Exclusive Excerpt from You Can’t Stop Loving Someone Just Like That

by Lily G. Blunt

HIS BREATHING was rapid, so I knew he wasn’t asleep.

I peered through the darkness of my bedroom, squinting, trying to make out the outline of his body under the covers. He was lying on his back with his arms folded firmly across his chest—another clue to tell me he was still awake.

For the sixth night running now, I wanted to leap out of bed and snuggle down next to him. But as he’d given me no indication he was gay, or that he would welcome such a move, I remained motionless.

My cock ached, yearning for release, and I was fighting a losing battle against stroking it. I knew he’d hear my movements if I gave myself some welcome relief.

I’d only known Pierre for a week, and yet my body was wound up by his presence in my bedroom. Taking deep, relaxing breaths, I willed myself to sleep, but all I could think about was him—his face, the way he smiled, the way his body moved—in fact, everything about him. He was the boy of my dreams—good-looking beyond words with such a wonderful, vibrant personality. I truly thought I’d found the person I wanted to share the rest of my life with.

And to think, I might never have met him.

A few months earlier, I’d cursed my mother when she’d suggested hosting a foreign exchange student over the school summer holidays. She thought I’d appreciate the company and felt I needed to make new friends.

“Get used to meeting new people, Corey,” she encouraged.

She claimed I was becoming a recluse at the tender age of eighteen. I argued that I didn’t want to waste the remaining precious weeks of my summer holiday with some unknown person from another country before I headed off to college. It would also mean that after he’d gone, I’d have less than a week to get packed up and organised in time to start living away from home.

She was truly concerned and insisted the company would be good for me. I’d been spending more and more time alone because the only person I really wanted to be with was my best friend, Jack. Since coming out to him a few years ago, our friendship had petered away. He was still my best friend—in fact, he was my only true friend. We just didn’t see each other very often, and that was entirely my own fault.

Leaning Into the Look by Lane Hayes: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from Leaning Into the Look

by Lane Hayes

Whatever I was about to say was reduced to static when Miles smiled. It was no ordinary smile. This one had impact. It hit me smack in the middle of my chest. I couldn’t help returning the gesture times ten. We stood there grinning at each other like a couple of fools for a long moment until his cell buzzed.

Miles pulled his phone from his pocket and read his text.

“Eric needs something from his bag.” He responded to the message and then waited for a response before reading aloud, “ ‘It’s at the house, in the blue guest room.’ I suppose I’d better get back to work. I’ll walk with you till the path ends then head up the hill. You can entertain me on the way.”

“What kind of entertainment did you have in mind?”

“Tell me about your love life,” he suggested, batting his eyelashes when I gave him a funny look.

I huffed. “It’s good it’s a short walk back, because I have nothing to share.”

“No sordid affairs, clingy lovers, or troublesome conquests?”

I snickered at his faux-serious tone. “Nothing. Sorry to disappoint you. At the moment, I’m kinda grateful. I’ll have my hands full dealing with my folks next week. I can’t imagine adding boyfriend-level stress to the mix.”

“Understandable. However, I didn’t use the word ‘boyfriend.’ Who was the last person who made your pulse race?”

I furrowed my brow as though giving his lighthearted query serious thought. Then I stopped abruptly before we neared the gravel path leading to the winery and snapped my fingers. “You.”

Miles went perfectly still. I couldn’t tell if he was breathing either, which of course only proved the point that he was, in fact, guilty of giving me heart palpitations.

It was a known fact that on top of my inability to hold my liquor and effectively handle overbearing family members, I had terrible comic timing. I couldn’t tell a joke to save my life or pull off witty banter without it coming across as awkward flirtation. My satisfaction at rendering him temporarily speechless was ruined when I opened my mouth a moment later, and nothing came out. This was why I stuck close to guys like Josh and Eric, who seemed to know how to extricate themselves from sticky situations. When I was a kid, I would literally run for the hills to find a quiet place to hide until my anxiety faded.

Now I had no idea how to get myself out of this. I didn’t want to give Miles the wrong impression but I didn’t—

“Relax, Grant,” Miles said kindly. “I get it. A racing pulse can be caused by indigestion too. Is that what you were saying?”

“Of course not. I would never—”

“Oh, please.” He raised his hands in exasperation and then stalked ahead of me. Then he spun around and pointed a finger at me. “Why can’t anyone say what they think anymore? I’m not talking about crackpots spouting inflammatory BS on social media. I’m talking about honest, face-to-face communication. If everyone only says what they think others want to hear instead of the truth, how will we know what’s real or who can be trusted?”

“I wasn’t lying. You really are the last person to make my pulse race,” I admitted with a weak smile. “You make me nervous.”

“I do? Why?” he asked, tilting his chin curiously.

And this was exactly why I avoided Miles. One minute we seemed to be on the same page and the next, I was scrambling to keep up with him or I was dragging my feet, hoping he’d move on without me.

“I don’t—I mean…I—don’t know.”

Before I could add a quick good-bye and get the hell out, Miles pivoted on his heels in a half circle then moved back to my side. His eyes lit with easy humor. “If it’s any consolation, you make me nervous too. See you later, handsome.”

The Rescuer by Eric Huffbind: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from The Rescuer

by Eric Huffbind

It was 3:30 in the afternoon when Susan arrived to take Christopher back home to his apartment. “I’m still waiting to say goodbye to Jason. I haven’t seen him all day. My nurse told me she was going to try and find him, but I haven’t heard anything yet. He said he was going to be here today, and I can’t just leave without saying goodbye. At the very least, he deserves my gratitude.”

She reassured him with gesturing hands, “It’s fine. I’m not in a rush; we can wait a while longer.”

“Thanks,” he smiled.

Susan smiled back, “You’re welcome. I can’t get over how terrific you look. Wow! What an improvement.”

Just then, the door to the room cracked open, and Jason peered in. “Hey guys, can I come in?”

Christopher sighed with great relief, “Are you kidding? I’ve been looking for you all day!”

“Judy told me you were looking for me. Sorry, I got caught up in some continuing education classes this morning. I promise you, I didn’t forget my star patient is leaving. Good to see you again, Susan. Best of luck with George. Now, tell me, isn’t my cousin the nicest guy?”

“He’s the most wonderful man I’ve ever gone out with.” Susan was radiant. “George is quite fond of you too.”

“I’m just as fond of him. We’ve been close since childhood. Our mothers are sisters. He’s a real catch, so don’t let him slip away.”

“I don’t intend to,” she reassured him.

Jason turned his attention back to Christopher and opened his arms for a hug. Wasting no time, Christopher grabbed his hero and clenched as tight as he could. Emotionally tearing him up inside was the thought, will I ever see you again? Christopher never wanted to let go of him. Jason rubbed Christopher’s back, attempting to heighten the warmth of the goodbye.

At last, the hug subsided. Jason held Christopher’s face between his two palms. “Okay, so, listen up my green-eyed beauty. You go out into that world, and you make me proud. Please stay strong. I know you can do it. But you must know you can do it. And you must want this sobriety more than anything else. Nothing is more important. Your mental, emotional, and physical health all depend on it.”

Jason let go of his face. “Susan, will you be a dear. I need you to do me a huge favor. When you get back to Christopher’s apartment, please go through it with a fine-tooth comb and toss every bottle of alcohol you can find down the sink. Don’t leave any spot without searching. Every drawer, every closet, every nook and cranny in every room.” Looking directly towards Christopher, “I expect you to help her with that purge. You’re not to ever bring any alcohol into your home, not even for guests. Your true friends will understand. Remember, we talked about true friends?”

“I remember that talk, and I promise, I’ll help her search and dump it all,” he said. “Oh, that’s the reason! Now I get it, that’s why you were glad Susan was coming to fetch me.”

Giving him a secretive wink, “If you need me, I mean really need me, you can call into Watermeadow and ask for me.”

Nurse Judy had wandered by and was outside the door for much of this touching goodbye. Christopher grabbed his bags, and he and Susan departed Watermeadow to begin his life again. Clean and sober.

“Bye, Judy,” he smiled at her as they walked away.

“Bye bye, sweetie.” Judy turned and looked at Jason, “You know that boy has a major crush on you, don’t you?”

He rolled his eyes, “So, it’s obvious to you too.”

“Darn right, it’s obvious. However, what may not be obvious to you is that I think, perhaps you have a bit of a crush on him too,” she smirked. “I know a crush when I see one.”

Jason retorted with crossed arms across his chest, “Now, come on, you of all people should know that I would never date a patient.”

“I know you wouldn’t. However, considering that man just left our facility, it seems to me that he’s not a patient of yours any longer. He might be the frog you’ve been hunting for.”

“Even so, I need to know the guy has his shit together. You and I don’t know if it’s going to happen. Of course, it’s what we hope happens.”

“No, you’re right. But you see what I see. And what I see is one of those rare patients who’ll leave here sober and actually stay sober. It’s true, I don’t make that claim often, but it’s what my gut tells me. He’s going to do well. You and I have worked together for a long time now. In your experience, isn’t that what your gut is telling you?”

Jason didn’t respond, but wrinkled his forehead and bit his lip. He just stared out of the window noticing Christopher and Susan walking towards the parking lot. A pensive expression washed over his face.

Love Worth Fighting For by Dara Nelson: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from Love Worth Fighting For

by Dara Nelson

Tommy flies off the bed and runs to the bathroom.  He opens the cabinet under the sink and throws the bag, the towel, everything inside, shoving the door closed and then he jumps into the shower and turns it on.

He has to bite back his scream when ice cold water pummels him for a few seconds until the hot kicks in.

“There you are.  Hey, babe,” Gio says from the doorway.

When Tommy looks over at him, his eyes catch on the cupboard door….the slightly open cupboard door.

Oh shit.

Distract, Tommy, distract.

“Feel like joining me?” he says with a grin.

Gio’s eye darken with lust as he takes a step forward.  The edge of his pantleg brushes against the open cabinet door, making Tommy suck in a breath and hold it.  But Gio’s focus is entirely on Tommy.

He sets the Romero’s bag with food in it and his phone on the counter and slips his suit jacket off of his arms.

Tommy’s hand reaches down to give his dick a few tugs, “Oh, I love it when you strip for me.”

Gio chuckles, “Do I need to dance too?”

“Nope.  What you’re doing is just fine.”

Gio’s eyes lock on Tommy’s cock and somehow, they darken even more.

“Tommy,” he whispers as he wrenches the knot out of his tie.

He yanks it over his head and drops it to the floor.  His shoes are quickly toed off and then…..

And then….

The man stalks forward, barely controlled lust oozing from every pore in his body.

Tommy’s eyes go wide, “Gio?” he whispers and takes a step backwards.

“Tommy, I need you,” Gio rasps out as he steps into the shower…..still wearing his clothes, his socks.

“Oh fuck,” Tommy mumbles as he takes another step backwards.

Seeing Gio, his hair shining with the mist from the steam, his dark chest hair a sharp contrast to the wet white shirt that was now clinging to his body, is both intimidating and hot-as-fuck.

Fuck me running, Tommy thinks, this is one of the hottest things I’ve ever seen.

“Gio,” Tommy repeats, it seems to be the only word that Tommy’s brain could say at the moment.

As Gio walks forward, Tommy steps back.  Not because he’s afraid but because he feels like Gio’s power, his lust, his desire, is pushing Tommy backwards.  He keeps moving until his back meets the unforgiving wall behind him.

Gio steps even closer, placing both hands on the wall by Tommy’s head, barely an inch of space separating their bodies and then he begins sliding his nose and stubbled cheek over Tommy’s face, his lips ghosting across Tommy’s lips but never quite pressing against them the way that Tommy desperately wants them to.  Tommy whimpers when Gio’s lips make light contact with his and he tries to press forward, to connect, to taste the man that he loves with every fiber of his being. But Gio pulls back and, with a smirk that let’s Tommy know that Gio knows exactly how he’s affecting Tommy, he moves his lips along Tommy’s jaw and down the side of his neck.

Tommy’s hands reach out the grab the top of Gio’s pants to try to pull the man closer, “Please,” he begs with a whimper.

“I need you, Tiger,” Gio says again.

“I’m yours, Gio.”

Gio’s mouth moves to Tommy’s adams apple and he sucks it into his mouth before lapping it with his tongue then he moves his mouth to the side of Tommy’s neck.

“I need you,” Gio whispers against the skin just before sucking it into the heat of his mouth, marking him.

“I’m yours.”

Gio’s lips move up Tommy’s jaw, his tongue rasping over the stubble.

“Need you,” he says again.

“Take me.”

Gio pulls his head back and stares, the pupils in his eyes blown open so wide that his dark brown eyes appear black.

“Tommy,” he whispers, an almost pained look on his face.

“Gio, please.”

His hands move to grip either side of his shirt and he rips it open in a flurry of wet sounds and flying buttons.

It helps that he has a knack for thinking on his feet and a willingness to roll with whatever his clients throw at him. Sure, he gets his fair share of creeps and unconventional requests, but it pays the bills, and he’s in no danger of breaking his one rule: never fall for a client.

Jace’s Trial by JM Wolf: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from Jace’s Trial

by JM Wolf

My throat tightened as I watched the fabric slip from his shoulders to the floor. Miles and miles of naked skin with tufts of dark curls exposed; heightened defined muscles flexing at my gaze. My pajama bottoms tented as my cock strained inside begging to be released. Gerard stepped forward and stood over me. He said nothing as he held his hand out for me to take.

As if I were under his spell, I offered my hand to his. He pulled me to my feet and led me to the bed. He sat down at the edge of the bed legs spread out with me standing in between them. My hands instinctively went to his hair, fingers raking along the dark curls as his piercing gaze held mine.

I thought back to the last time Gerard and I looked at each other with this much longing, back when we froze in the hallway after his shower. When the towel dropped, and we were both inches from one another, the look in his eyes burned right through my walls, and I found myself wanting to be taken by him. Back then, I fought my desires to have Gerard, but now I couldn’t imagine never wanting him; never needing him.

We said nothing as we held each other’s stare. I could see everything Gerard felt for me; the longing, the lust, the love, the want; it was all there, and it was for me. It was the most intimate experience I’d ever had. We didn’t need to exchange words because everything we could say, we said with our eyes and touches.

Gerard slowly lifted his hands sliding them in my shirt, fingers grazing up my already heated skin. He brought the shirt up, and I lifted my arms up so he could bring it over my head and off me. It fell to the floor, and his hands were once again running along my stomach, but he never broke eye contact. There was a sense of power in being the center of this man’s attention. It was intoxicating.

Gerard brought his head forward and peppered soft kisses along my abdomen and down to my hip bones. He grabbed the hem of my pajama bottoms and slowly brought them down until they were a puddle on the floor. My cock sprang up leaking with precum as I kicked my legs free of my pants and pushed them to the side. I was now fully naked in front of this gorgeous man, horny and needy.
