Blurb: When a series of bombs go off in a Therian youth center, injuring members of THIRDS Team Destructive Delta, and causing a rift between agents Dexter J. Daley and Sloane Brodie, peace seems unattainable. Especially when a new and frightening group, the Order of Adrasteia, appears to always be a step ahead. With panic and intolerance spreading and streets becoming littered with the Order’s propaganda, hostility between Humans and Therians grows daily. Dex and Sloane, along with the rest of the team, are determined to take down the Order and restore peace, not to mention settle a personal score. But the deeper the team investigates the bombings, the more they believe there’s a more sinister motive than a desire to shed blood and spread chaos.

Discovering the frightful truth behind the Order’s intent forces Sloane to confront secrets from a past he thought he’d left behind for good, a past that could not only destroy him and his career, but also the reputation of the organization that made him all he is today. Now more than ever, Dex and Sloane need each other, and, along with trust, the strength of their bond will mean the difference between justice and all-out war.

Nothing makes me happier than to read a sequel that is just as outstanding and exactly what I was hoping for. Nothing makes me more content than to start the next book in a series and fall easily into where I left off in the previous book. It is just so freaking perfect when that sequel follows the natural progression in the professional and personal partnership of these two men who are on the path to one of the finest happily-ever-after’s ever!!!! Blood & Thunder is all that, and lots more; so much more, and once again, I’m left eagerly awaiting the THIRDS book.

Sloane and Dex have now been together, both professionally and personally, for many months and both relationships have grown and, for the most part, solidified. Well, professionally, much more so than personally, but still, the advancements they’ve made are incredible. Professionally, Dex is the best thing since sliced bread, given that the entire team is completely infatuated with him…with the exception of Ash, of course. Poor Ash, he just doesn’t get the awesomeness that is Dexter Daley.

Sloane is altogether another story. He is struggling with what he feels for Dex, struggling to put a name to it, struggling for where he wants their “relationship” to go, and struggling to just get past Gabe and his own history. In short, Sloane is a mess. It was hard to see him struggle so, but it was necessary to get to his history.

Dex is still the funniest man I’ve read about in a long time. His humor and outlook on life are like a huge ball of sunshine wrapped in cheese doodles. No wonder the entire team in infatuated with him. But all is not perfect, and Dex is quietly feeling the heartache of not knowing where he stands with Sloane, and it’s starting to take its toll. I know there are more books in this series, and nothing is expected to be completely resolved, but I was still very happy with how things ended.

This was a great installment to the THIRDS series. The amazing characterization of all the secondary characters allowed me to feel a connection to them, as if I already know the entire team personally. I am beginning to warm up to Ash, a little bit, and I even understand him some, but I hope that he doesn’t break Cael’s heart. I know they belong together, I just hope they figure it out as well. I am also looking forward to delving deeper in to the Calvin and Hobbs (Ethan) relationship. Loved Ethan’s brothers; loved them so hard. I’m hoping that they play a more prominent role in the coming books, as well.

So, yep, it’s true, this series is everything I knew it was going to be, and I have no doubts that the entire series will maintain that same success. Check it out people; this is an amazing read and one that comes highly recommended.

Overall Impression: It was amazing

*I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.*
