RJ’s Author Mini-Tour

by RJ Scott

Welcome to my mini author tour, thank you to The Blogger Girls for having me… 😀

When I was at the UK meet I was told by readers on more than one occasion that they thought I just wrote paranormal, or I just wrote contemporary. Of that they knew about Texas, but had never heard of the Sanctuary series. So I came up wit this idea… highlight two very different books, or series, and add in some cool prizes and maybe readers might find something new from me.

The two books I have chosen are The Decisions We Make, and The Case Of The Cupid Curse (Book 1 in End Street, written with Amber Kell).

Amber Kell is my nemesis, sorry, that should have said friend. When we talked about writing together it was inevitable that the books we wrote would have humour laced through them as that is what our friendship is like. With a vampire called Bob, what else would you expect. The paranormal series currently consists of four books, with two more coming to complete the series. Sam is a human. Or at least he thinks he is. When he inherits a detective agency he resolves to only take on human cases, but when his first case involves the Fae he realises he may well be in the wrong part of town. When Bob shows up, all toppy and vampire-hot Sam doesn’t stand a chance. The world in these books is easy to follow, we deliberately kept the stories and characters clear and easy to follow, and made the romances burning!

On the other hand, you couldn’t get further away from paranormal than The Decisions We Make. This book was one of the first books I independently published and was originally penned as a Young Adult book. Then I realised it wasn’t just readers of young adult books that read Decisions and this book has quickly become one of my most popular books. The story of orphan Dnaiel, being thrust into the Walker family, and his journey to becoming the young man he knows he can be, is full of family references and hope. Jamie Walker is his best friend and becomes more when the two young men are leaving for college and realise that being together is worth every decision they need to make. With a supportive family, and a tragic back story, Daniel falls in love. A simple story of young love that overcomes all obstacles.

Tags: paranormal, fun, adventure, crime

Sam Enderson is a human detective who inherits a building from where his Uncle used to run a detective agency. He finds himself working for paranormal creatures despite his resolve to stick with humans only. To supplement his income as a new PI Sam rents out rooms in the large house.

Bob is a vampire and turns up on Sam’s doorstep to rent a room. Sparks fly and Sam is attracted to the vampire despite himself.

Sam is cursed by a witch, and has two cases landing on his desk. Werewolves, annoying ghosts and a grumpy gargoyle are enough to drive Sam mad. But somehow in amongst all of this he has to find a missing fae and a missing shifter child.
