Blurb: Roy has a crush on Steve, so when a work-related ski weekend is offered, Roy jumps at the chance to finally lay a trap for his hunky coworker. An abandoned cabin nearby is perfect for his scheme, and Roy stocks it with champagne, rubbers, and lube. But fate intervenes, and it’s not Steve, but Ranger Josh, who ends up trapped in the cabin with Roy during an avalanche. Roy’s plan might be ruined, but there’s still a chance for a very happy New Year indeed.
When Roy goes on a work-related ski trip, he thinks it’s the perfect time to make a move on his coworker and crush. But he didn’t exactly plan for everything when the cabin he breaks into is covered by an avalanche. While Steve doesn’t exactly show up, someone else does to rescue him and before he knows it, he may have just found someone else to rein in the New Year with.
This was a cute story but I found Roy’s actions extremely ridiculous and didn’t like how easily Roy forgot about his crush on Steve and fell in lust with Josh. It made me wonder if any relationship that came out of their meeting (which it’s alluded to would start) would even go far if it was so easy for Roy to lust after someone else so quickly.
In the end, a cute story. I found Roy a little over the top but I liked Josh as a character. The premise was interesting and I’d be intrigued to see if their relationship goes anywhere once the holiday is over.
Overall Impression: I liked it
