Blurb: We all have tragic backstories in today’s world.

I wake up chained to the wall of a dark cell aware of two things: I failed my sister, and I smell my enemy.

When I’m taken to meet Dare, the alpha of the Silver Tip pack, I’m sure I’m about to lose my throat. The last thing I expect is for the Alpha to recognize me as his fated mate. No way is he going to let me go now, and I still have to find a way to rescue my sister.

As I plot my escape to save her, I find that if I leave, Dare could be killed by power-hungry members of his pack. And now he’s more to me than my fated mate—my heart is involved. With time ticking by on my sister’s life, I have to make a choice I never thought I’d face—my sister’s life or my mate’s? That’s if I can survive the undead shifters intent on killing me first…

Review: I loved this book and am totally excited to get the next book. Megan Erickson writes beautifully and has some of the best dialogue. Dialogue can make or break a story for me and she hits it out of the ball park with this story. I love shifters, alpha males, and lots of sexy talk and sexy times. We get that and more all wrapped up in a great new shifter series that starts off with a bang.

So, we start off with a wolf shifter, Reese, chained to a wall. He happens to be six-five, and the one I thought was going to be the alpha, but what do you know. The weres are even bigger and our poor “little wolf” was kind of tiny next to these behemoths. I am used to reading about shifters and weres but having them be completely different species in one story was kind of amazing. I liked learning the differences and it kept me entertained.

Dare is the alpha of the Silver Tip Pack, a beloved leader who is completely different than the sadistic alpha Reese escaped from…only to end up a kind of prisoner to Dare. That doesn’t last long as Dare and Reese are fated mates…again, something that is used a lot, but in this case it was integral to the story, especially since they are literally different races. These two have a lot to work through, figure out, overcome, and learn about each other, but in the meantime, the sex is off the chains. Seriously, there is nothing to not love about this story. Even with Dare having a child. And I don’t like kids in my books, but this one fit the scenario and didn’t take the spotlight from our lovebirds.

So yeah, once again I am completely in love with a Megan Erickson book and look forward to seeing what’s next for the Silver Tip Pack.

Overall Impression: I loved it!

*I purchased my own, personal copy of this book for review.*
