Exclusive Excerpt from The One Night Plan

It sucked that Nick had fucked and run, and Lucas hated that he’d hadn’t had the forethought to at least get his number. He shifted in his seat a little and the ache in his ass reminded him it had been real.

Memories of Nick floated to Lucas’s consciousness. God, giving over felt so good. The way he manhandled me … Lucas shivered, despite the warmth of the arena. Pushing his knee between my legs and throwing me against the door like that …

The crowd screamed, hysterical, snapping Lucas back to the moment. A guy wearing a black suit ran on stage and launched into a song immediately.

“These guys aren’t bad,” Lucas said. He leaned forward to get a better look and the video projected to the massive screens bracketing the stage cut to the drummer’s face. Lucas’s stomach lurched and roiled, blood draining from his face. “Who’s that?”

Shane pointed. “That’s Nicky, their drummer. The other guy is Ryan, lead singer and a host of other things.”

Ari laughed. “What other things?”

Shane shrugged. “Ryan’s known for sleeping around with fans. A lot.”

Lucas didn’t care about that. He scowled. Why didn’t they see how important this was? “Nicky?”

“Yeah, Nicky Vaughn. He and Ryan formed the band, God, I don’t know, like ten years ago or something. I don’t know the whole story. He seems like a cool guy though. Keeps Ryan in check, from what I hear. We’re going to meet them after the show. Why?”

The camera had long since cut away from Nicky’s face, but the image haunted Lucas. He couldn’t possibly be mistaken. Nicky was definitely Nick, the guy he’d just slept with. Holy shit. I cannot believe I just fucked the drummer for Boyfriend of the Loveless. No wonder he had to run. For the rest of the show, Lucas leaned forward, staring at Nick—Nicky. God, no wonder his fucking arms were so strong. The way he held me down as he plowed me into the mattress … it makes sense.
