Blurb:  Eight years ago Jesse Colter fled his small town, leaving behind eighteen-year-old Sarah Marshall. Now a retired Navy SEAL, he’s back and he wants only one thing—Sarah Marshall—bound, naked, and kneeling before him.

Sarah has never forgotten Jesse, the object of all her sexual fantasies since she was fifteen, as well as the star of nightly dreams that have become increasingly erotic over the years. So when he suddenly reappears in her life, she warily agrees to let him introduce her to his world—the world of BDSM. When he also introduces her to his best friend, Adam Sinclair, Sarah faces the challenge of submitting to two powerful, Dominant men.

But Sarah has an even bigger challenge. A stalker. Someone from her past, determined to destroy any chance she has at happiness. Can Adam and Jesse love and protect her? Or will her world explode in betrayal and violence that will destroy them all?

This is one of the best erotica/BDSM stories I have read this year. First of all, the characters were EXTREMELY well written. Julie Shelton is a great wordsmith. She includes a lot of detail, but it’s not overwhelming. Her dialogue is very realistic, and her characters are fleshed out perfectly. You feel like you’re reading about real people having real conversations.

The story itself was brilliant. The BDSM scenes were some of the hottest I have ever read, and I loved it even more when Adam finally got involved. The relationship between the three characters was lovely because even though it was quite hardcore BDSM, you could still feel the love and respect they had for each other.

My only real issue here is the (what I consider anyway) unusual amount of violence. A lot of bad things happen to Sarah (and the other characters as well) from the very beginning. Some of these things are quite brutal. Several times, I had to put the Kindle down and walk away. Not because I was disgusted, but because I was nervous. I found myself being very afraid of what was coming next. This book is classified as an erotic BDSM romance, but I would say that it’s more of an action mystery with a lot of really great sex thrown in.

All in all, I thought this was a very good book. As I said before, the writing is pitch perfect. Ms. Shelton weaves an excellent tale. It is filled with gut-wrenching moments that pull at your heart. I’m very impressed. It’s not for the faint of heart, but I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to receive and start the next book and secondly, cliffhangers get me every time.

Overall Impression: I really liked it!

*I received a copy of this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.*
