Blurb: There’s no such thing as a Happily Ever After.

Special Agent Drew Walker thought he’d never return to Tennessee after that horrific Christmas. Two and a half years later, a serial killer with a strange fascination with mutilation drags him into Nathan Truman’s jurisdiction once again.

For Nathan Truman having the ‘Feeb’ around dredges up a past, he would prefer to forget. For nearly three years, he’s been able to put it all behind him and focus on his career, family, and Quinn.

The past few years have done Quinn Anders a world of good. He’s happy, healthy, sober, and raising his daughter with the love of his life.

As the days pass and tensions flare it becomes obvious that the events of that night, all those years ago, never truly ended for one of them.

The secrets and lies that bind the three may just destroy them all.

Review: I don’t think I’ve been this traumatized by a book since Beyond Complicated rocked my world a few years back. Funny how it’s the same author both times. I am still reeling from the hardcore, gritty, and sometimes scary loving these guys get up to. If you could even call some of it loving. Seriously, this book will hit all the buttons for some readers, and send others to the looney bin. I was somewhere firmly in the middle. Kind of horrified but couldn’t look away. What does that even say about me? Quinn and Nathan are amazing characters, and I am still on the fence about Drew…even by the end of this book. I kind of want it to remain just Quinn and Nate, but we shall see.

The first book was not a cake-walk. It was angsty and heartbreaking. But this book takes all that and exponentially ratchets up the drama, angst, the heartbreak, the violence, the hardcore sex, the cheating (which will be a deal breaker for some, but this book would not exist without it), and the love. After I spent hours being knocked on my ass, over and over again, I was once again left thinking our boys are going to okay. They are going to be more than okay, they’d survived horror and relationship troubles and overcame all of those obstacles and still won…and then I saw there was a third book coming out and my heart flip flopped all over again. What the hell can Mercy Celeste do to them now? I am almost afraid to read it, but I know I will be all-in once it hits the shelf. And I know many of you readers, who love the nasty that comes with this author, will be lined up right beside me.

I really don’t want to go into details. Nothing I write could even come close to detailing the emotional blow this book delivers. It is a real love-hate relationship but at the end the love reigns supreme. So, yeah, I definitely recommend this book but make sure you have your big girl panties on because you will not come out of this one unscathed.

Overall Impression: I loved it!

*I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.*
