Blurb: A staggering transformation has put the Psy, humans, and changelings at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: old enemies, new allies, wary loners.
But a century of distrust and suspicion can’t be so easily forgotten, and it threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman’s cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: a child who is both Psy…and changeling.
To find the lost and protect the vulnerable—and to save Trinity—no one can stand alone. This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?
Review:
It’s no secret that I love this series. It’s one of my favorite series AND one of my favorite authors so when I saw this was coming out I was so excited I couldn’t contain myself! Then when I started it, I wanted to savor every single word because IT WAS AMAZING! I won’t go into much detail on what the story is because so much goes on, which is par for this series.
What I will say is that this is like a ‘recap’ of where all the couples are at while still progressing the overall premise of the series. It shows how far the world has come and the alliances now between psy, changeling and humans. Add to that, this one has a little bit of mystery to it as they try to find a kidnapped changeling.
I just adored getting back to all the couples and seeing everyone all over again, though. While we usually get to see certain ‘prominent’ couples in each book, this one actually showed how most of the couples we don’t normally see are doing. Such as Clay and Talin, Ashaya and Dorian, even Dev and Katya! There were so many moments when I was like “OMG, I totally forgot this happened to these people!” We also get to see Mercy when she’s 8+ months pregnant and all the cute babies that have been born since the series started!
In the end, this was such a great book, I’m still giddy from reading it! I loved, loved, loved seeing my favorite couples again and more of the BlackSea changelings. This book still has the characteristic intrigue and suspense to it. I absolutely CANNOT wait to see who gets their story next! Definitely give this a go if you’ve enjoyed the other books!
Overall Impression: I loved it!!!!
