Gentleman Wolf by Joanna Chambers

An elegant werewolf in Edinburgh…

1788. When Lindsay Somerville, the most elegant werewolf in Paris, learns that the man who held him in abject captivity for decades is on his way to France, intent on recapturing him, he knows he must leave the Continent for his own safety. Lindsay cannot take the risk of being recaptured—he may have been free for a century but he can still feel the ghost of his old chains under his fine clothes.

… on a mission…

While he’s in Edinburgh, Lindsay has been tasked with acquiring the “Naismith Papers”, the writings of a long-dead witchfinder. It should be a straightforward mission—all Lindsay has to do is charm an elderly book collector, Hector Cruikshank. But Cruikshank may not be all he seems, and there are others who want the papers.

… meets his match.

As if that were not enough, while tracking down the Naismith Papers, Lindsay meets stubborn architect Drew Nicol. Although the attraction between them is intense, Nicol seems frustratingly determined to resist Lindsay’s advances. Somehow though, Lindsay can’t seem to accept Nicol’s rejection. Is he just moonstruck, or is Nicol bonded to him in ways he doesn’t yet understand?

Note: this is the first book of a duology – the story continues and will complete in the second book, Master Wolf.

Eighteen Moons by Andi Webb: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from Eighteen Moons

by Andi Webb

Chapter One
The Patter of Tiny Paws

‘He’s adorable!’
‘He is. Perfect.’
We looked at one another and grinned as a small bundle of white fur crawled steadily towards us. We had both fallen instantly and totally in love. We were in the large garden of a house in West Sussex and the two of us were peering over the top of an old-fashioned pigsty on stilts. Inside were twelve perfect white puppies, just a couple of weeks old.
We’d asked the breeder, Mrs Bennett, how many boys there were.

‘Just the two,’ she’d said, pulling out one pup after another and turning them upside down. When she’d found the two males, she placed them at the opposite end of the pigsty. One began crawling straight back to his sisters while the other, steady and determined, headed towards us.

We’d found our boy.
We’d agreed on a name before we met him. Remus. And it suited him. ‘Come on Remus,’ I whispered, as he reached my outstretched hand and was rewarded with a gentle scratch behind his tiny ear.
‘By the time you collect him he’ll have his spots,’ Mrs B said.
Yes, our ‘first-born’ was a Dalmatian. Known for being a lively and intelligent breed. Also, as we were soon to discover, hyperactive and ferociously needy.

Tearing ourselves away we arranged to pick Remus up in six weeks’ time and set off on the two-hour drive home. I was beside myself with excitement, already planning my trip to buy a bed, blankets, toys and treats for the new addition to our family. John, at the wheel, was quiet, focussing on the road. But I knew he was as happy as I was. We’d waited a long time to make this commitment but now the time felt right and we both felt good about it.

Both in our mid-thirties, we’d been a couple for eight years. Buying our London flat after three years had been part of our decision to settle down together, although I think we both knew from the moment we met that we’d stay together. Creating a ‘nest’ for the two of us was the next step as we made the inevitable transition from being young men partying about town to a couple who preferred quiet dinners a deux or curling up on the sofa and watching a film.

That had been five years earlier. And not long after we put the finishing touches to our flat, we had begun to hanker for the patter of tiny feet or, in our case, paws. We’d put it off because we were both out all day; I was working in clothing design, with a small workshop of my own while John was an accountant. We both worked long hours and we didn’t want to leave a dog cooped up at home.

But as time passed, we began to feel seriously broody. This was only made worse when a friend gave us a Disney Dalmatian toy one Christmas. She did say it was probably as close to a real dog as we should get. And we did listen to her, for a bit, but in the end our longing for a real canine to cuddle won over all practical considerations. The flat just didn’t feel right without a dog.

Appeal To You by Jaclyn Quinn: Exclusive Excerpt!

Exclusive Excerpt from Appeal To You

by Jaclyn Quinn

“Did you draw that?” Avery pointed to a picture of the Grim Reaper he’d done ages ago. As Avery stood there studying it, Ryder wondered if maybe he saw something Ryder didn’t.

“Yeah. Not my finest work, but…” Ryder peeled his T-shirt over his head and tossed it on the chair in the corner.

“That’s really damn good for not being your finest”—Avery turned, his gaze scanning the length of Ryder’s bare skin—“work.” He rubbed his hands nervously together, averting his eyes. “I should go.”

Ryder took the few steps needed to be right in front of the sexy man. “Why are you fighting this so damn hard?” He moved in closer, glancing down between their bodies. “And I do mean hard.”

A low growl rumbled in Avery’s chest as he moved forward, backing Ryder up against the nearest wall—and hell fucking yes was there heat in those gorgeous, Caribbean blue eyes.

Avery pressed closer, holding Ryder’s arms down next to his sides, their cocks aligning through their pants. “Because you’re about to pass out from exhaustion, and I’ve been here once before.” Avery leaned in and licked Ryder’s bottom lip, and Ryder just about came right then in his goddamn jeans. “Do you know the difference between you and me, Ryder?” Avery rubbed his soft lips against Ryder’s, sliding the tip of his tongue in only enough for Ryder to get a teasing taste.

“What? What’s the…? What the fuck is the difference?” Jesus Christ, the man was melting all logical thought with just the tip of his delicious tongue.

Avery moved his mouth across Ryder’s jaw, licking a path up to Ryder’s ear. “When I’m drunk, I could get you from Jersey to anywhere and back. I remember everything.” Avery let go of Ryder’s left arm but growled, “Don’t move.”

“Hot damn,” Ryder whispered, but through his lust-filled haze, Avery’s words…from Jersey to anywhere and back…teased some distant corner of his mind.

Avery slid his hand over Ryder’s erection, and Ryder’s eyes fucking crossed then pressed closed from sheer desire. “I’m telling you right now”—Avery kissed Ryder again, but it was still barely enough to taste him—“if I ever take this”—he slid both hands back behind Ryder, cupping each rounded cheek—“you can literally bet your ass you’ll fucking remember it.”

“Why are we still talking?”

“I want you to enjoy the time we spend together,” Eric said.

“And I didn’t the first time?”

Eric held the crystal glass between his palms. “I don’t know. I suspect you’re a very good actor.”

Will chewed his lower lip, and God, the sight made Eric want to wrench his whore from the chair and kiss him until he passed out.

“We’ll be spending some time together in the coming weeks, and I’d prefer it if you didn’t fake anything. I deal with yes-men all day; it’s only fair I’d like my nights to be different.”

“Only fair,” Will repeated.

“If I do anything you don’t like, tell me. If you want to try something, let me know. You don’t seem to have trouble voicing your opinion.”

Will’s eyes appraised him, and Eric felt studied. There was intelligence behind that gaze, which made Eric question how Will ended up at Le Chateau. Maybe one day he would ask. But not yet.

“I’ve thought about you in the past few days. How it feels to fuck you, to crush your body under mine. I’ve heard your voice, begging for more.” Eric sighed. “Sometimes I can even feel your skin on my hands. But there’s no conjuring the way you taste, the way your mouth feels.” He shook his head. “There’s no imagining that.”

Eric noticed Will’s hand had curled into a claw on the armrest. Eric stood and crossed the small empty space between them. He latched onto Will’s wrist and pulled him to his feet. He ran his hand down the front of Will’s chest, over his abdomen, and finally cupped Will’s hard length in his palm, which made Will hiss.

“That’s what I was waiting for,” Eric whispered.

Will dropped the scotch glass on the carpet, where it tumbled and spilled. “Kiss me, you idiot.”

Eric smiled, wrapped his fingers through the hair on the back of Will’s neck, and brought their mouths together. Will responded with immediate tongue and pulled Eric’s face closer with both hands on his cheeks.

They tumbled onto the bed, still fully clothed. Eric registered the sound of Will’s shoes hitting the floor, but mostly, his mind clung to the desperate sighs and low growls of his partner. Will’s voice was an orchestra of ardor that, like the pied piper, beckoned Eric’s body near. He shoved at the suit coat on Will’s shoulders. He pulled at the fabric of his shirt, tugging the tails free of Will’s trousers. They would never make it to full nudity, not with the way they rutted against each other—the way Will’s head fell back on the bed as he thrust against Eric’s hand. But no need to stain their fine suits.

Behind The Stick Playlist

by K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn

Hi! We’re K. Evan Coles and Brigham Vaughn and we’re grateful to be here today with the Blogger Girls to share our latest co-written release, Behind the Stick, The Speakeasy #3.

As music lovers, we often create playlists for our characters as we write. Behind the Stick’s main characters are city dwellers, and it’s easy to imagine them making their way around Manhattan and its boroughs, earbuds in place and tunes cranked. Mixologist and speakeasy owner Kyle McKee is at home on a nightclub dancefloor as well as behind the bar, while firefighter Luka Clarke, who is a lieutenant with the FDNY, inherited a love of music from his big, boisterous family. As they grow close, Kyle and Luka even discover a shared appreciation for swing, something that comes in handy while out one evening with Luka’s family.

Below are some songs from a Behind the Stick playlist. We hope you’ll enjoy them through the YouTube links we’ve provided, and that they entice you to get to know Kyle and Luka, and even love them as we do.
