Release Blitz: Love Kills by Michael Mandrake + Giveaway!

Love Kills by Michael Mandrake

Deranged birds of a feather flock together… leaving trails of blood in their wake.

Holland has fantasies most can’t accept. When potential mates discover Holland’s bloodlust, it’s too late for them to refuse. Determined to get what he wants, Holland continues to seek a man to fulfill his deepest desire and he won’t stop at anything

Archer is inspired and aroused by the tales he’s heard from his boyfriend. Still, he’s greedy for something that pushes him over the edge. Although this might drive him and his partner apart, Archer’s dark want won’t disappear.

Clint’s love for his job has slipped for years, and he’s pondered change. These days he’s cared more about how to please his man, than the rigorous position of solving murder cases. Clint thinks his attitude will eventually get better, thus prompting him to stay aboard. Still, the constant worry of Archer finding someone new niggles at him.

Putting sketchy characters behind bars had always been Clint’s forte, but when new feelings arise, Clint’s conscience is tested. Furthermore, what will happen if Clint is forced to choose between the love of his life, his career, and his morality?

This book is part of CRIMINAL DELIGHTS. Each novel can be read as a standalone and contains a dark M/M romance.

Warning: These books are for adult readers who enjoy stories where lines between right and wrong get blurry. High heat, twisted and tantalizing, these are not for the fainthearted.

The Duke & The Dandy Highwayman Trilogy by Zakarrie Clarke: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from The Duke & The Dandy Highwayman Trilogy

by Zakarrie Clarke

“Good Evening, Y’Grace.”

“Evening, dear Jack. Good, ’twas not.” Padraic rolled despairing eyes at his driver, who doffed his cap and bobbed a brief bow, alongside a pitiful attempt to suppress a grin. “Pray tell, when will you dispense with your infernal Your Gracing?” The Duke sighed.

“On a cold day in hell, Y’Grace,” his erstwhile coachman replied, tugging open the door of Padraic’s carriage.

“Thought as much, you blackguard. Have you been up to anything imprudent in my absence? I certainly hope so, my evening has been insufferable,” Padraic grumbled, removing his hat to better fold himself into the coach. He didn’t even bother trying to get comfy; ’twould prove a pointless endeavour, unless he also removed his legs.

“I went avisitin’ Nell, an’ she was obliging, as ever, Y’Grace.”

“Good chap. Do remind me to furnish you with a smidge extra this week, as there are three further functions I must y’grace with my presence. ’Twould not do to deprive you of Nellie’s buxom bounty while you wait. One of us should be guaranteed a diverting evening.”

“Thank ye, Y’Grace.”

“You’re welcome. I will see you another five crowns, if you’ll call me Padraic.”

“That’d be most unseemly, Y’Grace.”

“Oh, bugger. I’m quite obviously milking a pigeon. Go and bestir the horses then, you scoundrel, I have a tryst with the green fairy to attend to.”

“That stuff’ll rot ye brain, Y’Grace.”

“I bloomin’ well hope it gets on with it then, so I might be better equipped to endure the season.”

After performing yet another bow, Jack made fast the door and took himself off to wield his whip. The night had turned nippy while Padraic suffered the first ball of the season, so he huddled into his greatcoat and helped himself to a hefty tot of gin, to warm his insides afore his balls turned as blue as his blood. He had a diary full of functions hovering on his horizon, and worse, a whole host of hyphenated-heiresses to flatter with pretty turns of phrase. Padraic cared nary a jot for inheritances, dowries or debutantes, but the plonking of a coronet atop your head carried certain obligations. First and foremost, duty decreed that he must sire a Waterford Duke-in-waiting. Splendid. Thus, he needed a suitable chatelaine to make mistress of his household and…heart.

The latter was less likely than the Duchess of Devonshire eschewing the gaming tables, so the former would have to suffice. This foreboding future was made marginally less bleak by the fact that affairs and intrigues had e’er been rife in the ton. The family façade must be honoured and its future assured, but the safe arrival of a newborn Earl would leave he and his radiant bride free to pursue their own pleasures. In the meantime, Padraic must attend all manner of soulless soirées; subsisting on nocturnal excursions that promised charms he would ne’er find in the arms of a Lady. These dalliances did add a dash of decadence to a life of ducal drudgery, but… Quite what he yearned for, Padraic was unsure. Consciously.

A secret, sacred, part of himself knew all-too well what he craved; recognised too, that it would ne’er be found in the empty embrace of a disreputable inn. Padraic had hoped he might happen upon it amongst the fine flowers from the forces. Caddish cadets aplenty who promenaded Piccadilly, plying their well-honed, well-hung, virility for a few shillings. While that always guaranteed an energetic night’s entertainment…still, his innermost-self hungered. A bid to leave no stone unturned in his efforts to sate it had raked in a few fleeting flings with fine-boned, porcelain-skinned fops—but truth be told—Padraic preferred the brutal beauty plied far from the gilded confines of Gentleman’s clubs…

His breeches were now as cramped as his legs. Marvellous. They had driven in entirely the wrong direction to visit any of the inns he frequented. A detour to White’s or Brooks’s—where there was bound to be a randy rake out on the prowl—didn’t tickle Padraic’s fancy either. In all honesty, he couldn’t recall the last time something had truly tickled his anything. The Duke invariably found himself bored t’bejeezus by the time the double doors had swept open with a flourish and the footman reeled off his title:

‘The Most High, Noble and Potent Prince, His Grace Padraic, Duke of Waterford.

The King’s Fear by Isaac Grisham: Exclusive Excerpt!

Blogger_Exclusive Excerpt

Exclusive Excerpt from The King’s Fear

by Isaac Grisham

Kitsune’s sword ground against the rocky wall of the hallway. A girlish laughter rang in his ears as sparks flew off the blade. He grabbed a hold of the bits of fire with his mind and, spinning about, threw out a roaring ring of flame. His rage fed the magic, and he had days of pent-up wrath. The fire moved across the walls, ceiling, and floor like water in a riverbed, and columns of fire connected the ceiling and floor. Everything outside of a two-footfall radius of his body was consumed by the deadly, heated air.

The woman had either anticipated his actions or was incredibly lucky. Inside the safe area about his person, she stood directly in front of him, the flames outlining her figure. Their two noses were only a finger’s width apart as she stared into his face.

“Don’t want to know my name before you stab me?” She moved forward, opening her mouth. Kitsune thought she was going to bite into his cheek, but she instead stuck out her tongue and licked it. Leaving behind a trail of saliva, she whispered into his ear, “I want to know yours.”

Kitsune shuddered in revulsion, and the flames around them winked out. He would have backed up if it weren’t for the wall behind him, so he pushed her away.

“Spirits, who are you?” he said, wiping at the spit with his sleeve.

“Oh, good, we are going to play!” Still holding her blade, she gave a formal bow. “My name is Mai.”

Ashore by Isabelle Adler: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from Ashore

by Isabelle Adler

It was easy to lose track of time on a spaceship that was by no means run with military precision, but lunch hour was studiously observed by everybody. They all took turns cooking meals and cleaning up, but out of the four of them, Tony was the only one who could whip up anything worth eating. Matt and Val’s idea of fixing lunch was heating up a can of soup, and while Ryce put much more effort into diversifying the menu, his food usually ended up under- or overcooked to a degree Matt had never thought possible in a fully digitalized kitchen.

The entire crew was already gathered around the table, and they all looked up expectantly when he entered. Matt offered them as cheerful a smile as he could manage under the circumstances, and took a seat.

“So, folks. I’m sure you all already know about our predicament, and I’m not going to sugarcoat this. Until we come up with the cash to fix the engine, we’re basically dead in the water. Or stuck ashore, as the case is.”

Tony, his first mate and Lady Lisa’s makeshift medic, tugged at her braid thoughtfully. “This means we don’t actually have the cash.”

“Not enough to cover all the expenses.” It wasn’t something Matt was proud to be telling his crew, but he’d done his best to manage the finances frugally. It was just that regular maintenance was damn expensive.

“It’s my responsibility, and I’ll find a way to get us through it,” he continued. “In the meantime, I won’t hold anyone to their contract, if any of you decide to leave. I know the pay is hardly what you deserve…”

Matt trailed off as Tony made a face at him and Val shook his head. Ryce merely leaned back in his chair, his arms crossed over his chest.

“Don’t be a fool.” For all her petite stature, Tony could certainly sound intimidating when she wanted to. “Nobody’s leaving. It’s not the first time we’ve been in a jam together, and it sure as hell won’t be the last.”

“I might have to sell my body at the Freeport canteen just to pay for our meals,” Matt said mournfully. It was easier to turn this into a joke than acknowledge the lump suddenly lodged at the back of his throat.

“How much do you think your body might be worth?” Ryce asked.

“With all the crap he puts in it?” Tony scooped a generous portion of the stew from the steaming pot and plopped it on her plate. “I doubt it would buy us as much as a protein bar.”

“It’s not crap,” Matt said defensively. “It’s the highest quality caffeine and alcohol the black market has to offer.”

“Actually, the canteen is not a bad idea,” Val said in that quietly rumbling voice of his. He shrugged when everybody looked over at him in surprise. “It’s as good a place as any to scout for jobs. It’s true we’re not going anywhere, but if Captain can work out a down payment with a prospective client, we can buy what is needed and still make the run.”

It all sounded simple enough. A sufficient advance on their fee would solve their problem without the customer even knowing there was one. The trouble was finding someone to hire them before word got out about their situation. News and gossip traveled fast on Freeports, despite the stations’ impressive size. Their scoping for engine parts would definitely raise questions. Nobody wanted to entrust their cargo to a faulty ship, or risk getting scammed altogether if said ship was, in fact, out of service.

“Good idea,” Matt said, getting up. “I might as well get on it.”
