Blurb: Six years ago Ellis walked into his first briefing as the newest member of London’s Specialist Firearms unit. He was partnered with Wayne and they became fast friends. When Wayne begins to notice changes—Ellis’s erratic temper, the effects of sleep deprivation—he knows he has to act before Ellis reaches his breaking point. He invites Ellis to the opening of the new BDSM club, Secrets, where Wayne has a membership. His purpose? He wants Ellis to glimpse the lifestyle before Wayne approaches him with a proposition. He wants to take Ellis in hand, to control his life because he wants his friend back, and he figures this is the only way to do it.

There are a few issues, however. Ellis is straight. Stubborn. And sexy. Wayne knows he has to put his own feelings aside to be what Ellis needs. What surprises the hell out of him is finding out what Ellis actually requires.

Review: Ellis and Wayne are amazing. That is saying something as I am not normally a BDSM fan, yet there was something about the cover and the blurb that called to me, and I was not disappointed. I love cops or military men, I love alpha men, I love friends to lovers, I loved this book…even with the Sir, the antics in the club, and the giving up all control. Who knew I had a little sub living inside me? But seriously, Wayne was a Dom’s Dom. He was taking care of his friend and partner, Ellis, for six years without Ellis even realizing it. It took Ellis nearly losing it all before he realized that he needed Wayne, like he really, really, needed Wayne, in a way he never imagined.

This book is written so well that I found myself unable to do anything else but read it. I had to know what was going to happen next. And when it started to drag, just a little bit in the middle, then all of a sudden the injury happened and our happy naked kneeling sub, Ellis, was looking at a whole new reality, and I was once again totally enthralled. But our Wayne never lost focus, and never gave up on Ellis or their future. I think we all need a Wayne in our lives…minus the public sex, and kneeling naked, and getting whipped…I can do without all that, but I loved reading about it for Ellis. He took it so well, and if anyone needed to get out of his head, it was Ellis. If anyone could take him to his happy place, it was Wayne.

So, there you go, the most vanilla reviewer for the Blogger Girls is highly recommending a BDSM book. I definitely recommend it if you’ve read the Collars and Cuffs series, as two very prominent secondary characters are Eli and Jarod from one of those books. Even though I did not read that series (yet), I was not lost at all. So, enjoy it, I certainly did.

Overall Impression: I loved it!

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in return for a fair and honest review.*
