Blurb: His mother. His best friend. The barmaid at the local pub. Everyone is determined to find Nathan Moffatt a boyfriend. It’s the last thing Nathan wants. After spending every day making sure his clients experience nothing but romantic magic, the Granshire Hotel’s wedding organiser just wants to go home, binge watch crime dramas, and eat pizza in his underwear.

Unfortunately, no one believes him, and he’s stuck with lectures about dying alone. Then inspiration strikes. He needs the people in his life to want him to stay single as much as he does. He needs a bad boyfriend.

There’s only one man for the job.

Flynn Delaney is used to people on Ceremony thinking the worst of him. But he isn’t sure he wants the dubious honor of worst boyfriend on the entire island. On the other hand, if he plays along, he gets to hang out with the gorgeous Nathan and piss off the Granshire’s owners. It’s a win-win.

There’s only one problem. Flynn’s actually quite a good boyfriend, and now Nathan’s wondering if getting off the sofa occasionally is really the worst thing in the world.

Review:

Oh my god, this book was so amazing! When I read the blurb, I was instantly interested because not only is it about older MCs but it’s also about a fake relationship (one of my favorite tropes lately) and a ‘fake’ bad boyfriend. And, let me just say, this one lived up to my expectations. I loved Nathan and how frustrated he was with everyone being interested in his love life and I loved that he wanted to date the baddest guy on the island to get everyone off his back… which leads him to Flynn. As for Flynn, I adored him so much as a character. He was definitely a surprise because he wasn’t bad at all. He might not care what people think but he’s got a soft heart when it counts. I just loved them together and really enjoyed their connection and how their relationship started as a farce and became something very real.

While I absolutely LOVED this book, I had two tiny issues that I couldn’t get over. First, I still don’t understand why Flynn didn’t go to his father’s funeral. It seemed like he was injured at the time but all his injuries that were mentioned seem to happen way before the funeral. Also, I didn’t understand why Max was so angry with Flynn. His level of hatred didn’t add up to what happened between them decades before and that was never really explained.

All in all, though, I really enjoyed this one. I was sucked in right from the start and couldn’t put it down. I loved that it dealt with older MCs and I loved Nathan and Flynn as characters and as a couple. It was so entertaining seeing Flynn not being a ‘bad’ boyfriend. I had two little issues but they weren’t enough to ruin the book for me. I hope the author considers a sequel or another story set in this world because I’d love to get back to these two someday!

Overall Impression: I loved it!

*I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.*
