Blurb: The rings have been selected.
The champagne placed on ice.
The cake decorated.
And the pre-wedding sex is off the charts…
Lucas Vallois and Andrei Hadeon are finally ready to walk down the aisle. There’s just one small problem.
A ghost from Lucas’s past shows up days before the wedding, desperate for help. Against his better judgement, Lucas and his best friend, Ashton Frost, plan a fast trip back to the one place they swore they’d never go: their hometown in Oklahoma. But the danger is worse than they expected.
Now, they’re in a race to track down a killer, keep a young girl safe, and get Lucas back in time to say, “I do.”
Review:
I was under the misguided impression the Unbreakable Bonds series was over, so imagine my delight to see that not only was Blaze a continuation of the Lucas and Andrei love affair, but also a deeper dive into the horrific childhoods of both Lucas and Snow. And on top of that, another Unbreakable Bonds book will be released later this year starring Snow and Jude…whom, after reading Blaze, really needed a bit more closure.
This story was full of surprises. I was fully expecting this book to be mostly wedding planning and the actual wedding, itself. But, I should have known better. Wherever this unruly band goes, trouble follows…or in this case, pulls them in and almost doesn’t let go. Lucas and Snow expect to get to Oklahoma, their childhood hometown, take care of a small issue, and be back home the next day. Only that would be too easy, and it was far from easy and came much closer to ruining Lucas and Andrei’s big day.
This story was so very necessary to get to the heart of the friendship between Snow and Lucas. Not only for the reader, but for their friends, as well. Especially Andrei. Seeing with his own two eyes what transpired to force his fiance and best friend to flee, and cut all ties, was heartbreaking. But it also solidified his vows to make “family” and “Vallois” words that emcompasses love…for them and their future children.
But this story, just like the others, has some of the hottest sex scenes ever written in the MM genre..and the way Lucas and Andrei talk to each other just makes my heart sing. I am not a sap, but this one came pretty close to making me want to be one.
Overall Impression: I really liked it!
