Exclusive Excerpt from The Selkie Prince’s Unexpected Omega

by J.J. Masters

Zale studied the sleeping omega. His dark blond hair was plastered to his forehead, his skin was a bit paler than normal, his breathing soft and steady as he slept.

Finn was no longer in oestrus, thank Poseidon.

That could only mean one of two things. Either Finn was pregnant or his heat cycle had run its course.

While three days was typical for a cycle, sometimes they’d last for five. Luca’s went a little longer in the beginning when he first went off heat suppressants since it had messed with his cycle.

But this omega obviously hadn’t been on heat suppressants. Which was just crazy. What omega thought it smart to live in a residence full of alphas and not be on heat suppressants?

Maybe his father hadn’t allowed it.

His father.

Zale and his other brothers had suspected King Solomon had only kept Finn around for his own selfish needs. To take a sixth omega and to whelp a sixth alpha pup. But he never did. Or at least Zale didn’t think he’d tried.

Maybe Finn had turned him down.

No, if Finn had refused the king’s offer, he would have been sent away. The king would have no reason to keep him in the castle, or even in the colony, any longer. So why did his father keep the omega around?

Maybe Finn knew. He’d have to ask him when the omega woke up.

But right now, Finn’s face was relaxed and Zale wasn’t going to wake the poor, exhausted male.

He needed to extract himself from this bed, which was a disaster area, and head back to his own quarters to shower. He was sure Jordan, his beta servant, was fretting about his sudden disappearance. Possibly even had his brothers out searching for him.

Zale sat up and dropped his legs over the edge of the bed. He grimaced when he noticed just how much he needed that shower. Cum, slick, and who knew what else was dried and caked to his skin.

Rutting during oestrus was not only a messy activity but not an enjoyable one. Which was a shame since he’d never had an omega before, a male who could produce slick. He’d only had humans and betas with whom a manmade lubricant needed to be used.

He glanced over his shoulder and noticed Finn was now awake, his stunning green eyes pinned on him. The omega reached blindly for the top sheet to cover himself, but it was balled up into a damp, wrinkled mess on the floor.

“No point in covering yourself from me now, Finn. It’s not like I haven’t seen every crack and crevice. At this point, I probably know your body better than you do.”

And what a body that was. Zale had to admit the omega’s lean muscular physique was more than appealing to him. With those green eyes, high cheekbones and his blond hair on the longer side, Zale found Finn very attractive.

by F.E. Feeley Jr.

With the power of a sledgehammer, Hayden felt the caffeine kick his brain into gear.

“So, about the rough night?” Tommy inquired again.

Hayden stared at him for a second and rolled his eyes. “I thought I saw something. A…ghost,” he said, cautiously.

Instead of laughing at him, Tommy arched an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Yeah. I know it sounds dumb, but…I was walking up the stairs last night and almost got to my bedroom when I looked over at the corner…and…this man was standing there.”

Tommy sat forward, listening to Hayden tell his story. He seemed pretty sincere. “Go on.”

“He was awful looking. Pale. Scraggly. His hair was matted down to his head. He was tall, like you, but thin. It took a second or two, but I swear, the sight of him is burnt into my memory.” Hayden sat back. The hairs on his arm stood up as he recalled what he’d seen, and a chill cascaded down his back. He rubbed his arms absentmindedly.

“What happened then?” Tommy asked.

Hayden smirked. “I grabbed my blanket and crashed on the couch. I wasn’t staying up there by myself.”

“Are you sure it wasn’t an intruder? You know, criminals prey on people who live alone or…”He stopped when Hayden emphatically shook his head.

“No. He would have had to run past me. When I spotted him, I fell backward, almost down the stairs. I blinked, and the next second, he was gone. He had nowhere to go. No, I’ve dealt with criminals, trust me.” He took another drink of his coffee, which had begun to cool enough to gulp.

“Fair enough. That’s some pretty scary stuff, man. Maybe we can chase them away with some rock ’n’roll and some painting, what do you say?” Tommy smiled.

“You’re on. Let me get changed into some work clothes. Come on, I’ll take you to the room,”Hayden said as they got up. They left their coffee cups where they were, walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Tommy broke away from him and went into the second bedroom as Hayden went into his room to change.

Tommy saw the cans of paint ready to be shaken and poured into the pan. The room was a sandalwood color, but it was his guess that it used to be considered off-white. He kneeled down, picked up one of the paint cans and started shaking it.

“What did that paint ever do to you?”

Tommy spun around, startled a little, and saw Hayden standing there in a pair of cutoff shorts and a tank top. His muscles were well maintained on his thin frame. His legs were strong and muscular as well. Tommy swallowed hard. Hayden was holding an iPod player and base, which he plugged into the wall. He placed the device on the floor and pressed play. Van Halen’s greatest hits started to play, and Tommy grinned.

Exclusive Excerpt from Drawn to You

by Jaclyn Quinn

Shit. There wasn’t a single thing in his life, aside from the shop, that he didn’t fuck up. He’d put this distance between them. It was his fault Eli had pulled away. Jake lifted his head and took a step back. Eli stared at him, breathing heavy…and he looked pissed.

“Eli…”

Eli studied Jake, as if he were looking for signs that Jake was lying. Then the anger on Eli’s face morphed into—he didn’t know what. Disbelief, maybe? Eli stepped hesitantly closer, and they just stared at each other, heat crackling between them, until Eli moved. Hell, maybe it was him. He had no idea who moved first, but as Eli’s mouth touched his, he couldn’t care less. They hadn’t kissed each other like this—like they needed to just to fucking survive—in weeks. He’d missed him so damn much even though he saw him almost every day.

Eli’s hands slid into Jake’s hair as Jake wrapped his arms around Eli’s waist. He didn’t know how much he needed this…needed Eli…until this very moment. It was like all the fucked-up shit in his life didn’t exist.

The toilet flushed upstairs, making them both pull back and look up at the ceiling. Footsteps sounded above them followed by a door closing. Jake looked at Eli, hating what he was about to say. “We can’t do this out here.”

“Yeah, you’re right.” Eli sighed, glancing back up at the ceiling. “What’s above the office?”

Jake furrowed his brows, completely confused. “The guest bedroom. Why?”

Eli grabbed Jake’s hand and led him out of the family room and down the hall.

“What the hell are you doing?” Jake asked in a hushed tone, completely confused when Eli yanked him into the office. As soon as the door was closed, Eli pushed Jake back against it, and the sound of the lock clicking seemed as loud as a gun firing. Oh.

Eli leaned all his weight against Jake, shoving his hands up underneath Jake’s shirt while Jake took ahold of Eli’s face and pulled him forward until their mouths came together. Jake’s hand was killing him, but he didn’t care. He felt the burn of Eli’s scruff as it scratched against his face. Man, he fucking loved that. Eli pushed up Jake’s shirt taking a step back so Jake had room to yank the thing over his head. Eli did the same with his own and then they were back at it. Tongues battling, hands all over the damn place, and both of them about to bust in their fucking jeans.

Eli dragged his hands down Jake’s torso to the waistband of his pants, but when Jake tried to unbutton them, Eli pushed his hands away. “Nope. I call the shots.” Eli released the button and slowly dragged the zipper down.

“Who says?” Jake growled and leaned down, trying to kiss Eli, but Eli pulled his head back.

“I do; unless you want fucking blue balls to go along with your black and blue hand.”

“You’re taking too damn long—fuck…” Jake’s head fell back against the door with a thud as Eli’s hand curled around his cock.

“So impatient.” Eli tugged on Jake’s cock just enough to make him want more but not enough to get him off.

Saving Jax by L.M. Brown: Exclusive Excerpt!

Exclusive Excerpt from Saving Jax

by L.M. Brown

Ty sat on one of the wing-backed chairs near the fireplace and gestured for Cal to take the other. “You can tell me anything you wish. I will keep any confidence you wish me to. I know you don’t see us as anything other than master and servant, but I hope you know you can at least trust me.”

Cal wouldn’t meet his eyes. “I think one of the felines might be in trouble.”

“What sort of trouble?”

“I’m not sure. Maybe I’m wrong, but my instincts are telling me I’m right.”

“Felines should always trust their instincts,” Ty said. “Who is it you’re worried about?”

“The pure white with the blue eyes. Jax.”

“Ah.”

Cal shot him a quick glance from under his lashes. “You remember him then?”

“Yes, of course. He stood out from the rest of them like a beacon in the dark.”

“He’s not a virgin,” Cal blurted.

Ty smiled. “So I noticed. I’m surprised no one else did, actually, but they probably weren’t looking that closely.”

“What do you mean?” Cal asked. “You only saw him when he was presented to you and I’m sure you weren’t outside when I saw them together.”

“You saw who together?”

“Jax and his lover. I think he called him Lyndon. They were having sex just outside the side door from the servants’ quarters.”

“I see.” That Jax had a lover already meant Ty’s plans would have to be reconsidered. He wondered how Orin had failed to notice his nephew was already spoken for. Surely if he was in an established relationship his lover would have claimed him at some point?

“How did you know he wasn’t a virgin?” Cal asked.

“Hmm?” Ty dragged his attention back to the conversation. “Oh, when he was presenting himself for examination. He was far too stretched and tender to have been untouched. He’d been fucked hard and recently. Now I know where.”

Cal shook his head. “I saw him in the gardens after he’d been presented to you.”

Ty shrugged. “Well, I guess I’ll have to see which of the others might be amenable to mating with me. I have no wish to poach Jax from his lover. I thank you for telling me of your concerns.”

Cal leaned forward, his arms on his legs. “Don’t discount Jax too quickly. Like I said, I think he’s in some kind of trouble.”

Ty recalled Cal had said that, but he had assumed he meant that Jax was playing with fire by claiming to be a virgin when he was clearly not. “What makes you think so?”

Cal lowered his voice to little more than a whisper. “They had sex and Jax seemed to be a willing participant, but when they were done and Lyndon was walking away, the look on Jax’s face was not that of a feline looking at the man he loves. There was pure hatred in his eyes.”

“Are you sure? I mean are you sure he was willing? He wasn’t forced?”

Cal seemed to give the question serious thought. “No, he was enjoying himself and he wasn’t fighting him off. He seemed more angry with what Lyndon had said to him.”

“Which was?”

“Enough to make me offended on Jax’s behalf,” Cal muttered. “He didn’t seem to care if he got Jax pregnant, he called him a slut, oh and he was pretty adamant that while Jax should put on a good show of trying to win your favour, he wasn’t to do so good a job that you claim him.”

Ty didn’t like the idea of anyone manipulating him, and even though he had never met this Lyndon feline, he already hated him with a passion.

“Thank you for telling me this,” Ty said. “But can I ask you a question before you go back to your duties?”

“Of course.”

“If I were to choose Jax as a mate, would you care at all?”

The fleeting expressions of shock, hurt and resignation, told Ty far more than Cal’s polite assurance that it was none of his business who Ty chose to mate with. Ty needed to continue his bloodline and therefore he had to choose from one of the candidates who had been presented to him today.

Ty decided to ignore the words and focus on the truth he saw in Cal’s eyes instead.

Author Q&A: TN Tarrant + Excerpt & Giveaway!

Interview Banner

When did you write your first story and what was the inspiration for it?

I started writing in my teens, the beginnings of what became the Hidden World series.  It had an island that doesn’t exist, aliens living on Earth and all over, and starships.  There were occasional forays into talking animals… Don’t ask me what that was about, I have no idea, lol.

Do you have a writing schedule or do you just write when you can find the time?

I write whenever I have the chance.  Eating a meal, waiting for appointments, or, currently, after I get homework done, or when I need to take a break from the homework.  What I write varies, from new stories, fanfics, or WIPs I’ve been working for years.

Briefly describe the writing process. Do you create an outline first?  Do you seek out inspirational pictures, videos or music? Do you just let the words flow and then go back and try and make some sense out it?

I don’t use outlines, because I’ve always ended up with something other than what I outlined anyway, even with research papers.  I when I can, I like to have the TV on while writing, but not to watch something I haven’t seen yet, and want to pay attention to.  I’ll have Looney Toons cartoons, old British comedies, like Are You Being Served, Monty Python, Red Dwarf, or movies always comedies, or children’s movies.  If I’m in the mood for music, it’s always a mix, anything from Nine Inch Nails and Motley Crue to Michael Bolton and Journey. As for the writing itself, I just let it all go, and then come back later and see what it looks like after it’s had a chance to think about it for a bit.  Sometimes the story flows easily, and other times I struggle to add any words at all.

Where did the desire to write LGBT romance come from?

I don’t know.  I’d found gay romance only months beforehand, and then I lost my job and with no prospects at the time in my town because of the downturn at the time, I was looking for something to do in between job applications.  A vague idea about an alien prodigy in college became Jason’s story in the series, the first book I’ve ever actually completed, 104k in nine days. Scary what you can do when you’re unemployed, right? Then Adam, Killian, Kiran, Valerian and Nikita quickly followed, although none of them were written quite as quickly.

How much research do you do when writing a story and what are the best sources you’ve found for giving an authentic voice to your characters?

How much research depends on whatever bug is buzzing in my brain. But mostly when it comes to certain things, for instance a character in a Hidden World WIP that is asexual, I contacted someone amoung my friends who has publicly identified as asexual, and asked them to read the appropriate passages, to find out if I was presenting Olsen well, or if I needed to adjust a few things to make his character more authentic, more true to what someone who is asexual might experience. I’ll ask real live people, to try to understand better where I can.  There are things that people every day face that I won’t ever experience, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get story ideas for characters that might represent those people at least in a small way. I’ve been fortunate in that most of the people I have asked to help me make my characters more real have been willing to read stuff in the middle or answer strange questions, like what does an orgasm feel like for a man.

Lost and Found by Quin Perin: Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway!

Exclusive Excerpt from Lost and Found

by Quin Perin

“So, missed me?” Carter blurted out as he spread his legs and arms on the couch, arching his back. He was naked, and I was still trying to get my breathing under control. It felt like I’d just finished a marathon, but Carter was hardly bothered.

Fucking kid. Just another reminder that he was too young for me.

“Missed you?” I scoffed, sitting upright and soon regretting the decision. My head spun. And I made a mental note I was too old to fuck him standing up, then doggy style and then over the back of the couch. It’d been a bit much, although I’d loved every second of it.

Carter was insatiable. And he didn’t care whether he destroyed me or not.

“Yeah.” This time, his voice turned softer, dreamy almost. He turned his head, toes wiggling. For a moment, he looked dead serious until that teasing grin split his face.

Truth be told, between you and me, I did miss his crazy hunger for me.

“You’re killing me, boy,” I said, but I hardly meant it. My doctor had pointed out I was in good shape. Thanks to trying to keep up with Carter, I ate healthier, worked out regularly and had something to look forward to. Our kinky calls as well as the live action every few months.

“Yeah, yeah. C’mon, old man,” he teased and then practically jumped to his feet. Oh God, I wanted to cry and simultaneously tap into his secret energy stash. No more.

“Let’s go out.”

“No.” But it didn’t seem like he wanted to listen. Carter was already collecting his clothes from the floor and slipping on his briefs.

“Let’s have a drink. I am twenty-one now. I can drink!” He sounded cheerful. He was half my age. Half. My. Age. Reality crashed into me again.

I cringed. “Thanks for the reminder.”

“Oh, c’mon, don’t sulk.” Slipping on a sock, Carter bounced on one foot and then hunted down the other one. Our Daddy/boy play didn’t weave its way throughout all of our interactions, so him speaking to me like that wasn’t unusual. I just let it be. And quite frankly, I enjoyed his carefree, youthful behavior.

“Under the chair.” I pointed at the crumpled sock and then rubbed my hands over my face. “And, no, Carter, we are not going out.”

“Why?”

“People could—”

“…see us?” Carter finished, bluntly staring at me. He didn’t seem to care. He didn’t see the problem. But it was a huge fucking problem. If his parents saw us, or someone who knew them, him. God, the thought of it made my stomach knot and twist.

“Yeah, no, we are not going out.”

“Dave.” Suddenly, there wasn’t any playful note in his tone. Serious, so damn serious and grown up, he stared down at me on the sofa as though he was about to scold me. “Daddy.”

“Playtime is over.”
