Blurb: With his fauxhawk, sleeve tattoos, and visible piercings, Ridley Corbin has the whole bad ass vibe going on in spades. The image serves him well as the self-proclaimed protector of the underdog, and he wants nothing more than to be Alex Firestone’s hero.
Alex, a mild-mannered library assistant, has moved to Slater, a quiet college town, hoping to hide from his past. He keeps to himself, but that doesn’t save him from catching the unwanted attention of the campus bully. But not all is as it seems. Alex’s past comes calling, and it’s time he becomes top dog.
Review:
FWIW, I though BAMF was one HELL of a story! For starters, let’s talk about that cover! I LOVE when a book cover reflects the actual story, and the cover artist couldn’t have done a better job here. Library books, skinny jeans, a bow tie and lots of TUDE. It is ABSO perfect!
So once you crack this baby open, you’ll find what’s inside is just as good IMO. Ridley is a former NERD who has bulked up and found his inner bad ass by the time he’s in college where he falls for Alex, a hot and SEXY bow-tie-wearing librarian. When the football jocks decide that Alex is going to be their next play toy, Ridley steps in, hoping to be Alex’s knight in shining armor. When things don’t turn out how he expected, Ridley realizes that Alex is not at all what he seems and finds himself wishing he would have Read the Fuckin Manual (RTFM).
The POV changes between MCs frequently in this story, but I have to say that I fell in love with Ridley’s character. He is funny, snarky and bold and he will definitely make you LOL. Of course, the tattoos and piercings don’t make him any more likeable at all. Nope. Not at all. JK!
Another bonus, it doesn’t take long for this story to turn NSFW. Alex and Ridley are young and hot, so of course their motto is sex ASAP and as much as possible. And, boy, can Peterson steam up the pages! OMG! The dirty talk and wall-slamming action is definitely going to make you squirm in your seat!
One of the other things I loved about BAMF was the settings. Whether in the college library, at Ridley’s studio apartment, or on the back porch of a Louisiana cabin, the author made you feel like you were there in real life.
I don’t know if this review has convinced you to pick up BAMF and give it a go, but I sure hope it has!
Overall Impression: I really liked it!
