Character Interview Featuring Kane and Sionn from The Sinners Series by Rhys Ford + Giveaway!

TBG: In honor of Rhys Ford’s newest release, The Devil’s Brew, she’s given us a little surprise in the form of a unique type of character interview with Kane and Sionn where Kane’s asked about Miki’s Valentine’s Gift…

Kane & Sionn

“An interview, huh?” Sionn slung himself down next to his cousin Kane, reading over the cop’s shoulder as he opened his email. “What shite wants to hear what ye have to say?”

“Amazing you ever lost your virginity with that mouth of yours,” Kane shot back, nudging his cousin in the ribs.

“This mouth of mine is why I lost me virginity long before ye even thought to look at a tight ass when it walked past ye.”

“There’s a reason that front tooth of yours is fake, Sionn. Now shut up and let me read—”

“Valentine’s Day? Hell, that was months ago.” The Irishman snorted and rested his head on his cousin’s shoulder, ignoring Kane’s protests. “Why do they want to know about this now? Because of yer Miki? Famous or infamous?”

“Probably a little bit of both. He’d prefer neither but…”

“Yeah, funny how he and D are different on that. Nothing like standing under the lights and listening to the crowd for Damien.” Sionn pulled away, angling himself into one of the sectional’s corners. “Where your boy would sooner just sing and dance for his supper at some place small.”

“Pretty much,” Kane agreed. “They want to know if I liked Miki’s gift.”

“Hell, stupid question. Boy could vomit in a bag and ye’d think it was liquid gold.”

“Okay maybe not that far but pretty much, yeah.” Kane agreed with a nod. “Not sure how to answer this. I never thought I’d get one of these. Kind of odd having people I don’t know finding out everything we do sometimes. Hell, they ask Miki what his favourite food is.”

“Anything that isn’t moving,” Sionn laughed. “And sometimes even just moving slowly is okay. Man, that one can eat and he’s not picky.”

“Too many years of living on the street.” Kane reminded his cousin. “I think Dude’s more picky about what he eats. One time I caught him eating uncooked ramen noodles. Three in the morning and he’s in the kitchen, sitting on the counter, munching down on the brick like it’s nothing.”

“What? He didn’t want to wait for it to cook?”

“Nope. Found out he’d gotten so used to eating it like that when he was a kid because you know—no where to cook stuff when you’re locked in a room or on the run. So, that’s what he did. Now? Doesn’t even phase him.”

“Jesus.” Sionn added a curse of Gaelic as well. “Boy’s fucked up.”

“A little bit but…couldn’t imagine living without him.” Kane frowned, reading through his email once more. “Now shut up so I can answer this and not just tell them he went to bed very happy and satisfied. And he liked the gift too.”

Saugatuck Summer Virtual Book Tour & Give Away

SaugatuckSummer_TourBanner(2)

Hi, and welcome to the Saugatuck Summer blog tour! Thank you to The Blogger Girls.

Reviews for hosting me today! For those of you who have seen me talking about it on social media for the last nearly year and a half, you know that Saugatuck Summer was a labor of love far beyond what I would normally claim for one of my books. Of course I love them all, but Saugatuck Summer came from my very soul. Actually, I’m not certain it came from me at all.

Basically, here’s what happened: One day I was driving along, running errands, and Topher Carlisle whispered one line of dialogue in my ear. Just one. When I asked him what I was supposed to do with that, he promptly took over my brain for fifteen absolutely insane days and at the end I had the first draft of Saugatuck Summer.

Topher’s story of recovery, hope, making mistakes, and growing up just told itself, and the experience of being the conduit for that was at times grueling and heartbreaking, but also euphoric and wonderful. It was one of those experiences that, as a creator of some form of art, be it musical, visual, or literary, you have once or twice in a lifetime if you’re extraordinarily lucky, when you know you’re creating something magical. I’m not sure it will ever happen to me again, but I feel absolutely blessed that this book has come of it.

This week on the Saugatuck Summer blog tour, I’ll be sharing some bonus content from the book and a sneak peek at another upcoming book in the Saugatuck universe. I’ll also be having a heart-to-heart discussion with Marie Sexton about our experiences as adult children of alcoholics and how they translated into writing our ACOA characters from Saugatuck Summer and Family Man, giving you a peek at some of “Jace’s” art, and I’ll be sharing the official Saugatuck Summer soundtrack from a brilliant singer/songwriter of my personal acquaintance, Casey Stratton.

And finally, all week long I’ll be asking trivia questions from Saugatuck Summer and this week’s blog tour articles, and each correct answer emailed to me offers you a chance to win your choice of any of my backlist titles!

So put on your sunscreen and let’s go!

blogger_bee_trans

HOW TO WIN YOUR CHOICE OF ANY SINGLE BOOK FROM MY BACKLIST (all-in-one volumes not included):

At each stop along the blog tour I’ll be asking a trivia question from Saugatuck Summer. Yes, this means some familiarity with the book is required, whether you purchase a copy, have an ARC, or employ the Kindle or B&N lending programs. If you visit some of the other blog tour stops, you might also find the answer in some of the excerpts.

PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER IN THE COMMENTS. Instead, send the answer to me privately by using this contact form. Each response will enter you into the drawing and three winners will be picked. The more questions you answer, the more entries you get. You can choose from any of the following titles:

Inertia (Impulse, Book One) Acceleration (Impulse, Book Two) Velocity (Impulse, Book Three) The Laird’s Forbidden Lover An Inch at a Time (The Professor’s Rule #2) Inch by Inch (The Professor’s Rule #3) Every Inch of the Way (The Professor’s Rule #4) To the Very Last Inch (The Professor’s Rule #5) Strain

(Note: Giving an Inch (The Professor’s Rule #1) is already available free at Riptide, and my pre-Saugatuck novella, The Field of Someone Else’s Dreams, is available for free at Amazon, All Romance eBooks, and elsewhere.)

Again, please do not post your answer in the comments, but submit it to me privately.

To give people time to read and respond, the contest will remain open for one month after the release of Saugatuck Summer. It will close on June 19, and the drawing will be held on June 20.

SaugatuckSummer_500x750Today’s Saugatuck Summer trivia question:

Chapter 15, what does Robin show Topher that astonishes him?

 One summer can change everything.

Hi, I’m Topher Carlisle: twenty-one, pretty, and fabulous. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself. But let’s get real. Walking the fake-it-til-you-make-it road to independence and self-respect isn’t easy. Especially since my mom’s a deadbeat alcoholic, and most of my family expects me to turn out just as worthless. Oh, and I’m close to losing my college swimming scholarship, so let’s add “dropout” to the list.

My BFF has invited me to stay at her beach house on the shore of Lake Michigan. That’ll give me one summer to make money and figure out what I want to do with my life. So of course I decide to have an affair with my BFF’s married, closeted dad. Because that always works out.

Now I’m homeless, friendless, jobless. Worthless. Just like my family expects, right? Except there’s this great guy, Jace, who sees it differently. He’s got it all together in ways I can only dream of—he’s hot, creative, insightful, understanding. He seems to think I don’t give myself enough credit. And if I don’t watch out, I may start to believe him.

blogger_bee_trans

a0652232934_2Be sure to check out the Saugatuck Summer soundtrack by singer/songwriter Casey Stratton!

Amelia C. Gormley may seem like anyone else. But the truth is she sings in the shower, dances doing laundry, and writes blisteringly hot m/m erotic romance while her son is at school. When she’s not writing in her Pacific Northwest home, Amelia single-handedly juggles her husband, her son, their home, and the obstacles of life by turning into an everyday superhero. And that, she supposes, is just like anyone else.

Her self-published novel-in-three-parts, Impulse (Inertia, Book One; Acceleration, Book Two; and Velocity, Book Three) can be found at most major online book retailers, and be sure to check Riptide for her latest releases, including her Highland historical, The Laird’s Forbidden Lover, the The Professor’s Rule series of erotic novelettes (co-written with Heidi Belleau), the post-apocalyptic romance, Strain, and her upcoming, New Adult contemporary, Saugatuck Summer, available now.

You can contact Amelia on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, BookLikes, Tumblr, or contact her by email using the form athttp://ameliacgormley.com/about/

Honorary Blogger Draven St. James: See What’s Smoking at Firehouse Six! + Giveaway

See What’s Smoking at Firehouse Six!

by Draven St. James

1

I woke up early one more to my characters lounging in bed while having coffee in my mind and regaling me with their story. Let me tell you, it was quite a tale. They were not shy about giving me the details of their carnal adventures. Some were quite literally steamy! They recounted every minute of discovery and even expounded upon the dangerous suspense that had lurked in the shadows.

I found my fingers flying over the keyboard trying to keep up with their amusing dialogue, the deep penetrating moments *wiggle eyebrows*, and the fire that was not only in their interaction with each other but what they experienced in their profession as firefighters. Oh and let me tell you what, I am so thankful to Simon and Michael for giving me an excuse to research the life of a fireman. Nothing is better than hanging out with the real life hunky heroes!

Even with the research *wink* accomplished the telling of their tale was not a simple task as individuals from other books strove to climb into bed with them to have their stories told. Attempting to control the orgy of testosterone clamoring to be the dominant voice was no easy feat!

That is what writing is for me. I am simply the ringleader in a room full of words that fly at me to be put in order on the page. I think it’s that way for many writers. We dance on the edge of what someone outside of the writing community might consider insanity. We breathe life into imaginary people.

So please step forth and immerse yourself in the Firehouse Six world. Below is the blurb and an excerpt from book three of the series, Fused by Fire, which will be released May 20th through Loose ID.

Excerpt

Mica walked into the dark room that contained two bunk beds. Grey’s huddled form made a silhouette against the darkness on one of the lower bunks, and Mica stretched out on the other. Grey’s shifting sent the sounds of a creaky mattress across the small space.

“Are you gay?” Grey’s words shattered the silence with their quiet intensity.

Mica felt like all the air had been sucked from the room. No one had ever out-and-out asked him if he was gay. He was fairly certain it was because he didn’t look like the stereotypical gay man. He also didn’t act like what his coworkers had always described as a gay man. He wasn’t effeminate. They were never cruel, but there was a level of mocking when they spoke about the topic. The reaction to the answer to this one question could screw his whole world up, but he didn’t feel like he could lie to Grey.

“Yes,” he responded in a low voice. He held his breath and waited for some kind of verbal or physical explosive response. There was nothing, just the soft sound of Grey’s breath.

“Was I any good?” Grey asked.

Mica sat up and stared into the darkness, his mouth hanging open. “What?” he asked in a loud whisper.

“In your fantasy, I must have been pretty good, right?” There was humor in the other man’s voice. Humor, but not ridicule.

“Yeah, you were pretty good,” Mica conceded. He lay back on his bed and laughed softly. “You were really good.”

“Is that what you are? Dominant?”

“What do you mean?”

“I…” Grey hesitated. “Are you a top?”

Mica snickered and smiled broadly at Grey for having the courage to ask that kind of question. “Yes and no.”

Grey chuckled. “How does that work?”

“I wouldn’t mind bottoming for the right guy,” Mica confessed. He had never said that to anyone. He had actually never bottomed, but if given a chance with Grey…he’d be tempted.

“Oh…” Grey murmured.

Mica glared hard into the darkness. He wished he could look into Grey’s eyes, see what was in Grey’s mind. It was damn difficult to judge what a man was thinking simply by the tone of his voice. Grey didn’t seem to have much of a problem with Mica’s being gay. If anything, he sounded intrigued.

“I take it you’re straight?” Mica asked.

The weight of the silence was heavy. Had Grey gone to sleep that quickly? Mica wanted to get up and turn on the light, but he didn’t think Grey would appreciate it. It would feel too much like a spotlight during an interrogation.

“Yes,” Grey admitted. Although the brief moment of hesitation was curious.

“Thank you, then, for not freaking out about earlier,” Mica said into the void. His face heated at the words. He wanted to add to that, but he didn’t know what to say. Apologizing for using someone to get off was a new thing to him. In his early days of coming out he’d had his one-night stands with no apology. Somehow this entire situation held a higher level of intimacy. Maybe it was the sharing of secret thoughts in the dark.

Grey shuffled. “Mica?”

“Yeah?”

“What was I doing?”

Mica’s eyes widened. He couldn’t have heard that right, or he’d processed it incorrectly. “Huh?”

“I mean, what was your… What was the whole fantasy?”

Mica had to sit up to hear the whispered words. “In the shower?”

“Yeah.” Grey sighed. “I mean, I know I was…I mean…in the end…sucking…”

Mica could practically feel the heat of the other man blushing across the room.

“Are you seriously asking for the setting of my jack-off session?” Mica chuckled.

“Well, when you say it like that…” Grey’s voice filled with discomfort. “I guess it was an odd question. Never mind.”

Grey sounded mortified. Mica didn’t know what drove Grey to ask the question, but Mica wanted to share the fantasy with him. After all, Grey had asked. No one could fault him for handing over information that had been requested.

Mica lay back and closed his eyes. “You came into the locker room as I was taking off my T-shirt. You wanted to know if I needed any help cleaning up, or if I had any pain from the fire.”

He paused to see if Grey would stop him. If Grey had changed his mind about wanting to know Mica’s hot fantasy. A fantasy where Grey was the star. He heard nothing but Grey’s breathing. “Are you with me?”

“Yes.”

If Mica hadn’t been listening so closely, he wouldn’t have heard the response.

“Okay, so I told you my shoulder was really hurting from when I pushed against the door frame to make it outside. You came up behind me and ran your fingers over my shoulders, massaging. I could detect the faintest touch on my neck, where it felt like you’d kissed me. My cock twitched, and I barely managed to keep from groaning. You felt my body tense, so you pulled away and turned me around. You asked if I was okay, if I needed any other help.” His voice became hoarse with arousal.

“That’s when you looked down and saw my cock, rock hard against my briefs. You reached down to lightly stroke it through the fabric and asked if I required help taking care of any other special needs.”

Grey chuckled softly and said, “Sounds like a line from a porn video.”

“Well, it is a fantasy. Give me a break.” Mica laughed. “Anyway, of course I was shocked by your offer, but so fucking hard because your hand was stroking my dick that I nodded. You pushed my briefs down and wrapped your fingers around my cock. Your hand felt amazing. It was so warm and rough. I rocked my hips into it.” His cock leaked. The arousal was ten times what it had been in the shower. Describing the fantasy for Grey was hotter than he could have imagined.

“And?” Grey asked, his voice ragged.

Mica propped himself up on his elbow. Was it his imagination, or did Grey sound turned on?

“Then you swiped your finger over the head of my dick, getting a drop of precum. You brought it to your lips and sucked it off. You told me it tasted sweet and salty and that you wanted more.”

Grey’s breath came faster from across the room. Holy shit. Just the thought of Grey getting hot from the fantasy was enough to make Mica’s cock throb.

“Then what?” Grey whispered.

Just when he’s begun to build a life that doesn’t include hot shower fantasies of Michael, the object of his angst is thrust into his path.

All too quickly, Simon begins to barrel through Michael’s defenses and dig up the desires Michael has fought so hard to hide. As passions flare out of control, tragedies collide from every side. Michael’s struggle to keep Simon at a distance starts to crumble beneath the weight of the secrets that Simon is hiding.  Will Michael be able to protect Simon when he needs it the most or will he lose Simon forever?
