Blurb:  Brandt Davis loved being part of his Michigan werewolf pack, until they found his stash of gay porn. He escaped their anger, running in wolf-form into the wilderness, but he can’t live that way forever. And he can’t hide in fur like a coward when an injured man needs his help.

Ethan Sjulstad knows life is making him crazy when a solo hike into the Minnesota Boundary Waters seems reasonable. Then a bad fall leaves him seriously hurt and facing death. Delirious, he hallucinates being rescued by a big grey wolf and a naked woodland godling. For a man who has always loved fantasy, it’s worth surviving just to find out what the hell is going on.

Review: This series is just amazingly wonderful and it keeps getting better!

The books are longish, and I always want to savor them, so it’s taken me awhile to get through them. In this case, we have another human/wolf pairing and that includes the same host of secrets and risks that we’ve seen with Paul and Simon.

However, the “gay” issues were only in Brandt’s original pack and ironically – he’s not gay, but bi – his issues is a bit more – unique than just his sexual orientation. (I think you can tell from the other reviews what the issue is if you look – but I’m not gonna say! Only that it’s wonderful and sexy and Kaje really did a terrific job explaining it. I also really loved how accepting Ethan was about the issue and in the end when Ethan can “see” exactly how Brandt feels to be accepted – I was so touched!)

It’s great seeing the other couples again – but this is definitely Brandt’s and Ethan’s book. Even so, I don’t think this is good as a standalone simply because of all the world building and politics that you’d miss – but you would still enjoy it, just not as much. (Zach and Aaron have some exciting news that TOTALLY made this book go from awesome to ROCK AWESOME and possibly makes it my favorite in the series.)

As usual, there are some outside forces trying to keep our MCs apart as well as stirring up trouble for Aaron’s pack, but I think the relationship building in this story was really the central theme.

I really felt the strong connection between Ethan and Brandt – maybe the strongest of the three pairs we’ve seen so far – and I just loved the tender moments – and sexy times!- they shared.

Highly Recommended!

Overall Impression: It was amazing!

*I purchased my own copy of this book for my review.*
