Blurb:  Archer Hart is on the move before the man he’s just killed is found. When a bullet whizzes past his ear, he realizes hunter is now hunted. So much for his retirement plans. Someone wants him dead and all he can do is keep running.

Downed by a hit and run driver, barrister Conrad Black is certain the ‘accident’ was deliberate but he has no proof or support. In recovery, struggling to work out of partial paralysis, he has plenty of time to wonder who regrets not striking him harder. At this point, running anywhere is a distant dream.

The confidence, determination and stamina of two alphas males will mean little if neither is willing to bend—seize the love offered—and work together to understand why they’re suddenly both marked men. Not easy for either when Archer has broken the law in the worst possible way and Conrad is the law.

Review: Ahhhh, Conrad. As much as I wasn’t a big fan of his in the last book, by the end, he somewhat redeemed himself in my eyes, and I wanted to see more of him. I really wanted to see him meet someone who could really handle him, put him in his place, etc. Well, Archer is just the man, and a perfect fit for him. What happens when two stubborn growly alpha tops fall for each other? Unbelievable sexual tension and even hotter sex when they finally get down to it.

These guys are both recuperating, Conrad from the mysterious run in he had with a car, and Archer from the surfing mishap Conrad saved him from. So, things start up a bit slow with a lovable rescue dog bridging the gap and helping keep these guys together. Archer is also on the run from his last job gone bad, and Conrad is worried about what he believes is an attempt on his life. So, when things go really bad, neither is sure who the target is. But, they stick together, their friendship and trust growing as time progresses.

I absolutely loved watching these guys change as their feelings and realizations about each other took over. The sex is insanely hot, and the action reminded me a bit of a Jason Bourne movie. It was nice to see the Malachi cameo and that he is doing so well these days. There are lots of twists and turns throughout as these guys try and figure things out, and the story moves along at a good pace. I enjoyed this as much as the first book, though for different reasons. The quality of writing is of the same level though, and I highly recommend you check this series out. I can’t wait for the next one.

Overall Impression: I loved it

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*
