Happiness Is Being Lost In A Book!
by Sid Love
Before being an author, I am a reader – an avid one. Books are my life! Even when my weekdays are spent with thirteen to fourteen hours at work, you’ll always find a book in my bag that I read while travelling. My one-way trip to work is usually about a couple of hours long! So plenty of time to read 😉
This is the only me time I get and dare anyone steal it from me!
I read almost all genres – ranging from Old Classics to Mystery to even Sci-Fi and Fantasy fictions. (I can never digest an auto-biography though. It gives me migraine, just looking at its cover!) But if you ever ask me, what genre would I prefer to read any day, any time – I’ll say it’s Romance.
No doubt!
And my inspiration to write in this genre comes especially from the Classic Romance novels written by Jane Austen. She is like an idol I’d praise for eternity. Seriously! I like her works that much. I am ashamed to admit though that I took about a month to finish Pride and Prejudice (that one was the first I read from her) but initially I thought the long descriptive passages were boring indeed! It’s not for everyone, I tell you but by the end of the story you feel like you have read a novel that will stay in your memory forever! A novel that you’d re-read a million times!
So far I’ve read P&P, Persuasion and Sense & Sensibility more than twice. And Emma is my all-time favorite! It’s just something about the main character that draws me in. Her being so imperfect in itself makes her flawless – if that even makes sense. Ha!
These stories make me want to write that same epic romance with two men in the equation! I want my readers to experience the kind of goose bumps I get every time I think about the letter written by Captain Wentworth and his words – “You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever…”
I can never be as good as Ms. Austen; that I am well aware of. However, I can at least try to honor her through my stories.
My newest release Let It Go is just the beginning.
About Let It Go
“Everyone tells me to stay away from him. But if only I knew how to resist him…”
Goa isn’t supposed to be on Damon O’Neil’s list of places to stay while working in India. It’s merely a substitute for his planned trip to visit his sister in Paris for Christmas and the New Year. His boss had other ideas. He’s sent Damon to carry out urgent upgrades to the company’s offshore units and Damon can’t say no.
When Damon encounters an extra-spicy curry, a handsome Indian guy named Virat comes to his rescue. Damon is instantly smitten with his looks, and especially with his cute smile. But Damon soon realizes he is very much out of his league when Virat introduces his new wife.
However, there might just be a chance Virat isn’t all he pretends to be …

About Sid Love
SID LOVE grew up in one of busiest cities in the world, Mumbai, listening to the excerpts of Indian epics from his father every night. While it served as an inspiration back in time, he has always had an ambitious mind. In 2007, when he had just turned sixteen, he decided that he would make his lifelong dream come true—to become a well-known, respected author someday.
Ask him and he would refuse to accept that he is obsessed with books. Or movies. Or TV shows. Addicted may even be the right word. He is a die-hard fan of Jane Austen’s romance novels and loves to reread them time and again.
You can find him on Facebook or tweet him anytime or simply e-mail him at sidlovethewriter@live.in.
