Blurb:  My name is Jamie Atwood, and I am an idiot. Against all odds, I got the attention of Michael Kage, the hottest MMA fighter on the planet. To say he rocked my world would be inadequate. He transformed me completely, made me depend on him, and made me love him. And the sex? Let me put it this way: I’d never been with a guy before I met Kage, but I’d gladly spend the rest of my life on my knees for him. He is my obsession and my addiction. But I did something stupid, and now I’m paying for it. I don’t know if I’ll ever see Kage again.

Being Michael Kage was never easy. Too many demons, too much anger, and not enough to live for. And then I met Jamie Atwood. He’s got this innocence about him that speaks to something deep down inside me– in a place that’s never been touched by anyone. He’s beautiful, smart, and courageous, and he hasn’t been tainted by the darkness that’s ruled my life. I wanted him from the first second I laid eyes on him. It’s selfish, I know. Because you can’t bring an innocent thing into the darkness and not expect something to rub off.

Review: Wow, this story just gets even more intense with every chapter. The last one left off with a bang, and this one picks right up from there. Kage is going to UFC training camp after leaving Jamie in the dirt, basically. There is really no other way to describe what is happening here other than it is just really intense. These guys are so perfect for each other, but there are just too many things getting in their way at the moment, not the least of which are the secrets and miscommunications.

Kage is hiding so much, although most of it stems from habit and just his own way of surviving up to this point. Unfortunately, it is causing some major miscommunication about their feelings and wants, and it is really taking a toll on Jamie and Kage in return.

We get to see both sides of view and what each of them are feeling and going through. And, while much of this story takes place with them apart from each other, it all just felt right. Eventually things come out, they are brought back together, but then there are more manipulations separating them again. We end up with a heck of a explosive finale with these two showing us everything I loved about them from the start. Hot, steamy, down and dirty sex galore but there is no hiding how much they care.

We learn a few more things about Kage’s past and present issues, although just enough to leave me screaming for more. I want to know it all. All of the crap the creepy uncle has that he’s holding over Kage, all of Kage’s deep dark secrets, etc. I just want it to all come out so he can move on and be happy. And I want Jamie there to pick up the pieces.

This is another on the edge of your seat read that leaves you screaming “No! Don’t stop there!” at the end. I couldn’t read it fast enough but was sad I did so when it was over. I really can’t wait for the grand finale of this trilogy and hope we don’t have to wait too terribly long to get it. I highly recommend this exciting and intense story.

Overall Impression: I loved it

*I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.*
