Blurb: An online date as a favor to a friend is about to change Kyle Ballantine’s life–in ways he never dreamed possible.
Kyle Ballantine is not looking forward to Valentine’s Day. Even though he’s been invited to a party, he feels intimidated as he’ll have to go on his own. He’s been dateless for the past six months, so when his best friend Paul, asks him to go on an online date with a man he’d arranged to meet but now can’t because of a family commitment, Kyle figures he has nothing to lose, but time.
Meeting someone as gorgeous as Erik Kelemen was not what Kyle expected, nor the whirlwind romance that follows. Kyle and Erik seem like the perfect match, but there’s something different about Erik, something Kyle can’t quite put his finger on– until a stranger arrives at Kyle’s apartment with a revelation that has him questioning the man’s sanity.
But if the stranger is telling the truth, then Kyle and Erik’s future together is doomed, along with Kyle’s dream of finding that perfect, but elusive, Valentine.
Review:
This was so sweet! Well, and there was a LOT of smexy times in this, too, but it was also really sweet.
It’s a short story, but it felt pretty satisfying. We get a vampire – the nice kind! – who meets a sweet, “good” guy for a date he arranged online and they end up being mates. While their initial set up felt a little odd, in the end it didn’t matter.
I really enjoyed how “old world” Erik was and how kind and gentle he was with Kyle. The “extra” bit – not gonna give away the surprise – was a lovely touch and helped to make this feel like a longer story than it was.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and recommend it to all Vampire romance fans or anyone looking for a short and sweet Valentine’s Day treat!
Overall Impression: I loved it!
