Review:

This is Blaine’s story – he was the guy who made the “bet” with Kent. Spencer is Terry’s (the victim of the bet) boss, and in this, both MCs identify as “newly bi”. If you liked book one, this is very similar and will please you. I found it to be a bit hard to believe, but fun.

Valerie, Spencer’s daughter, isn’t a believable eight year old and Vanessa, Spencer’s ex-wife is OTT. First she’s super psychotic as Spencer’s ex and wants revenge then she becomes this grateful mother who embraces Blaine with open arms. I found her part in the story distasteful, but I thought his daughter was fun, if unbelievable.

I think that I’m able to buy into the OTT drama more with Sandrine’s paranormal stuff because it is paranormal. I like my contemporary to be a bit more believable and consistent. In this case, Blaine makes a complete 180 degree change from his personality in book one without an explanation and both men embrace their newfound “bi-ness” without questioning anything. Their families, friends, and bosses embrace it too without fanfare and that’s a bit hard to swallow. But… it’s a light, fun series with lots of sap and humor and a sweet, short read.

Overall Impression: It was good
