Review:
I absolutely ADORED this book! I was drawn in right from the start and couldn’t put it down. I loved that it had to do with ‘baby shifters’ trying to make it in a society where baby shifters were considered too precious to make their own decisions. It was interesting to see how Nicholas tried to hide his shifter status because he didn’t want someone controlling his life. At the same time, I loved that Sam was drawn to Nicholas right from the start. He knew that Nicholas was keeping a secret but had no idea that Sam was so drawn to Nicholas because of being a baby shifter and mates. It was adorable seeing the push and pull between them and what finally pushes them to really give a relationship a try. Add to that, I absolutely could not get enough of Nicholas in baby shifter form. IT WAS SO FREAKING CUTE. I want a little kit of my own now! Plus, I just loved how Sam and the other adult shifters handled the baby shifters and how careful, but not dominating, they were towards them. I just couldn’t get enough!
My only big issue with this one is that Nicholas was a bit of a…. brat towards the end. That’s not really the right word but he definitely lived up to the temperament of a baby shifter… even when he wasn’t shifted. I found that odd when it happened because before then, he was such a strong character who refused to let any of his baby shifter tendencies show then all of a sudden, he kind of just forgot he was a strong shifter and embraced his whining and squealing. It was a bit disconcerting when it happened.
All in all, though, I absolutely loved this book. I loved Nicholas and Sam as characters and really enjoyed seeing them dance around their attraction. I also loved all the secondary characters and just had so much fun with this book! If you’re looking for something a little outside the shifter norm that was just a ball of fun, definitely give this one a try!
