Honorary Blogger Avril Ashton: My Coney Island Obsession – Excerpt + Giveaway!

My Coney Island Obsession

by Avril Ashton

I’ve always been a fan of Coney Island. That Coney Island in New York. Brooklyn, to be exact. You see, I live in Brooklyn…I should say lived, since I just picked up the family and moved to Georgia on a whim a couple months ago. But I still feel like I live in Brooklyn.

So I’m fascinated by Coney Island. The Famous Coney Island with all its weird and terrifying attractions. All the bright sparkly things that keep pulling visitors in from all around the world year after year. My family and I used to just drive there almost every weekend—it’s about fifteen minutes away from where we lived. We’d go in the down season, during the winter months and sit on the boardwalk, look at the ocean, our toes freezing in the sand. Mostly for me, because I can’t stand to be away from it.

I don’t really know what about it that pulls at me. Maybe because it’s this huge playground where you feel like a kid again, no matter your age.

Coney Island makes an appearance in nearly all my books. If it’s set in Brooklyn, there’s a good chance one of my characters will make a stop in Coney Island for funnel cakes and a chance to ride the Wonder Wheel.

In (Watch Me) Break You, Coney Island does indeed make an appearance. But this one’s not quite like we’re used to seeing the amusement park. You see, Coney Island is in a tug-o-war. Two gang factions are fighting for the right to do their dirty deeds on its storied streets. Not many people get to see that side, the dark underbelly of what goes on behind the scenes of the pretty, happy place that smells of sea, cotton candy and hot dogs, and reverberates with laughter and squeals of frightful delight. Much of what you’ll read in (Watch Me) Break You is the real deal.

Names are only changed to protect the guilty.

About (Watch Me) Break You

(Watch Me) Break You (Run This Town, #1)They’re in a war for control of the streets, but love will be the ultimate prize.

Here comes trouble…

Men. Women. Drugs. Dima Zhirkov’s favorite things. Add in the element of danger and he should be right as rain. But not today. It’s not working, hasn’t for a long time. He’s grasping at the flimsiest of straws to prove he’s indeed strong enough to run his streets. Until he sets eyes on him. In the midst of a room full of strangers, Dima is drawn to a man as cold and dangerous as he’s beautiful. Captivated, Dima embarks on a ruthless campaign to get his new toy into bed.

Here comes the danger…

Xavier “X” Storm is content to pull the strings while someone else handles the day to day dealings of his gang, The Rude Boys. He’s after what Dima holds closest—the Coney Island streets. He contracts out the job of killing the Russian, except Dima isn’t that easy to kill. When he suddenly shows up in X’s path, tempting him to indulge in the dirtiest play, he finds Dima isn’t all that easy to shake, either. His cocky attitude and rough submission tempts X to go where he’d vowed to never return, and they plunge head first into an affair fueled by possessive obsession.

Run for cover

Sex and pain Dima can handle, and X delivers the most depraved kind. Their connection is explosive, their games addictive, but Dima can end it whenever he wishes. He doesn’t see that X is breaking him down, giving Dima everything he wants and even more than he ever thought to need. By the time he realizes who X is and what he wants, Dima is raw and bullet-riddled. It’s run or fight. And Dima doesn’t back down. Neither does X.

Warning: Includes strong BDSM elements, and reference to rape and sexual abuse.

An Excerpt from (Watch Me) Break You

The Dom didn’t stay in the room upstairs long. He came out a short time later and quickly descended the stairs like a man on a mission. Dima followed him into a bathroom and stood by the door as his new toy rolled up his shirt sleeves and washed his hands in a nearby sink. When he turned away to wipe his hands via the paper towel machine mounted to the wall, Dima stepped out from behind his hiding place.

His new toy didn’t seem surprised to see him. He gazed at Dima through the mirror. Cool. Unruffled. In control. It made Dima’s blood race. Made his palms sweat.

“What’s your name?” he asked. The man didn’t blink and Dima realized he’d asked his question in Russian. He repeated himself in English.

The man didn’t answer. He remained facing the mirror, head cocked at an angle, watching Dima watch him. Their appearances couldn’t be any different. The Dom with his coffee with milk skin, impeccably dressed in a blue shirt and black pants, and Dima with his wrinkled shirt missing buttons, the ragged holes in his faded jeans, black motorcycle boots and the taste of weed, alcohol and Sylvie’s pussy on his tongue.

“I watched you,” Dima said. He sounded…rough, words halting with need. “Downstairs. I want it.”

“No.”

Just one word, but it fired Dima like nothing ever had. He stepped up close, pressing his front to the other man’s back. He was hard, the other man. Brick. But so was Dima. Achingly hard.

“I want you.” Fuck. He’d switched to Russian again. “Give me what you gave her.” It was a demand, but Dima heard hollow need all over those words.

The man spun around, lightning fast, and grabbed Dima by the throat. Mother of God. His balls tightened, threatening to explode. By that. Just that. The man’s expression hadn’t changed Dima found when he peered up at him through his eyelids. Dima kept his hands fisted at his sides.

Waiting.

Body pulsing.

“Give it to me,” he whispered in Russian.

“Touch me again and I’ll break your fucking neck.” He slammed Dima into a stall door. The pain made pre-cum pour, wetting Dima’s boxers. He groaned. The man released him and was gone before Dima could gulp in air.

His heart pounded as he clutched the edge of the sink, breathing fast. He met his own wild gaze in the mirror, shivering at the hungry grin on his face.

A chase. He could do that.

A Girl in Paris by Mira Noire: Teaser Quotes & Giveaway!

A-Girl-in-Paris-Tour-Banner

Teaser Quotes From A Girl in Paris

“She turned to me; I was shocked at the naked need in her dark eyes. I had only just met her, walked across a street to give a stranger a duffel bag full of clothes. Suddenly I realized she’d thought I could be more, maybe even save her. Nothing I’d ever expected, or wanted, to be for her.”

This was raw, pure lesbianism, such an outlawed, taboo, forbidden pleasure. No woman had ever aroused this eroticism in me with just a little kiss on the back of my neck. Her beauty was unequaled, her hunger unrivaled.

blogger_bee_trans

Her skin slid against my hand, purposely, I knew, and her own fingers joined mine, entwining and drawing them forward. I touched her silk panties- freshly cleaned panties that had been mine.  They were damp and warm, all dirty again. She smiled at me, covertly undulated her hips beneath the cloth, and I knew that not a soul was aware of what we were doing.

blogger_bee_trans

She undid my zipper, yanked off my pants as I lay prone on the dirty floor. Her sly little fingers tugged off my panties, and then suddenly I felt her tongue between my thighs, and I heard someone moaning and cursing–that someone was me. My brain was a fog. I couldn’t believe myself.

Honorary Blogger Kay Berrisford: Seeking Secret Places – Excerpt + Giveaway!

Honorary_Blogger_Post

 Seeking Secret Places

by Kay Berrisford

Last month, I celebrated the launch of my new series, Underground Elves, with the first book Catching Kit (a re-release) out from Love Lane Books.

Catching Kit is an m/m paranormal tale set in London, the city near which I grew up. Although all of my books save one all-out fantasy story have UK settings, the Underground Elves series are the only ones rooted in the capital. While working on the second book in the series, I’ve been wondering why my characters have wandered into this marvelous city so rarely.

While all cities have unique aspects that make them great settings, London has got to be one of the best. The centre is crammed with two thousand years of history, reaching back to the Romans and beyond, and there are so many famous landmarks it would be patronizing to list them. It’s often the less well known corners that capture the imagination…though in London, it’s difficult to find many true secrets.

A scene in my new book was due to take place in churchyard of The Actor’s Church in Covent Garden, a quiet oasis in the middle of the bustle where I used to eat lunch. Not that famous, right? Wrong. I recently started to read Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London series (an urban paranormal that I’m enjoying very much) and lo and behold, the opening ghost-related action takes place in this very spot. In my books, the characters explore some of the “ghost” stations – closed and derelict underground railway stations. Even these are getting very famous. The old Aldwych (Strand) underground station, opened in 1907 and shut in 1994, is a popular filming location. It was recently used for Sherlock. And nobody saw that, right?

Fortunately, I still have some secret locations and some great London stories to share…though I’m going to save them for the series. There’s certainly no better city in which to be setting a story about a group of elves who’ve been traveling forward through history for hundreds of years. I very much hope some of you will join us on the journey.

Thank you for reading and thanks to The Blogger Girls for letting me blog.

An Excerpt from Catching Kit

“You must be starving.” Kit placed one of the plates in front of Denny. Then he sat down opposite, pronged two tubes of pasta with his fork, and popped them into his mouth. He slowly licked white cheese sauce from his lips, and Denny fought a faint ache in his groin. “Yeah, elves do eat. At least we do when we need to. And this isn’t bad, is it? It’s better than gingerbread and those little sets of dried herbs. I ate those for a month. Oh, and boiled sweets.”

And Kit still had such gleaming teeth? Okay, that had to be rubbish. Denny wouldn’t listen. But he was bloody hungry. They’d eat the pasta, and then he’d put Kit out.

He couldn’t help but hear what Kit said as they dined. The elf claimed he’d materialized a month or so back in the bargain basement of a department store. He’d hidden out in a store room among leftover Christmas items, of which he’d grown fond.

“So lovely to know Christmas is still going on,” said Kit. “That’s the thing with moving on all the time; sometimes customs just vanish. I miss St. Bartholomew’s Fair, you know.”

Kit had grown so attached to the bright Christmas decorations that he’d wasted no time removing Denny’s tree from its box under the stairs to remind him of his most recent home. He’d remained in the store several weeks, chatting to staff and customers and reading his way through any books and newspapers he found lying about.

“Working out how the world works these days and what all the new words mean. Like how tablets aren’t pills anymore, but those shiny things with touch screens.”

Then his body grew solid enough to set off the alarms at night, and he’d had to leave. He’d spent his days and nights after that busking on the Underground network, as the great outdoors freaked him a bit at first.

“After last time I was in London,” explained Kit, “with all the bombs.”

“Right, that’s it.” Denny pushed his half-eaten meal away and got up. Swallowing a mouthful quickly, Kit rose too, turning to drop his plate in the sink behind him. Denny hurried about the table, grabbed him by the elbow, and spun him around. “Why do you keep going on about bombs?”

Kit furrowed his brow, and that strange look glazed his eyes, whispering of memories. Shouting of pain. “I was here in 1941.”

Denny shook him. “You’re telling me you were in London in the Blitz as well as in Shakespearean times? You must think I’m loopy.”

Kit drilled his gaze into him and fluttered his long lashes. “No. I think you’re horribly messy. Apart from your underwear drawer. You keep that neat enough.”

Denny froze. “You’ve been poking around my things?”

“I loved your things. They were beautiful.”

A hot flush spread from the base of Denny’s neck to his brow. The elf had been messing with his most intimate possessions.

His best lingerie.

Yet his humiliation burned out quickly. This elf had cut to the heart of his “disgusting habits,” and didn’t seem bothered at all.

The elf arched a brow, overtly flirtatious. “I hope you don’t mind. I, uh, tried some on.”

“You what?”

“Your lace thong.” Kit dropped his voice to a sexy growl. “I’m wearing it now.”

Honorary Blogger Louis J Harris: There’s Something in the Water – Excerpt + Giveaway!

Honorary_Blogger_Post

There’s Something in the Water

by Louis J Harris

Swimmer wasn’t an easy novella to write.  I prefer writing thrillers and this was my debut romance.  As a result, it took me quite a while.  I wanted to write about two guys who both have relationship hiccups.  Basil is a successful artist but he’s also a social outcast who lives in a quaint house just off the beach.  Four years earlier, his lover upped and left him, just like that.  No letter.  No sms. Nothing.  Not even a postcard.  He was so hurt that he vowed never to fall in love again.  I could imagine Basil using all his time to paint. I could imagine him taking the blame for his ex-lover’s sudden disappearance.  I could imagine him pining and longing for his return.  But, after four years, the guilt and the pain of longing faded and in its place was a quiet introvert who longed to be touched and loved by someone special.

On the other hand, Will is a young man with tons of testosterone.  He’s on the Olympic team for the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 and instead of swimming with the rest of his team in a club pool, he prefers to swim in the sea for stamina and strength.   He happens to choose Basil’s beach.  William is the kind of person who doesn’t give in easily.  He’s ambitious and needs to achieve.  He hasn’t been lucky in love, in fact he has never really been in love.  But the moment he meets Basil, there is an immediate limerence.   For Will it’s love at first site.

I wanted to infuse the relationship with drama.  Gently.  So there are a number of places in the narrative where I drop a couple of dramatic pearls.  The South African sardine run is quite a spectacle in the month just before Winter.  And with these sardines, come dolphins and sharks and gannets and gulls and a myriad of other creatures to feast on these minute fish.   Swimming during the sardine run is a dangerous part time.  I had to choose which character would be attacked by a shark.  I had to change that scene a couple of times to get the emotion just right.  It’s not easy writing romance.  There’s a certain subtlety that thriller writing just doesn’t have.  A certain passion.

The one thing I had to hold onto as the writer, was the end result of Hope.

And that’s really what Swimmer is all about.  Not just love, loss and tragedy, but hope in all it’s nuances.

I chose an unconventional style for the writing of this story.  I wrote it in 2nd person past tense.  Reason being that the characters leave the reader with a promise, and that promise is a happy ending.   My stories don’t usually end happily.  One of my shorts involves two men married toeach other and the one is about to leave the other for a younger man.  His husband  decides that if he can’t have him, no one can.  You can imagine the rest.  It’s blood curdling.  Not all gay love is good love.  But Swimmer is more than just about good love.  It’s also about love at first site.

I believe in love at first site.  Many people will say that LAFS doesn’t work.  But it’s not what one doesn’t believe, it’s what one dreams.  Dreams are good friends.

Swimmer is more than just a one dimensional love story.  It’s more than just the title.  I hope you find it endearing, and I hope you will come back and read more of my work.

An Excerpt from Swimmer

Hand in hand you trudge along the shore. The sand is thin. The waves cool. He runs and dares you to catch him. He’s fast. It takes all your energy to catch up and make the dive. You’re both on the sand and he’s trying to escape your grip, you’re trying to keep him from running. After a few minutes he gives up, stares into your eyes, and kisses you gently. Your lips tremble god it’s been so long and the sweet wetness in his mouth makes you purr softly. Your lips part for a moment as you stare into his eyes.

‘Jesus, you don’t know what you’re doing to me.’

Instead of answering, he digs into your neck, licking the salt off your tanned skin, sucking your ear, your eyes and finally finding your lips again. This time your tongue digs deep, teeth biting, touching, slamming against each other. You’re both breathless and suddenly you come up for air. Your hands explore his perfect body, every ridge, every bulge, every muscle belongs to you. He’s on top of you. Grinding his cock over yours. Moving delicately across your groin. You don’t want him to stop. You cry out in ecstasy as your cock becomes engorged with blood and you can’t stop yourself. It’s been too fucking long and even though you try to stop him from grinding his cock against yours, he fights you.

‘Jesus. I want you so much, Baz,’ he whispers. ‘I want you to come in your pants. I know you want to. I want you to.’

‘Fuck! Oh, fuck! Oh Fuck Will!’ You cry and your eyes water over as your semen explodes and all you can hear is Will’s voice, ‘Yes. Yes. Fuck. Yes.’

And then the grinding stops. Will collapses onto you, holding your arms above your head.

‘That was so fucking amazing,’ he says.

For a moment there is only the waves crashing against the shore.

‘I can’t believe that you made me cum in my jeans.’

‘I can’t believe that I came in my costume,’ he says, smiling, then laughing. And suddenly you’re both laughing and rolling together in the sand.

‘You’re just amazing. I’ve never done that with anyone,’ you say.

Honorary Blogger A.E. Via: Favorable Moments – Excerpt + Giveaway!

Honorary_Blogger_Post

Favorable Moments

by A.E. Via

Hello my lovely readers!

Thank you for visiting here with me today on Blogger Girls site to talk about my newest release: Embracing His Syn. Syn’s book is not a sequel to Nothing Special, it can stand alone. But, a few of the main characters from Nothing Special act as some very entertaining supporting characters in this story. So feel free to pick that up after.

If you are a fan of my previous work than you already know I’m a huge lover of take-charge, alpha gay men and Syn definitely fits into that category. He’s full of attitude, bravado, and overwhelming protectiveness…especially when it comes to Furious (my other MC).  So if those sexy traits do it for you, then Embracing His Syn is the next book you want to one-click.

Now. I’ve come up with a pretty awesome post – which is my 5 favorite moments while writing/developing Embracing His Syn. I’m going to throw in Nothing Special as well, because I think some people may be very interested in how I came up with God and Day as well as Syn and Furi.

Here we go….

5. Highly enjoyed running my thoughts and scenes over with a couple of my contacts in the VB Police Department. These men are a part of the vice squad but are highly trained and very lethal…in my opinion. They are friends of the family. Neither are gay (unfortunately, or else I’d pick their brain on a few other things as well. *winking*). Listening to some of their stories was very exhilarating. They really are a couple of alpha-studs. It was important to me writing a police story, to have the scenes/codes/lingo, of law enforcement officers to be realistic. Nothing Special and Syn’s story is still fiction so I wanted it to be over-the-top-dirty-harry style, but not too ridiculous. Hopefully I didn’t blow it.

4. I loved meeting my new editor in the making of Syn’s story. If some of you may recall, I had some issues with editing in Nothing Special – that was provided through my previous publisher. There were typos, misspellings, etc. I was determined to let readers know that I heard their complaints and was doing something to remedy the problem. Tina Adamski was my solution. She was absolutely awesome, even after I put her on a tight deadline. She had her work cut out for her, because when my mind is flying, my fingers have a hard time keeping up. Typing at 88wpm, there are bound to be errors, okay. She looked at a sample of my work and I was immediately taken with her professional attitude and knowledge of fictional editing. I think you’ll see for yourself when you read the book. I’m so glad to have worked with her and look forward to utilizing her expertise with my future work.

3. Next, was meeting my cover artist, Princess So. I walked past her booth at RainbowCon in April of this year and was floored at the art and detail that was displayed on some of her sample covers. She is an extremely talented artist and I knew I’d want her to do my next cover. What’s so memorable about this experience was watching her create these characters that were solely in my mind and make them visible for everyone else to see. Syn is absolutely delicious on this cover and she nailed Furi – which was drawn, or has she calls it ‘a Frankenstein’. I love that you won’t see my guys on anyone else’s books. These were not picked from the shallow male model bin on Shutterstock. It was a relief working with such talent. Although, I’ve now been ordered to call her ‘goddess’ since I asked for countless favors upon favors. Small price to pay.

2. The development of my characters. Mmmmm. Yummy. Some may already know this, but I don’t use any models for my book characters. I love coming up with my men within my mind. Everything from their look to their mannerisms. You won’t find God, or Angel, or Hawk, or Furi in any magazine or on a photo site. If I had to choose. I would have to say my favorite character couple is: God and Day. Turning them into 100% badass-don’t-give-a-damn-I’ma’-say-what-I want characters has been the highlight of all my writings so far. Day is able to say all the inappropriate-off-the-top-of-his-head comments that probably most men wish they could say and get away with. I wanted to make a highly ranked law enforcement character that was hilariously-witty, out, proud gay that wasn’t constantly harassed on his job, and hiding in the closet. Hence, Day. Who was the harasser not the harrassee’. Ro attempted it in the beginning, but he was usually the one that ended up red-faced after a tiff with Day. It was so much fun…it’s still fun writing those guys. Now I get to introduce more of God and Day’s team, while giving the book humor, because you know they are going to be in it.

1. Now, I hope I don’t get into any trouble with my number one. Not only my most memorable and favorite of all, but also the most FUN of making not only Nothing Special and Embracing His Syn, but ALL of my books.

PORN!!!!!

*laughing and winking* Hear me out, MM fans. A large percentage of MM writers are heterosexual females, so it’s important for us to make sure those scenes are spot-on, and realistic. Positions and execution. (I sound real scientific, don’t I? LOL). Honestly, the same way we have to research occupations, and backdrops, or landscapes, we have to research the sex for our books as well. The more sex you have in the book…the more you have to research…..right? So, I have to watch a ton of it, oh and various sites too! Uh. Yeah, that’s what I’m going with.

(And how freakin cool is this? I heard through the MM female writer’s grapevine, that we can write off all our porn subscriptions as a tax deduction, because we use it for our occupation. Hmmm. My porn is tax deductible. My entire family has used the same accountant for many years, and so have I, since I was nineteen. Mentioning my new deduction should be fun when I meet with him this tax season, and I slap a whole phone-book-sized receipt book of gay porn on his desk.)

Well, this had been fun. I’ve enjoyed chatting with you all and being embarrassingly honest. I hope you will pick up my latest release Embracing His Syn, which has been receiving rave reviews! I think it’s a must read if you love sexy detectives and lots of action mixed with extremely hot gay lovemaking. After you’ve done that, pick up my first novel, Blue Moon: Too Good to Be True, or if you’ve already read it….reread it, because Blue Moon 2: This is Reality is coming up next and its coming up fast!

Talk to you soon,

Thank you so much Blogger Girls for hosting me and my guys again!!!!

Loves,

Adrienne

About Embracing His Syn

Embracing His Syn(This story contains characters from previously published novel ‘Nothing Special‘ but Embracing His Syn is a stand-alone novel.)

Sergeant Corbin ‘Syn’ Sydney transferred from the Philadelphia Police Department as soon as he’d heard there was going to be an opening on Lieutenant Cashel Godfrey and Lieutenant Leonidis Day’s Atlanta Narcotics Task Force. Syn’s primary goal in his life has been to be a great cop. There has been no time for relationships, romance, or especially love.

Syn was dedicated to his new force, focused and ready to back up God and Day as their third in command, but what he wasn’t ready for was the feelings he got from seeing the love they had for each other.

Syn’s all prepared to accept his lonely fate until he walks into a small pub and meets long-haired, tattooed, bartender, Furious Barkley. Before he can even understand why, Syn’s feeling things he barely recognizes: passion, yearning, cravings; and if the dark, lustful gazes are anything to go by, Furious might be feeling the same things for him.

Just one thing needs to happen before Furi and Syn can give each other what’s been missing from their lives for so long…

Syn needs to allow happiness into his world and Furi needs to learn to open his heart and trust again.

God, Day, Ronowski, and Johnson are still as entertaining as ever…

You’ll swoon over God’s massive take-charge attitude…

You’ll laugh hysterically at Day’s never-ending wit…

You’ll fall in love with Furious’ mysterious, sexy demeanor…

and…

You’ll embrace Syn…

An Excerpt from Embracing His Syn

Furi stepped in closer to him and Syn fought his reflex to take a step back. Furi grabbed his wrist and moved him quickly through the customers waiting for the bathrooms and pushed open the back door that led to the parking lot.

Syn quickly took in his surroundings before focusing back on Furi.

“What’s wrong, why’d you bring me back here?”

“What’s your angle, Detective? Why are you lingering around my job and offering me rides, huh?” Furi forced those questions through gritted teeth.

“Why are you angry? It’s just a ride. I was trying to be nice,” Syn said with little conviction, while avoiding answering Furi’s questions. He didn’t have an angle and he wasn’t sure why he was drawn to him. He just wanted to be around this guy, if for nothing else then to at least be friends.

Furi narrowed his eyes again and stepped into Syn’s space. “Are you gay, Detective?”

There it was. The million-dollar question. Was he gay? He’d never asked himself that. He’d only slept with women before, but had never felt anything more for them than an easy friends-with-benefits involvement. Rhodes was the only person that he’d ever felt a connection with. A man. Syn felt his mouth move, but no sound was coming out. Fuck.

Furi looked at him skeptically. “Uh huh. Just like I thought. Who are you working for? Him. He send you? Did he hire you to find me? Are you a private detective?”

That accusation cut through Syn’s speechlessness. “Whoa. I work for the city of Atlanta. What are you talking about? Who is him? Is someone after you?” Syn didn’t realize he’d grabbed Furi’s shoulders, forcing him to look into his eyes until Furi threw his arms up and dislodged Syn’s grip.

“Take your goddamn hands off of me! I’m sick of people thinking they can put their fucking hands on me! Stay the fuck away from me, Detective.” Furi shoved past him and reached for the door.

Syn jumped in front of it before Furi could get it open. He yelled right back at Furi, “My name is Syn! I’m not here as a Detective! I don’t know who him is, nor do I work for him.” Syn put up air quotes for the word him. “I just wanted to talk to you!”

“About what?” Furi yelled. They were in each other’s faces, chest bumping each other.

“I don’t fucking know! About you. About me. About the damn Falcons’ game last week. About the weather. About why there’s so many goddamn reality TV shows. About what-the-hell-ever! That’s what people do when they want to get to know someone!” Syn stepped back and gripped his hair blowing out a long frustrated breath. He felt so ridiculous, was so annoyed that he was seconds away from just walking away. “Fuck! I didn’t think dating was this damn hard.”

“That’s what you’re trying to do, Detective? Date me?” Furi’s tone and facial expression were full of skepticism. “Because I don’t want to date. Dating is stupid. What the hell is dating anyway? Some long drawn out process of elimination where you both present your best side while hiding the real you, and you can only keep that charade going for about three months because your bullshit and lies eventually leak out and then you have to spend the next three months getting to know each other for real.”

“Geez, man, you are insanely cynical. Do you always over-analyze everything? Why can’t we just–”

Furi cut him off, “Because. I’m only interested in gay men. Not men that might or might not be gay, or men that are looking for an experiment, or men that are fucked up in the head. I’ve been there. Done that, I’m never going there again. It almost cost me my li–”

Syn turned at Furi’s words. He walked back to him slowly. He could see pain in Furi’s eyes and Syn wanted to take it all away. Take all the hurt this man had experienced, and put it on himself, because he could handle it. All he wanted was to see Furi smile, see him uninhibited, full of passion. Full of him. Syn just barely held in his groan. He wanted this damn man. God help him, he did. He let out a slow calming breath and brought his hands up to cup Furi’s cheeks. He wanted to kiss him. Taste him. Feel Furi moan his name into his mouth and swallow it down. Fuck, he wanted that and so much more. Furi was looking hard at him, waiting. His eyes roamed Syn’s face before settling on his lips. Syn needed this; all he had to do was take it. Take it goddamnit.

Furi took it for him. Syn felt confident, sure hands on his own cheeks and soft, beautiful lips against his. Furi took Syn’s control. He knocked his hands down and grabbed the material of his jean jacket, pushing him up against the wall right there behind the pub, and then those lush lips were on him again. Taking him. Syn’s eyes were rolling behind his closed lids. Fuck, it felt so good. He could’ve never imagined how good.

How to Keep Your Sanity While Editing Multiple Books

by Chris T. Kat

Thanks to the Blogger Girls for having me back! Dreamspinner Press will publish my new release, Secret Energy, on August 29th. Secret Energy is a shape-shifter story, and the sequel to Secret Chemistry.

To date, Secret Energy is the longest book I’ve ever written. It’s also the one I’ve re-written multiple times. I knew the editing process would be long and exhausting but that’s okay, some books are like that. But… then I received an e-mail informing me about the start of the editing process on Secret Energy. So far, so good. Then, I received another e-mail, informing me about the start of the editing process on Tidal Change. In that very moment, I succumbed to a light panic attack.

Now, how did I keep my sanity?

  • Told my husband about it, while trying not to hyperventilate. I received an amused smile, and he said, “I guess you won’t be bored then.” I reciprocated with a death glare, which gained me a massage later that night. 😉
  • Bought some new books to read, so I wouldn’t think about the upcoming edits. Because pretending the edits won’t magically appear in my inbox is always so realistic, right? Anyway, I got loads of awesome books.
  • I wrote another book, hoping if I lost myself in that world, the edits wouldn’t show up in my inbox. Naturally that wasn’t the case but hey, I got lots of writing done while I waited on my edits.
  • The main reason why I kept my sanity was my editor Erika Orrick. She knew very well I might be overwhelmed with the editing of both books, so she staggered them. I was never without work for more than a few days but it was do-able. So there, an awesome editor is worth a lot!

What do you do when you’re overwhelmed by work? Push through or try to hide? Eat chocolate or go for a run? I’m curious to learn more about your strategies!

An Excerpt from Secret Energy

Robin held his breath as he waited for Tim’s reaction. He scooted closer to the bear, and the bear sat down behind him, resting his heavy head on Robin’s left shoulder.

Tim shifted so fast that Robin recoiled. He pressed his bare back against the bear’s massive bulk, savoring the soft touch of fur on his skin. A wave of need rolled through him, rushing from his head to his crotch, pooling there. Robin covered his hardening erection as inconspicuously as possible.

“No,” Tim stated in a low voice. “No, he’s not. He’s a bear.”

Robin kept his eyes averted as he answered, “I think he’s a were-bear.”

Someone giggled, and Robin redirected his gaze toward Jay and Tim. Jay had shifted to his human form and lay on his side, trembling and white-faced. He was also the one emitting the giggling sounds, even though he tried his best to stifle them. Robin’s lips twitched into a smile.

Tim stepped over Jay and knelt next to him. The protective gesture wasn’t lost on Robin.

“Stop giggling. What’s so funny here?” Tim muttered.

“A were-bear. It rhymes.”

Confusion showed on Tim’s face as he said, “Great. So my brother is a poet and an idiot.”

“Hey!” Robin bristled.

The bear moved behind him, sliding even closer. Robin pushed back a little, relieved at feeling his mate’s presence. He still didn’t understand why the bear didn’t talk to him, but the silent support helped, more than it probably should given that he didn’t know anything about his mate, not even his name.

“I don’t believe he’s your mate,” Tim said.

“Why not?”

“He’s a bear.”

“A were-bear,” Jay corrected.

Robin caught Tim throwing an irritated glance at Jay. As quickly as it appeared, the glance disappeared because Jay was trailing his fingertips up and down Tim’s right forearm, calming him.

“He’s not going to mate a bear, nor is he going to mate a were-bear.”

“That’s not your decision to make,” Robin shot back hotly.

“You’re my little brother. Of course I’m making the decision.”

Stunned silence settled around them for a moment. The bear huffed and lifted his head from Robin’s shoulder. Robin immediately grabbed for the bear’s neck to pull him back. Jay coughed harshly, drawing Tim’s attention to him. Behind Tim’s back he gestured toward Robin’s crotch.

Gulping, Robin adjusted his legs so his half-hard cock was hidden from view. He mouthed ‘thank you’ to Jay. The bear sniffed, his head lowering until he came close to Robin’s erection.

“Uh, no sniffing there now,” Robin whispered. When the bear didn’t react, Robin added a desperate “Please.”

The bear moved his head away, though he swiped his tongue over Robin’s nipples as he did so. Robin groaned, closed his eyes, and pressed back into the wooly fur. Blood pulsed in his cock, filling it.

“Do that again,” he demanded.

“What the hell are you doing?” Tim yelled.

Robin’s eyes flew open. Shit! Just for a few seconds, he’d forgotten where he was and, more importantly, who was there.

“I-I…,” Robin stuttered. His cheeks burned.

“Stop this crap and come over here!” Tim shouted, the anger contorting his face.

“You stop this damn awful big-brother show,” Jay interrupted.

Tim swiveled his head around to look at Jay. “What?”

“Robin found his mate, and we won’t act like jerks and tear them apart. I’m not happy about being injured, but Robin’s right, I shouldn’t have attacked right away.”

“But—”

“Tim, you fought for me even though I’m a hybrid. Why is it so difficult for you to accept Robin’s mate isn’t a pure werewolf either?” Jay asked so softly Robin had to strain his ears to hear him.

“He doesn’t resemble a wolf in the slightest!”

Jay shrugged. “Neither do I.”

“Yes, you do, and anyway, that’s beside the point.”

“Is it? Why?”

“Because….” Tim tucked a stray strand of Jay’s chestnut hair behind his right ear before he bent over to kiss Jay tenderly. When he straightened up again, he said, “You should shift back. The earth is moist around here, and you’re already freezing.”

“I will if you promise to stop being such a prick.”

The bear snorted, and Robin coughed. When Tim glared at them, Robin whispered, “Shh, don’t set him off again.”

The bear rubbed his head against Robin’s face, eliciting a contented sigh from Robin. He felt safe with the bear surrounding him. His mate would protect him no matter what, Robin was certain of that.

“Robin?” Jay called out. “Go with your mate.”

“What? No! I have a say in where he goes—”

“Shut up, Tim,” Jay responded. He accompanied his response with an exaggerated eye roll, causing Robin to chuckle.

“Jay! He’s my baby brother, and I—”

“You will act like the great big brother you are and let him go with his mate. We can’t change the fact his mate isn’t a pure werewolf, Tim. Your parents are working hard on installing new laws and changing people’s perspectives. They’ll find a solution,” Jay said, although his voice didn’t hold much conviction.

Honorary Blogger Rory Ni Coileain: Traditional Fae Compared to the SoulShares Series – Excerpt & Giveaway!

Honorary_Blogger_Post

Traditional Fae Compared to the SoulShare Series

by Rory Ni Coileain

First, I’ve been a die-hard fantasy and science fiction addict for at least the last 40 years. I’ve read so many different “takes” on the Fae, the Sidhe, the Celtic supernatural in general that it’s hard for me to pin down any “traditional” lore to compare my writing to. Put another way, I have an incredibly rich and varied traditional palette to choose my colors from, but I’m not exactly sure where any individual color came from!

And there wasn’t any moment at which I sat down with my Muse and said “Okay, here’s what we have to choose from, which way are we taking this? Oh, and would you mind putting some trousers on, at least until we finish hashing this out? You’re quite distracting.” My Fae are at the same time completely out of my own imagination/my Muse’s dictation, and the product of those 40 years of gorging myself on everything from The Tragedy of the Children of Lir to Charles de Lint.

That being said, I’d say the strongest similarities between my work and traditional lore are in the personalities and nature of the Fae. A Fae in his or her own world, which they call the Realm, is pretty much completely self-absorbed, except for an inborn love for and loyalty to blood kin. The Realm and the human world were separated more than two thousand years ago, but Fae still have fond memories of the days when they could mess with handsome and beautiful humans at will. They’re capricious, unpredictable, pleasure-loving, and essentially immortal – they heal quickly from any wound that isn’t mortal by nature, but given that the only art form anywhere near as popular as sex is vendetta, there are a fair number of mortal-type wounds keeping the population down.

The biggest difference between my writing and traditional Fae lore (apart from the fact that my Fae don’t have wings – but they do have really cool faceted irises, like genstones) is probably the nature and workings of magick in my world. In my Evil Day Job, I’m a lawyer and an editor, which means I need my details to work, dammit. And since magick is at the core of my storyline, I needed a magickal system that clicked. (That’s not to say I have everything plotted out to a ‘t’, mind you – unfortunately, I keep getting lovely inspirations that really should have at least been foreshadowed two or three books ago. Someday I’ll rewrite…) My Fae don’t “cast spells” – they channel magick, sometimes in ways that are natural to them because of the Demesne to which they belong (Earth, Fire, Water, Air), and sometimes with the help of a learned channeling (similar to a spell). Magick is a living force, and while it follows certain natural laws, one gets the impression that it does so grudgingly, and occasionally just goes off and does whatever the hell it wants to. It pervades everything in the Realm, living and non-living alike. And living magick has a source, the energy that runs through ley lines. Think of it like gasoline and crude oil (if I ever come up with a more eco-friendly explanation, I’ll let you know).  Ley energy is the raw form of magickal energy; once it’s been processed (which occurs naturally in the Realm, and in the bodies of individual Fae under the right circumstances), it becomes living magick, and can sustain life and fuel channelings. (Oh, and then there’s elemental magick, which is a separate force that can be used by some Fae (the Noble families) and which basically forms a very few Fae (the Royals are essentially elementals. Fun times.) The problem in my world is that thousands of years ago, in order to save the Realm from destruction by the Marfach, an evil entity that devours and warps and corrupts living magick, the Fae were forced to seal off the Realm from the human world – and the ley energy is an indivisible part of the human world. So ever since the Sundering, the Realm and all its inhabitants have been living on their stored magick, with no access to the ley energy. And by the time the SoulShares series starts, this is beginning to cause problems.

About Hard As Stone

16097830Tiernan Guaire is a Fae in exile. Forced from the Realm into the human world for the unimaginable crime of a brother’s murder, he lives by a century-old vow, to trust no one, and never to allow himself to love or be loved.

Kevin Almstead has just lost his future, to a vote of the partners at his law firm. Trying to escape for an evening, he ventures into Purgatory, the hottest all-male nightclub in Washington, D.C., where he allows himself to be seduced by a stranger with long blond hair and ice-blue eyes.

Drawn into a Soulshare bond with his intended one-night stand, Tiernan soon learns that the most ancient and evil enemy of the Fae still walks the human world, and it will stop at nothing – certainly not Kevin Almstead – to possess the magick of a Noble Fae.

Tiernan stirred, muttered under his breath, the first signs of distress he’d shown since falling asleep. Passing out. Whatever. Kevin sighed, resting a hand lightly on the blond’s smooth chest; in short order, he found himself running his fingertips lightly over his lover’s chest, tracing the lines of the muscles, and then down, a fingertip traveling along the intricate tattoo over his hip. Tiernan wasn’t buff, not like some men were and Kevin himself tried to be. Lean, hard-bodied, almost impossibly fit. And with that long, unruly blond hair, and his crystalline blue eyes, Tiernan would turn heads in rooms full of men or women. And no doubt had.

Mine.

The Fae rolled onto his side, away from Kevin; chuckling softly, Kevin settled himself behind his lover, glancing over the shoulder in front of him at the bedside clock. He could still get almost three hours of sleep if he was lucky. He wrapped an arm around Tiernan, nuzzled into the curve where neck met shoulder, breathed in the scent of wild hair and sated male body and honey, and closed his eyes. So this is what magic smells like.

About Gale Force

1Conall Dary is the most powerful mage born to the Fae race since the Realm was parted from the human world, over two thousand years ago. But that very power condemns him to a lifetime of celibacy, because sex calls to power, and he has power enough to drain a world. When he refuses to use his talents for a Noble lady’s petty revenge, he finds himself shanghaied to the human world, his soul torn in half and his magick blocked.

Josh LaFontaine is the beautifully inked owner of Raging Art-On, a Washington, D.C. tattoo and piercing parlor. While taking part in New York City’s Pride march with a former lover’s dance company, his world changes forever when the man of his dreams materializes out of nowhere at his feet. Josh’s sensual and loving touch, the first Conall has ever known, may be enough to give him back the magick he’s lost. But before they can complete their Soulshare, a terrible accident leaves Conall bodiless, lost, and invisible, to everyone except – maybe – the human with whom he shares a soul. But Josh will need to find him before the ancient evil of the Marfach does or everything they have – and more – will be lost.

The sense of relief as he got out of the taxi was like nothing he’d ever felt before, and even knowing most of it wasn’t his own didn’t make it any less overwhelming. Only the presence of the foot traffic in and out of Purgatory kept him from falling to his knees in gratitude, maybe doing some pavement-kissing.

Well, that and a sense of haste only slightly less urgent than a cattle prod. He fumbled the keys off the hook at his belt and unlocked the deadbolt, then keyed in the combination on the touchpad, wincing as the tiny crystalline tones tried to pierce his eardrums.

Are you sure you can do this, lanan? There might be another way. Just let me think, now that I can.

Josh shook his head. Letting himself into the small client lounge in the front, he locked the door behind himself and made straight for the tattoo studio. “No time. Every minute you’re disembodied makes it less likely you’ll ever get back, you said so yourself. And me…” He paused, his hand on the doorknob of his studio. “I’m not sure how much longer I can stand this.”

About Deep Plunge

iFor the last six hundred years or so, the only things reminding Lochlann Doran he’s a Fae have been his faceted aquamarine eyes and the fact that he can’t die. He’s been a wanderer for so long in the human world – over two thousand years – that he’s lost his magick, including the gift of healing that goes along with being a Fae of the Demesne of Water. Finding his SoulShare might get it back for him. But it might kill him, too.

Garrett Templar has been living on borrowed time, in a sense, since he was eighteen, when one of the johns he entertained to pay the bills while he danced at Purgatory infected him with HIV. It was always supposed to be a “manageable” disease, though, at least until a cure was found. Except he’s just found out that the virus in his system has inexplicably mutated into full-blown AIDS, and no known drug cocktail can even slow it down.

And when Lochlann and Garrett find each other at last, on Purgatory’s dance floor, the only thing as urgent as their need for one another is the hunger of an ancient evil to do whatever is necessary to possess Lochlann’s magick…

Shit. His grip tightened on the strap of his bag, ready to swing it — or ditch it, if it looked like that would help him escape . And for one sick, sweaty, gut-wrenching moment, he was ten years old again, hearing the kids closing in behind him, knowing there was no way in hell he was going to get away without another split lip, ruined shirt, blackened eye. Almost hearing his mother’s voice again. Garrett Lee Templar, I swear, you find more trouble than any ten other boys ever dreamed of. Do you think I can just make new clothes appear out of thin air?

“Garrett?”

He recognized that voice from somewhere. Slowly, he turned. And stared up into eyes that gleamed blue even in the crappy light from the streetlight on the corner.

“Lochlann?” He hadn’t had to rent his ass out for a while now, but the idea of a john following him home from the club still made his skin crawl. Yet there was something about those eyes, something different.

No. Fuck that shit. You get hurt the worst when you let yourself hope.

About Firestorm

Firestorm (SoulShares, #4)Rian Sheridan is a foundling, a Northern Irish Catholic corner boy whose world was destroyed in fire, and reborn the same way, beside an Orangemen’s bonfire last July the Twelfth. A consuming, dimly-remembered pain in his past calls to him, taunting him, daring him to find it and lose himself to it in the S&M underground of Belfast.

Cuinn an Dearmad is the last surviving Fae Loremaster, and he’s just seen the beginning of the death of the Realm, the haven of the Fae race. The only hope of stopping it starts with him finding the Prince Royal of Fire he stole from the cradle, and lost in the human world, many years ago. He has a few guesses about where that hope ends, and he doesn’t like any of them.

Rian and Cuinn are an impossible pairing, two SoulShared Fae. Any two Fae will strike sparks, but these two Fae are a conflagration. Unable to stand one another, yet drawn into an escalating series of sexual collisions, their passion will either save a world or destroy it.

He gave up on trying to sleep, rolling onto his back and lying sprawled out in the great bed fit for a king. Or a Prince. Shite. He didn’t want to be a fecking Royal. Whatever that meant. But if there was one thing he could say he’d learned in life, it was that what he wanted had fuck all to do with what happened to him.

Though ever since the Twalf, last summer, there was one thing he nearly always got, when he wanted it. The thrill. They’d thought to break him that night, and perhaps they had, but after the breaking he’d been made anew. Into a man who craved what the bastards sought to shame him with, and who used them, in the end, more cruelly than they had used him. After all, he could use them, and others like them, any time he liked.

Addicted? Hell, no. Victorious.blogger_bee_trans

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa at the age of nineteen, sent off her first short story to an anthology being assembled by an author she idolized, got shot down in flames, and found other things to do, such as nightclub singing, for the next thirty years or so, until her stories started whispering to her. Now she’s a lawyer, a legal editor, a sopraltenor in her church choir, the mother of a budding video game designer, and amanuensis to a host of fantastic creatures who are all anxious to tell their stories, and sometimes even wait their turns.

You can find out more about Rory on her Facebook or check out the SoulShares Facebook page.

Nothing Special by Jay Northcote: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

An Exclusive Excerpt from Nothing Special

“D’you want me to take these off?” He gestured at the slightly baggy boxers he’d borrowed from Sol after their shower earlier.

“Only if you don’t mind.”

“Might as well do it properly.” Noah slid them down and kicked them off onto the floor. He felt a frisson of excitement at being naked while Sol was still covered, enjoying the odd mixture of embarrassment and arousal as Sol’s gaze swept over him. His cock thickened and filled a little, shifting slightly where it lay on his thigh.

Sol chuckled, his gaze drawn by the movement. “Stop that or I’ll never get started.”

Noah stretched out, folding his arms behind his head. “I can’t help it. It just happens when you look at me like that.”

Sol shook his head and got up to turn on the lamp by the bed. “You’re so easy. I like that in a man.” He moved the lamp so there was a little more light directed at Noah. “There. That’s perfect.” He sat back down and got to work.

About Nothing Special

1Noah thinks he’s nothing special. Average height, a bit on the skinny side, and cute but rather geeky, he’s relentlessly ordinary. He certainly doesn’t expect to be noticed by Sol, the gorgeous dark-haired stranger Noah sees on his commute home most days. But when Noah’s friend, Dom, persuades Noah to take a huge risk in a bid to get Sol’s attention, things turn out better than Noah dared to hope. Noah and Sol start dating, and much to Noah’s surprise, his feelings seem to be reciprocated.

But Noah’s insecurities make him doubt Sol. He doesn’t believe he’s interesting enough or sexy enough to hold Sol’s attention, and as Sol tries to get closer, Noah’s instinct is to pull away to protect himself. If their relationship is going to survive, Sol needs to convince Noah that he sees Noah very differently to how Noah sees himself. Because to Sol, Noah is something very special indeed.

About Jay Northcote

JN-001-JN-avi-500x500Jay lives just outside Bristol in the West of England, with her husband, two children, and two cats.

She comes from a family of writers, but she always used to believe that the gene for fiction writing had passed her by. She spent years only ever writing emails, articles, or website content. One day, she decided to try and write a short story–just to see if she could–and found it rather addictive. She hasn’t stopped writing since.

You can find Jay on her Website, Twitter, Facebook, Facebook Author Page, or Dreamspinner Press.

Honorary Blogger K. Vale: The ABCs of Romance: B is for Buddies – Excerpt + Giveaway!

The ABCs of Romance: B is for Buddies

by K. Vale

Hi, everyone! Kimber Vale here. Today I’m talking about the ABCs of romance. There is an A floating around the ether somewhere in case you’re OCD and can’t possibly read B first. Feel free to do a search because I’m not organized enough to have a link here or anything.

Okay? You done? Good. It’s B time, baby.

B is for buddies. I’m not saying every romantic relationship needs to start off with friendship. Plenty of them are launched with white hot passion and that can sustain a couple for a while. But eventually, lust gives way to either love or lassitude. Love needs mutual affection and comradery, not just animal magnetism, in order to grow. And hey, if you start out being friends in the first place, all the better in my opinion.

In my newest release, Hard Act to Follow, Greg and Kyrie are best friends—heck, they were even brothers in the eyes of the law until Greg and Jasmine, Kyrie’s sister, divorced. They’ve got a buddy base so stable, it’s nearly too solid to hold up a relationship, as it turns out. Eventually, though, they find a way past the complications their friendship places on a potential deeper relationship, and when they do, it’s pretty damn romantic, if I do say so myself.

An Excerpt from Hard Act to Follow

Kyrie cracked an eyelid and at first didn’t recognize where he was. In a heartbeat, the night washed over him in a mammoth tide of memories and prickly apprehension. He turned to see the other side of Greg’s queen bed. It was vacant; the curtain that separated Greg’s bedroom from his living space left open a foot.

Shit. Shit. Shit. You’ve really fuckin’ done it now, Kyr.

Why couldn’t he have just left it alone? He had told himself and told himself not to force things past the innocuous flirting he always did. It didn’t matter his best friend pushed every big bear button in Kyrie’s body. Didn’t matter he loved Greg more than he could ever say. That he felt safe and protected, and the fantastic permission to always be himself and be completely accepted around Greg.

I fucked it all up.

Greg wasn’t in bed anymore. Did he wake up at some point, look over to see his gay brother-in-law lying naked beside him, and run like hell?

Kyrie had drunk more than his fair share. Some parts of the night were fuzzy, but he knew exactly what had happened. Greg’s bedside drawer was still open. A box of condoms and the lube jeered at him from the tabletop. He opened the drawer wider to put them back. Hide the evidence. How drunk was Greg? Did he even remember?

Kyrie tried to tick off the number of drinks he’d pushed on the guy. You fuckin’ got him blasted because you are fucked up in the head! You got exactly what you wanted, stupid! Maybe Greg wouldn’t remember? Maybe it could be like it never happened. Yeah, right.

A flash of color caught his eye from inside the drawer, and he picked it out. The photo… from my fridge? Kyrie hadn’t noticed it was gone. The picture was folded in half, dividing Kyrie and Jazz.

Jazz.

Greg was still hung up on her.

Lube and a picture of my sister by his bed? Kyrie shook his head, denying the evidence before him. He picked up the box of rubbers, hoping against hope to prove himself wrong.

Expired. Probably a holdover from their marriage, for God’s sake! Kyrie placed the entire jerk-off-kit-slash-shrine-to-his-sister back in the drawer and closed it, a chill enveloping his entire being, trying to suck him down into some frigid hell.

About Hard Act to Follow

Kyrie is an actor with a physical aversion to telling lies, a one-eyed cat, and horrible taste in men. His ex-brother-in-law and best friend, Greg, harbors a secret crush he can’t shake. After denying his feelings for Kyrie for too long, Greg finally gives in to desire one drunken night. Come the morning, the facts get twisted. Kyrie pretends he doesn’t remember a thing—a lie that eats him alive—and Greg can’t stop thinking about how he screwed up the best thing in his life.

Before they can clear the air, Kyrie follows his dreams to New York City, but could he also be running away?

A mistake from Kyrie’s past detonates their silence, and Greg is forced to confront the man he loves. Is their new truth strong enough to support a relationship, or are they doomed to crumble under old fears? Their friendship could evolve into something a million times stronger, but maybe Kyrie’s act is just too hard for Greg to follow.
