A relationship is not something he has ever really wanted. Making big plans for the future is not in his nature – Jared is content with his single status and enjoying all the benefits of that lifestyle.

He doesn’t even realise something is missing in his life.
Until he meets Fenix.

Fenix Bergman has a dream – to perform on Broadway. When he gets offered the lead role in Poison – a new musical based in London, he accepts, immediately recognising the huge potential of the show.

Fenix thinks he has his life completely figured out – he will move to London, help Poison become the new West End hit and bide his time until Broadway comes knocking on his door. He has never wished for anything else but proving to himself and the world that he is a performer worthy of the biggest theatre stage.
Until he meets Jared.

Jared and Fenix’s lives collide and they fill each other’s missing pieces. Neither of them expects to feel so much, so fast for the other.

Neither of them expects to need someone so badly when love hasn’t even been in their plans.

Honorary Blogger Lisa Henry: Thanks for Reading!

Honorary_Blogger_Post

Thanks for Reading!

by Lisa Henry

I’m so excited to be the spotlight author here at The Blogger Girls for July.

For those of you don’t know me or who haven’t read my stuff, I guess there are a few things I’d like to tell you.

First: me! I live in tropical North Queensland, Australia. I still can’t figure out why, since I hate the heat. But it’s winter at the moment, so it’s lovely. Winter translates as “any weather where you have to turn the fan off and wear socks”. I live in an old house. Possums break in at night. I’ve given up trying to stop them.

In my day job, I work as a police dispatcher. Sometimes this is incredibly stressful, and sometimes it’s incredibly boring. Often, those two things happen within the same ten minute period. It also means I work a lot of odd hours, which I actually don’t mind. It gives me lots of time to write.

Firstly, I’ll write anything. Contemporary, historical, sci-fi, fantasy. Cops, cowboys, or guys with regular jobs. Any and all levels of heat. And kink. As long as the story has room for two guys to get it on (and which story doesn’t?) then I’ll write it.

Secondly, I tend to skew dark. This means there will be angst, and a lot of it. My guys have to work for their happy endings. There are no free lunches on my watch. Seriously, if I’m not physiologically torturing a character (or, you know, actually torturing one) I start to get the shakes. As a writer, I am a complete sadist. But as a person, I promise I’m not that scary at all.

The darkest book I’ve written would be Another Man’s Treasure, with my co-author the awesome J.A. Rock. The most light-hearted book I’ve written would be Mark Cooper versus America, also with J.A. Rock. I write a lot with J.A. Sometimes I like to imagine that readers are trying to figure out which one of us is good twin and which one is the evil twin. We are both the evil twin.

I also write with Heidi Belleau. My next book – Bliss – is co-written with Heidi, and is due out from Riptide on 18 August. It’s a bit of a spec-fic dystopia, with added evil mind control. Not for the faint-hearted!

My first book was Tribute, released back in 2011. I think I’ve grown as a writer. I hope I have! It feels like I’m learning something new every day. Since Tribute I’ve written what feels like a lot of books. But also, I’ve had the time of my life. I’ve always loved to write, and discovering there are people out there who actually love to read what I write is the best feeling in the world. So, to everyone out there who has ever picked up one my books, thanks for reading!

About Lisa Henry

Lisa likes to tell stories, mostly with hot guys and happily endings.

She lives in tropical North Queensland, Australia. She doesn’t know why, because she hates the heat, but she suspects she’s too lazy to move. She spends half her time slaving away as a government minion, and the other half plotting her escape.

She attended university at sixteen, not because she was a child prodigy or anything, but because of a mix-up between international school systems early in life. She studied History and English, neither of them very thoroughly.

She shares her house with too many cats, a dog, a green tree frog that swims in the toilet, and as many possums as can break in every night. This is not how she imagined life as a grown-up.

And don’t forget you can follow me on Facebook, or Twitter, or Goodreads, or check out my website. I’d love to hear from you!

Six months after he was wrongly made a suspect in his parents’ Ponzi scheme, he’s settled down with his older boyfriend, Derek, and is working and attending school. But his happiness is threatened when his mother launches a Christmastime PR campaign to help appeal her prison sentence, and asks introverted Lane to be part of it.

Derek Fields has his hands full taking Santa photos, bird-sitting his sister’s foul-mouthed macaw, and helping Lane prepare for a television interview neither of them wants him to do. As he eases Lane through his anxiety, he worries that Lane sees him as a caretaker rather than a boyfriend, and that their age difference really does matter. He and Lane compensate for the stress in their lives by taking their D/s relationship to new levels–a relationship that Lane’s mother insists he should be ashamed of.

As Christmas draws nearer, the pressure builds. Pushy elves. Snarky subs. A bad fight. A parrot in peril. How the hell is Derek going to give Lane a perfect Christmas when the Moredock legacy threatens to pull them apart before the new year?

Honorary Blogger Brigham Vaughn: Excerpt & Giveaway!

An Excerpt from Equals

by Brigham Vaughn

“Thanks again for all of your help,” Russ said with a sigh. “I seriously can’t thank you enough.”

Stephen looked away from the TV and shook his head, glancing at Russ with a small smile. “It’s the least I could do. I feel responsible for what happened.”

Russ smiled back, Stephen’s earnestness relaxing him. “Let’s call it even then, I guess. Or we could be up all night with this.”

Stephen quirked an eyebrow up at him, eyes crinkling at the corners with amusement. Fuck, what a turn on. Why older men were such an attraction for him, he’d never be sure, but he’d realized it in college and had had a brief fling with a professor after the semester was over. It wasn’t the forbidden aspect of it—they’d both waited until after Russ was no longer his student—but he liked the age difference.

A man with a fit body, handsome face, graying hair, and a killer smile always got him going. Hell, his head and ankle still ached and he was starting to get hard. And was Stephen flirting? God, Russ hoped so. Couldn’t hurt to flirt back. “Well, being up all night isn’t always a bad thing.”

Stephen’s lips turned up at the corners in amusement. “You don’t think so?”

Russ shrugged. “It depends on the reason, doesn’t it?”

“Yes, I suppose it does,” Stephen murmured. He shifted to face Russ. “I’m afraid all of the best reasons are off the table.”

“Too bad.” Russ stared at Stephen’s lips and licked his own.

“Is it? Well, I suppose you did sleep all day, you’re probably not tired. Still, there’s work in the morning, and you’ll need rest to heal.”

Russ sighed, knowing Stephen was right, but wondering if the conversation had been dancing around the subject he’d been wondering about for a while now. He didn’t think he imagined the attraction between him and Stephen. Now the question was if they were going to do something about it or ignore it.

“Yes, I suppose so.”

However, the twenty year age gap between them proves difficult when they begin dating. Fiercely independent, Russ isn’t sure he’s ready for long-term commitment. Scarred from a previous relationship, Stephen is afraid history is repeating itself. Is there any way for them to meet in the middle and become equals?
