, sees something in Creigh and is willing to be what Creigh needs to explore his newfound kinkier side. Creigh is a great character as well, and they have some great dialog. While they proceed under the premise of merely seeking pleasure, it is easy to see how these two could become more.
This was a really quick read, which was exactly what I was looking for and left me longing to jump right into the next one to see how these guys are progressing. I’m not completely sure how this author slipped under my radar for so long, but I’m definitely looking forward to catching up with more of Kelex’ stories.
Overall Impression: I really liked it
